This is in Woodside, Dartmouth, NS. Eastern Passage has nothing to do with it.

A&W is my fast food burger place of choice, due to their hormone free meat. There are only two burger places in the city that offer this(that I know of), being A&W and Flip Burger. I travel from another part of the city to go to this specific A&W. As with most of being who frequent fast food places, we all know that orders get messed up quite a bit. This A&W is the most consistent in getting my order correctly. Unlike some of the other locations, this one has never run out of ingredients or told me that I couldn’t have poutine since there was«no gravy on.» I still miss the old fries which were crispier and in my opinion better. I do find with the new fries many of the locations do not cook them long enough and they are soggy within minutes. This happens on occasion here — but certainly not frequently. This will continue to be my location of choice.

Never thought I would review a fast food place, but did 3 desperate trips there the past couple weeks for drive through«quick» breakfast. Every time they messed up my order, forgot things, didn’t charge me until I asked where an item was, and acted rude when I said a mistake was made. They seem to hire really old people that move as slow as possible for drive through customers. Sorry for all the negative points, but it had to be said by someone. I will return, but c’mon people, start having better service.

I’ve gone to this A&W many times and always liked it. It’s different from the usual Wendy’s/McDonald’s choice I usually make. But today, I felt like they were trying to talk me out of being a customer. I ordered my usual, a Double Teen combo, with a large root beer and fries with seasoning salt. The cashier’s response was that the pop is quite large. Well, yes, I know. That’s why I asked for it. No, they said, it’s a litre. After another try, I finally gave up and just cancelled the drink altogether. No one’s going to A&W because they want to stay away from unhealthy food choices. Being second guessed on my order made me feel like They didn’t think the most of my visit. I drove PAST three other fast food places to come to that A&W location. Next time I won’t go so far.

Ok most you may not believe this but read on… I was craving a burger and BAM, I saw A&W. For a franchised business it’s the most homie style burger joint I’ve seen to date. Theses burger places area popping up like apartment buildings, and you can’t walk out of there without spending 15 – 20 $! What ever happened to the 5 $ burger meal with a drink? Anyway, the burgers at A&W look almost like the pictures in the advertisement, it taste fresh and homemade. It’s not messy or all over the place, the root beer was served in a large frosted mug which made it just that much more delicious. The fries were average fries but still good. They also have Hellman’s mayo! serious? yup! For a meal under 10 $ in a fast food burger joint it was great. The service was helpful and patient with my indecisiveness that day, the atmosphere was chilled, and relaxing, and the food was delicious, so good that I compare it to all these burger joint opening up in the city. For the record, nothing beats my homemade juicy Lucy(recently changed to the cheesy Ed) Definitely recommended.

Come to the A&W during the summer, on a Thursday night, and you may be lucky enough to see more than just the A&W Bear. Every Thursday night the fast-food restaurant has«Cruise nights» where owners of antique cars come down to show off their beauties and enjoy a burger. A typical Thursday night may see 100+ cars, while the main event, the«A&W Annual Cruise Night“is usually held the third Thursday of August, drawing huge crowds and antiques from all across the country.
