First time here. Great coffee and fresh breakfast panini. Also shared a coconut berry scone which was awesome. Staff was friendly and fast. Nice atmosphere for an early coffee. Highly recommend this place and will be back tomorrow.

We visited GEC several times during our visit to Canmore… both were really good experiences. The first visit was for coffee and a pastry… both very good and well priced. The second visit was for a special Sunday evening where they were hosting a musician named Sarah Smith. To my pleasant surprise, they also served wine after 3pm… so after my fill of coffee for the day, I elected to go with some vino(Cab). The wine was just right(only $ 7) and music was fantastic. Although we are heading back from our vacation soon, I would definitely recommend a visit… if you are lucky enough to go during a music night, I hope you have as good of time as we did.

We tried a bunch of vegetarian food items: the kale flatbread, bean stew and the panini. They were all very good. We also tried the camomile tea. The only complaint would be the loud music which in the absence of soft surfaces or baffles, just reverberates around the small room.

The coffee was good and the muffins looked great but at 10 am the music was so loud and I like to think that I like all types but it was terrible. Especially for morning tunes. My husband and I were going to stay for breakfast but I couldn’t get out fast enough!

The best thing about the hot chocolate at Good Earth was the whipped cream; the chocolate was very weak and disappointing.

Reasonably good little lunch place. Had a nice sandwich and salad. 50% of the staff working at 2:30 on 23Sept2015 were great. The other 50% was a bitchy chick with a crappy attitude and is the sole reason I will never come back. The two stars are solid: one for the dude working and one for the food. Good luck.

Fantastic café, great atmosphere, and pretty cheap prices for sandwiches and salads. Great place to go for lunch on the go. Can’t attest for the coffee because I didn’t order any, but very hopping place.

The worker at the till was very unfriendly. I asked her if they had Chocolate Milk and she blankly stared at me… I had to ask 4 times until she asked, «What is Chocolate Milk?» Seriously???

Stopped in for a cup of coffee and was wonderfully surprised by the knowledgable and friendly staff. I asked about several coffee blends and they recommended a light organic roast that they brewed at the time I ordered. I enjoyed my freshly made cup of coffee on the patio while taking in the beautiful mountains and scenic town of Canmore. I will definitely be back.

Stopped in for a take-out lunch for the family. Home made mac and cheese, chili, roasted potato salad and chicken wrap, mango frap were all very good. All horne made, good quality food. Busy, lined up out the door, but the service was fairly quick(not quick like Tim’s but this is better quality food.). Had a GF almond butter cookie as a sweet treat. More GF options would be appreciated.

Good, but it depends who makes your drink. Cappuccinos varied in strength and taste each of the 4 times I had one.

Traveling through town looking for a place to set up my office for a couple of hours. BINGO! Great place, locals only, relaxed, I’m in a cozy corner with FASTINTERNET and no Banff touristic overpriced barf! Worth the drive to leave Banff and feel at home. PROS: 2 hours of 16mb WIFI for 2 hours with purchase! YEAH!!! Healthy inexpensive food good quality tea selection comfortable seating nice lighting friendly service CONS: Can’t think of any.

Good Earth café has a beautiful interior/exterior and the food, while a tiny bit pricey, was absolutely great. What brings my rating down so drastically is the service. A girlfriend and I had just backpacked 60 km over four days, and Good Earth was our first non-dehydrated meal on our drive back home on July 9. We were pretty excited needless to say. The girl who helped us was a tall blonde with bangs and she was just really unpleasant. She was talking normally to her coworker when we walked in, but as soon as I «interrupted» her she was dry and unimpressed. I was choosing a baked good and felt anxiety as she stared at me like I was taking forever. She barely made eye contact, spoke in a monotone, and made both of us feel as if it was irritating we were ordering $ 25 dollars worth of food at a café. My apologies. I served at a seafood restaurant for 3 years on Granville Island, so I completely understand that it can be exhausting getting a constant stream of tourists. However, they are your bread and butter and they are keeping your business going. It doesn’t take too much effort to be mildly friendly, or at least not make them feel like they are annoying because they are ordering food. This is my first Unilocal review, and I’m not sure why I felt so compelled. I walked out with my girlfriend, looked at her, thinking maybe i was the only one who noticed how unpleasant the girl was, but she immediately commented«wow, aren’t we a pain in the ass ordering two coffees, sandwiches and a muffin».

Good location, comfortable atmosphere and great looking food. Unfortunately I was there right before closing, along with almost a dozen other customers, and the service was very slow. The barista was friendly and personable, but he had another guy working with him, mopping the floor while all of us in line watched one guy make all the drinks. The barista seemed fine with it but I kept thinking, «You’ll be able to close sooner if you help all your customers first.»

This Good Earth is a couple blocks from where I stay when I am out in Canmore. I will usually stop in whenever I am out there. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are super friendly. There is a TON of seating in this place, as it is quite a large space for a coffee shop. They even have a little sidewalk patio for the warmer months. The shop is clean and tidy, which is exactly what you want from a place serving food and drinks. The food is okay, a little on the expensive side for what you get, but the coffee is consistently good. I would recommend popping in whenever you are taking a stroll down mainstreet Canmore!

There’s no denying the ambience and esthetic in this coffee shop is very enticing, as well as the smells of fresh baked goods etc. The staff are friendly, though when I ordered an iced coffee, it was brought all the way to my table in a plastic to-go cup without a straw. so I had to get up and go search for the straws for myself… which were not that easy to find. I know thats a minor gripe but sometimes its all the little things that count. One of the ways they promote themselves is by promoting their wi-fi access, You get two hours, which is fine, and I commend them on the speed of of the internet connection. BUT… not an electric outlet to be seen. Why would you offer people an internet connection, and then not provide them with the circuitry to meet their digital needs? I mean its terribly annoying to have to make sure all your devices are fully charged before coming here, and even then not know for sure whether your battery will last the entire time? I can understand that maybe its a strategy to avoid loitering, but honestly they already take care of that with the 2 hour time limit on the wifi. As i said before its all the little things that matter, and they add up. At the price of their coffees(more expensive than even the expensive chains), I’d expect a little more…

Great Food… Love the location but it takes way too long to get a coffee! 250 people an hour and one register– you do the math! I’ve been in there 5 times this summer and it is always the same story line up and wait and wait and wait. I prefer Good Earth over other store owned coffee shops but I simply don’t think I can handle the 20 min wait ever time I’m in this location!

For a coffee shop it is pretty good, but for a Canmore coffee shop I expect a little more community. The price is good and there is a lot of seating.

A vegetarian refuge in a beautiful setting. Not exclusively veg, but numerous options in an otherwise fairly meat-centric locale. A deviled egg salad sandwich and an amazing grilled cheese saved the day for us. Our espresso beverages were well made and delicious. Cozy environment with prime patio seating out front if you can get it. So happy to have found this gem.

Good Earth Cafes and their mac and cheese were a staple of my childhood — and I can’t stop going back. It’s really a lovely spot to stop for a muffin and a coffee. The patio is perfect for people watching and catching up with friends. The staff have always been friendly.
