Honestly… A business with the word ‘Café’ in its name that cannot make a proper cup of coffee. The coffee here is so horrendous it’s beyond words. Asked for a double latte… The lady making the coffee just let the shot run until more than half of an 8oz cup was filled with ‘espresso’. She then topped it off with some burnt super heated milk and swirled it around… Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

The place seems clean, and the interior is quite nice, but the server was kind of clueless and the food was poor. The«Thai Chicken Salad» was made up of mixed greens from one of those premixed boxes, which means that the cook just shovelled it on the plate and didn’t wash or prep it so quite a lot of the lettuce & stuff was spoiled(not wilted, it was rotting) with five slices of frozen pre-cooked chicken meat laid on top. About the only thing Thai in it was probably the birds were killed in asia before being shipped over. The chicken rice soup wouldn’t have been too bad if it wasn’t served cold.

Glad I found this spot. Decent coffee and pastries but the lady behind the counter is super nice and attentive. It’s hard to find such good service, give these guys your coffee money.

They have good food and great service. Their hours of operation is great. Quality dropped for a while but they are putting it back together again. I’ve seen huge improvements in the past 10 months.

The last time I went to a «Bread Garden» was back in the 90’s when it was homely with better selection. I haven’t been since with the new re-branding of the franchise prior to today. I came here to meet with a friend of mine for coffee and a light early lunch, however, was disappointed at the selection that early in the morning. I didn’t find anything that screamed«gourmet with love» as with the older model. To me this looked like any other café. At least there this location has tons of seating, perfect for meetings.

K seriously, how IS this place still in business? Visit on a Friday for lunch… literally 1 other person in the place. Then I look to the food cases — there are probably less than 18 things total. Well, I hope for 19 people don’t randomly show up because that #19 will be SOL. I had my standard Thai Chicken wrap, and I don’t know if anyone else remembers, but when BG first opened up, they legit had the most epic Thai Chicken Wrap. It has now been changed and is a shell of its former self. It’s decent though, I guess. Funny enough, when I was sitting in there eating away a woman came in and ordered the ‘last’ butter chicken wrap and the person working(who I assumed was the owner) let to woman know it was 3 days old, and asked if that was ‘okay?’… Ummm. 1. maybe it shouldn’t be in the case or 2. if you are confident that the quality is still there to sell it, maybe you shouldn’t tell people how old your food is? Finally… they must be using a CD player still, because about 2 bites into my wrap, the lovely Christmas song that was playing started to skip. I didn’t say anything because I wanted to see how long it would take one of the two people working to notice. When I left 12 minutes later the song was still skipping…

For a very relaxing place just to relax and have a coffee, and maybe do the soduku in the ‘Metro’ come here to hang and relax. This part of Coquitlam is not known for many sit down coffee hangouts, but this would definately be one of them. Just off Schoolhouse and Lougheed, it’s actually pretty nice inside. They have some nice marble-like tables, and some tables also have some cushy white leather chairs. Lots of seating, and a wide selection of food. Just be warned, you are entering the Bread Garden, prices are the same at all their locations, so there is nothing too thrifty here, but the sandwiches do hit the spot quite well, and the cookies too. A good assortment of drinks, from hot coffees, to nice smoothies made in house. They also carry some beers, and Yellow Tail wine.
