I’m so glad that David’s has opened a location in Chinook so I can enjoy a great cup of tea while I wander the mall. I’m no longer stuck with the disappointing Teavana. The setup here is standard to their other locations, but its a little bit bigger than some stores, like their Southcentre digs. It wasn’t terribly busy on the Saturday afternoon I popped in. I’ve seen worse. I was immediately offered a sample of their seasonal pumpkin chai. When it came time to order though, there was a little bit of a wait. When it was my turn the girl helping me was excellent and knew her stuff. I wanted to try the seasonal«Mom’s Apple Pie» so I thought I would get a cup to go. She made the suggestion to try it as a latte. Excellent suggestion. I really enjoyed my beverage, though the apple pie flavour isn’t something I would want to have in my regular supply. I also grabbed a pouch of Mango Lassi which is excellent and will be for a few mugs in the near future. The one negative experience here was that one of the employees was more interested in socializing than helping anyone. It looked like she was dedicated to making the to-go beverages but when I was waiting to be helped she didn’t have any drinks to make. She was chatting with an employee who came by from another store. And chatting. And chatting. Even when the other employees got some orders in she spent more time chatting with someone else who came in the store than focusing on getting everyone’s drinks made.
