I love this place! Parking can be a bit tricky because you’re sharing it with patrons of General Paint, and entry into the parking lot is challenging if you’re coming from 20th Ave heading west. I was greeted immediately by the shopkeeper when I entered(it smells a bit like a locker room, but I don’t mind). All of the staff are extremely knowledgeable in terms of wine and cheese and food pairings. Unlike the Crowfoot location, this store always has a variety of specials featured weekly. They sell fondue and raclette kits, biscuits, jams and jellies, gift baskets along with the cheeses(blue, Boursin, Stilton, Gouda(coconut), Manchego, Kasseri, smoked Cheddar…)

Disappoint that neither of the two store owners got back to me as promised, following up on an inquiry for a corporate order. Small Business should never be too small to give of your best customer service.

Love… insane cheesy love every time I walk in! In honor of poutine week, I wanted to treat a deserving friend to some homemade poutine with sweet potato fries and mushroom gravy with, of course, good quality cheese curds. I didn’t want to take the chance of going to a grocery store and being disappointed with the selection, and this is on my way home. There was just one bag of white cheese curds left… almost as if they were waiting for me! Had a sample of the goat cheddar(which is delightful!) after having a good look around. They even have kefalograviera, which is my favorite for making Saganaki. The staff are wonderful and really know their product, so don’t hesitate to come in and ask a few questions. This is the place where cheesy dreams are made!

This cheese shop straddles the territory somewhere between the supermarket counter and Janice Beaton Fine Cheeses. They definitely have a larger selection than either of those two extremes, as they include everything from regular mozzarella, through smells-like-feet French cheeses, to specialty items such as a Swiss-made fat free parmesan substitutes(look for«Sap Sago»). The store is more like the grocery counter insofar as the cheeses on display are mostly pre-wrapped(so you can grab and go), though they do keep a couple out every day for free tasting. If you really need a specific amount, ask at the cash and they can usually wrap it to order. A selection of crackers and condiments is also available, so if you’re going to a party, you can get all your cheesy paraphernalia in one stop.

We came across this cheese place by accident. Hubby kind of roared into the place on autopilot as he claims(for real) that he used to be a mouse in his former life. And I kind of believe him! I am not a cheese person but I was impressed at the store, how it was set up and the variety of cheese. Not a big place, just perfect to be able to look around within 10 min or so and there was some sort of brie with crackers you could sample at the till. Mice love samples! The young man working at Springbank was pleasant, he said that he enjoyed his job as he loved cheese. So there you go. We left with a half bag full of cheese, we found the prices to be quite reasonable.

I just had the most amazing service yesterday at Springbank cheese is Willow Park. I went in and told the young guy working that I was a big fan of aged cheddar, but I wanted to try something different. He got me a sample of his suggestion– Cave Aged Gruyère– and it was bang on exactly what I wanted. Im sure he would have continued to help and let me try samples had he not found what I wanted right away. He even suggested wine pairings as I was paying, which was perfect because I was going next door to buy some wine. My only suggestion would be that they need to step up their marketing! I went on facebook and twitter to sing their praises, and they don’t have either. If you going to have amazing service, let people find out about it!

Don’t forget their second location in Crowfoot. You can get your cheese at Springbank, bread at Cobs and wine at Crowfoot Liquor all in one mall!

Gouda, Fontina, Asiago, OHMY! Every type of cheese you have EVER dreamt of, every type of cheese you have EVER tasted, and every type of cheese you’ll ever need in this lifetime is at Springbank Cheese Company. This place has been around for decades and I can clearly see why. Never in my life have I seen such an assortment of cheese. Though the shop is smaller than I pictured in my mind, it’s compact. They’ve got well-stocked coolers full of cheese at every end and when they’re not busy importing all your favourite cheeses from various corners of the globe, they’re making it on-site in the factory out back. They offer in-store promotions where you can buy a variety of different slices on-sale and if by ANY miracle you can’t find exactly what you need, they’ll either make it for you, or find it for you. Springbank is your official one-stop cheese shop.

It stinks in Springbank Cheese Company. I know most would say it’s the cheese, but I don’t believe that. It smells like chemicals and it’s completely offensive… That said, they have a good selection of cheese. And chemicals. No, their cheese might be good and it looks like they have variety, but I can’t get over that smell. Plus, nothing popped out at me here and the display was reminiscent of a factory wholesale place without the savings. But the locals seem to love it. I’ve been to better cheese places, though…

If you’re looking for cheese you need to check out the Springbank Cheese company. They’ve been around since the 1960s, and they have every cheese imaginable. Take goat’s milk cheese, for instance — they have 19 varieties! They also have rennet –free, lactose-free, organic, and low-fat cheese. When I went in there to pick up something different for my cheese plate, I was able to get some fantastic tasting Canadian brie with pepper that I warmed with blueberry preserves — wow — taste sensation! I was surprised to learn that Springbank will put together cheese baskets for you if you need a special gift for someone.
