Horrible place to eat, DON’T WASTEYOURMONEY! Here’s my story: I went for their wing special one night and was looking forward to cheap wings with a friend. What I found when I got there was that the wing night had all sorts of strings attached, like how a beverage needed to be purchased, a minimum order, and what increments to order in. I can understand a place having one or two conditions but all combined totally took the joy out of it for me. The food was average and the service was terrible. The servers seemed annoyed with us the entire time. It was enough to keep me from going back there for a couple of years. Then one night I have friends visiting and looking to go out for wings. I decided to gives Pilot’s another try. BIGMISTAKE! The servers were just as surly as ever. Ours seemed like she had a cold, which annoyed me(both of us should’ve just stayed home). We all order dipping sauce for our wings. My friend though got one only half full. When we pointed this out and asked for another she got charged for a second sauce. When we later complained to the management, they refused to cancel the 50 cent charge. I would’ve have just walked away had it not been for that, but that was the final straw. So here’s what your 50 cents buys you Pilot’s: The loss of a potential repeat customer, 4 ppl actively discouraging others from eating there, and a lengthy negative review on Unilocal. You guys really blew this one!

Without a doubt the best place to eat in town. The liver and onions is unbeatable. I hated vegetables my whole life until I ate here. The staff is very friendly and go out of there way to serve you. And the prices are also very reasonable and you get more for your money then anywhere I have eaten. It’s not just quantity its quality and quantity plus friendly staff.

Terrible! 1) we must be waisting the waitresses time because that’s how she made us feel. 2) food made me sick. We came here twice thinking it would be better the second time. We told the manager we would be putting a bad review online and he didn’t care.

I had a burger there today that was very much like something my dad would make on the bbq — clearly homemade, clearly fresh, well seasoned. Service was average.

3 stars for the food. 2 stars for the décor. Dusty Rose 90“s theme. Old furniture. The server was too familiar with customers. Server did not set the table. She tossed the utensils in a bunch on the table, for us to create our settings. We had to wait for 5 minutes to get a refill of water when the restaurant was practically empty. Then when she arrived, it was as if we were intruding on her time. The food was okay. Edible at least. I had the Ruben. Obviously microwaved packaged meat, bland sauerkraut, no cheese and the bread was clearly a few days old. My companions ordered the fish & chips = «Not Bad», hamburger platter = «Good». We will not be repeating this experience.

Walk in and check out the special menu, and then grab your own seat. This restaurant isn’t a 5 star establishment, but its a good spot for a group lunch. With my few times here I’ve tried a few things, from the steamed mussels, to the hot wings… and let me warn you about the hot wings(good and hot… unexpectedly hot). The food here is decent, and the staff is good for the lunch crowd. Come here to get a burger, try the special. You’ll leave here satisfied(unless you’re looking for a Gordon Ramsey made special)

Maybe my experience isn’t what usually happens at Pilot’s Pub? First impressions– the restaurant is very dated inside décor wise but that’s part of the charm that made us want to go in for a bite. I love diners and after getting a glowing recommendation from someone we decided to give it a try. Very casual type of place, the sign said seat yourselves and we did just that, in a booth towards the back of the restaurant, this place is huge and has nice views from the large picture windows. The only issue with the atmosphere was the temperature, it was cold and our waitress even commented as she took our drink order that it was cold in there but it never got any warmer while we were there. There were two waitresses working from what I could see and they were busy with a large group and several other tables consisting of mostly families. The servers were friendly and smiley which was nice. There wasn’t much of a pub vibe, there were kids in high chairs and the waitresses brought them spill-proof kids cups and colouring sheets with crayons. This place seems like more of a family-style restaurant but maybe it’s happening on a Friday night? The service was pretty good considering the other groups but we did have a bit of a wait. However, I don’t mind waiting on a Sunday afternoon. I would have waited twice as long without any issues if the food had been good but unfortunately it really wasn’t. We split an appetizer of spinach dip that comes with homemade potato chips and tortilla chips. The dip was piping hot but very bland, hardly any flavour, the potato chips were overcooked and dark brown, the tortillas were also fried, greasy and cold. For our mains we ordered the fish and chips, there were large pieces of fish but these were as overcooked as the potato chips and VERY oily. The fries were shoestring, pretty standard and were also overcooked. I think the oil probably could have used a change which could be why everything was so extra dark and crispy. I hate that my first review on Unilocal isn’t a good one but I have to say– I won’t be going back there anytime soon.

Pilot’s is a favorite of mine. The décor is a little tacky, but the food is excellent across the board, and the staff is friendly. Great wings, excellent burgers and sandwiches, and perfectly-prepared steaks. My favorite is the chicken parmesan. Their daily specials are great bargains too. This place is a hidden gem, just down the street from NSCC’s waterfront campus.
