Salon Front

I went to see Yanna at Salon Front and she is absolutely amazing! I wanted ombré done but I was worried that when I wore my hair straight (like I normally do) that there would be huge line across my hair that separated the colours. Ombré often ends up that way. Yanna did an absolutely incredible job blending everything perfectly and then she straightened it for me just to make sure that I was happy with how it looked when it was straight. She would have fixed it if I wasn’t happy but I was thrilled with it! I’m so in love with my hair!
If you are looking for a stylist in Edmonton — GO SEE YANNA! She is great at what she does!
I’ve seen some of the «funkier» work she’s done (purples, solvers, bright red, etc.) and it looks great! I’m a bit more conservative though (I went with a soft caramel) and she did such an amazing job on my hair; she can cater to anyone with any taste! Definitely give her a try — you won’t regret it!

I bought a Groupon for Salon Front which expired today; two days ago, I called on the off chance that there may be an appointment time available before the end of today. There was! That was a fun mini-​victory which sadly further reinforces my typical wait-​until-​the-​last-​minute ways.
I’d heard that many of the stylists from Avanti had made a new work-​home here, so I was curious about how things were going for them. I had a fantastic stylist, Larissa. I didn’t have to wait at all, I was offered a cranberry spritzer when I said, «oh water’s fine» (instead of the initial offer of coffee), and the capes are SO COOL! They have little openings for your hands, so you’re not restricted during the cut. The music was great, the atmosphere’s fun with a tonne of natural light because of the atrium. She’s experienced, funny, and I walked out of there with a fantastic haircut.
I’d go again.

Further details? Salon Front is in the same building as the National Film Board — there used to be a photographer in their space. They have two parking spots in the back alley.

I went to see Melissa three times now. First time I saw her, I got cut and color and the color was horrible. Not what I wanted. She told me that day that she always styles naturally wavy hair with a curly hair style when she styles your hair for the first time, so you can see what your hair can do. I came out of the hair salon looking like a poodle. It looked aweful. A very oudated, not modern hair style. First thing I did when I got home was wash my hair. I couldn’t blieve I had spent $ 220 for that ugly color and that ugly hair style. The cut she gave me was nice, so I decided to go back for only a haircut. Second time she did my hair, she cut my hair nicely and she put feathers in my hair. That was cool. So, just a week ago I went back for another haircut. My haircut was nothing what she normally did to my hair. The layers were uneven, choppy. Couldn’t style my hair after I washed it. It was horible. It took her 15 mins to trim my hair and on top of that, she was so distracted that day, she washed my hair twice instead of condition it. I walked up to the till thinking my haircut would be $ 60 TOPS! I almost fell over when she told me that the TRIM she gave me was costing me $ 72 and that did not include a tip! That was a rip-​off. I’m sorry, her haircut is not worth $ 72. The haircut was so bad that I had to go back to her to get it fixed. I will never go back there. That salon is overpriced for what they have to offer.

I have been going to Salon Front since it opened and have to say it is a fantastic salon. It has a nice open atmosphere and really friendly staff. I never find it difficult to get squeezed in for a color. Marie is the stylist I see and she works wonders. I have naturally brown hair that she was able to give a natural looking blonde. When I went back to brunette recently the color was nothing short of amazing. People I don’t even know have come up and complimented my hair. I have never been so happy with a stylist and would recommend this place to anyone!
