I’m a regular at this ABC location and it’s a family owned restaurant that is consistently great. Considering it’s an upper-tier diner-style establishment, it has upper-tier comfort foods but also can be extremely healthy while having«wow factor» homely service and a great ambiance with large booths seating and hot adult hits as soundtrack to the dining experience. For those who keep wondering about the simplicity of the chain’s name; legend has it that it means Alberta/British Columbia where they do or hope to do business; who knew as I never really connected with the brand name but became a fan once I opened the door in Coquitlam about 7 years ago… Tonight I ordered the 6oz angus sirloin steak salad($ 18.49) with added side of broiled chicken($ 4.25). It was a little On the high side for a high protein, very healthy salad but it was worth every penny. It was clean eating for any type of diet requiring protein and low carbs. Spinach and dark green leaves with sliced strawberries, walnuts and sprinkling of feta cheese with a light balsamic vinaigrette definitely hit the spot. This might be a family restaurant but angus steaks and beef, carved turkey and prawns amongst many high end offerings, don’t mistake it for a greasy diner place like Denny’s or ihop; it is upper-tier casual in line with White Spot, but better than White spot, really!!! I had to Indulge«sensibly» after all This healthy meal and I went for the mini-toffee pudding cake($ 2.99). The portion was a large size for a «mini dessert» and needless to say I licked the plate clean, it was that good! Always a great experience at this Coquitlam ABC; as easy as 1,2,3; keep it going!

This is my mother’s and my favourite restaurant. We’ve always gone here during our visits and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The menu offers a wide variety of options and the service is just right — not super slow, not whisking dishes away the minute you lay your fork down. I haven’t been able to go with her for a couple of years now but I still go occasionally with friends and nothing has changed. I still enjoy the homey atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the good food. Recommended!

I love this place with the bad name ‘ABC’ but they have a wide variety of menu items for all ages. We saw seniors and families with their babies. Food is good, fresh and service is friendly. Love their burgers and seasonal poutine dishes. Don’t let the bad name deter you from this place.

This is easily the best customer service in a restaurant I have been to. From the moment I walked through the door we felt welcome. They have board games on tables to pass the time. Food is what you would expect from abc which is good home cooking. I will come again and great job on service

I just read the(low rated) reviews below stated that service was deplorable while their food was on point and I have to say that anyone on the receiving end of crappy service clearly wasn’t served by the young pretty blonde named Brianne because she was a DOLL. The sort of nice and kind that made my socially awkward self want to run back in and be like, «CANWEBEFRIENDS?» My partner and I ended up in this restaurant at random this afternoon after jumping in the car, choosing a direction and driving for hours in the monsoon. I didn’t go in with big expectations and was just excited for what I assumed would be Denny’s-esque eats in a lowkey setting. It’s surprisingly nice inside — light and airy but with a lot of details. Fun signs of Boys Only areas, rich colours and each booth is separated by iron cut outs of family life. Bathrooms were really clean, there was no line, we were seated almost immediately, it was lightly packed with people but nice and quiet… just all around good, comfortable atmosphere. Food was solid. I had a hard time choosing between all that comfort food. I ordered the Rutherford Beef Dip($ 13) with a Butternut Squash side soup(though i could have ordered a pulled pork chowder and I’m STILL lamenting on it). The beef au jus was really flavourful without being salty, the angus beef thickly piled on in thin shavings, the onions gorgeously carmalised. The soup was standard for the flavour and delicious, but did not wow me. Boyfriend ordered the ABC Burger($ 13) with avocado and bacon and, from my stolen bites, I determined there was a LOT of avocado that was perfectly ripe and the burger escaped that. burger mushy sameness a sloppy burger tends to devolve into. Really pleased with that, and the french friends were great. Best diner fries I’ve had in a while. I was also damn near screaming over the mini desserts. WHAT A GODDANGEDCONCEPT. I never order dessert because I never want THAT much of one so having the option to get a less expensive half portion was probably what started tipping me towards the tears aha. I ended up ordering the $ 2.99 mini Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble with a scoop of icecream on top and it was GREAT and I AMSTILLREALLYTICKLEDBYTHIS. Service was awesome, even after the meal. Brianne stopped by our table multiple times to check in, but didn’t hover or intrude in our heated debate on the farming industry. She was smiley, quick and seemed tickled by me being so tickled by everything. BUTTHEN BUTTHENAFTERTHEMEAL I NOTICEDALLTHESTUFF. Is this a thing ABC restaurants do, or is it just this one? All around the tills are unusual knickknacks and charms for purchase you can add to your meal ticket. And, upon seeing tiny tiny glass items, I kinnddaaa lost it in glee. I collect them, you see. I rifled through joyously, just excited to see things I haven’t seen elsewhere. I ended up finding a tiny glass flamingo and angelfish before i stumbled on. aquarium floaters? Blown glass creatures tied to blown glass air bubbles that you put in an aquarium to bob around. ANDTHATDIDIT. I WENTTOCRAZYTOWN. Because, you see, I not only collect glass, I am an aquarium enthusiast and collect mostly sea items. I gleefully went to pick one of the charms($ 2.49 for one, $ 10.99 for 6) when that ANGELICPRINCESS offered me a huge buy 2, get 4 sort of deal because apparently they don’t sell at all. So I left, skipping to the car, happily full with my bag of treasures and just started weeping happily, to the delight of my boyfriend lol. I just had a REALGOODDAY, man, and this was just a cap on top of it. Great atmosphere, fun additions, sweet staff and gooood food. I wish i lived closer.

The food is usually good, but the service has always been awful. It’s like the service staff is made to go in slow motion. They are the slowest service staff I have ever come across in my whole life. Even the hostess is so slow. Every time I’ve gone there I’ve had to flag someone down to get my bill, and that usually took at least 5 to 10 min because no one was on the floor. Awful, awful service.

Food was decent, service was awful tho. Had to wait forever to get our bill and once we did it took forever for them to come back so we could actually pay. Only refilled our waters once. Didn’t come off as warm and welcoming people.

It’s not the worst eatery but it’s not the best either. When I lived with my sister we came a few times ’cause our periods were in sync and we needed some really bad greasy spoon food. The waitress was nice and the prices were decent. The food was way too greasy for me. Portions are huge. They have a cute craft store in the middle of the eatery which ads a charm. There is a nice fire place in the corner that reminds you of your grandmothers home at Christmas.

Went here with my wife and father in law because he said it was really good breakfast. I ordered a one egg Benny with ham. The hollandaise sauce was thin and bland. The egg itself tasted old like it was sitting for awhile and the yolk was hard not over medium as I’d ordered. I could go on but the food truly was terrible. My wife’s waffle looked worse than what I could make at home not restaurant quality by far. Save your money you can make better food at home.

Terrible ceasar, below average food, and simply average service. Lots of pieces of gum stuck under the table as well.

We had brunch today at this ABC. We go about every 6 weeks. It is a pleasure to eat there. Special kudos to Katie, Anna and Tanya. They are exceptional! They always have a smile on their face and always pleasant and cheerful. They always remember us and take time to have a chat with us. Chili was on the menu today and it was delicious and homemade. There was also a pecan pumpkin crumble for dessert. It was so good. Thank you ladies and chef for a terrific meal.
