Tried this because of the high ratings, meat was hard, soup was watery, the noodles were flavorless.

Their shoyu ramen is great. I don’t even mind that they use the noodles that come in instant noodle packs, because the base, ramen egg, naruto, and meat are all done to perfection. The takoyaki is also something worth trying. Really sweet staff and its enjoyable returning to this shop each weekend.

I was excited to see a 4 star ramen shop close to home. I was pretty disappointed. The pork in my ramen was flavourless. The egg lacked any special taste as well. The broth wasn’t anything to write home about. I’ve had better at places that were rated less than this. The previous people who rated this place were either taste blind or friends/family of the owners. There is nothin 4 star about this place. It is what it is. Food Court Ramen.

Gave this spot a shot and it delivered. Good price for a good amount of food. The chicken karrage was done perfect, with no spicy stuff. The ramen was done great and was super delicious. Portions was great. The service was good, as it is made after you order, it took 10 mins. The staff there, very friendly and even with our language barrier, she tried very hard to understand(my wife was asking if the karrage had milk products in it). It can be hard to choose what to eat as some of the spots in this area are offering the same thing. I kinda wanted to go authentic and this was a good choice.

I randomly stumbled upon this ramen food stall while walking around the mall and was excited to see ramen available in the food court setting. I decided to order my favourite shio ramen. The shio ramen broth was surprising flavourful! It was light and not greasy. The noodles were chewy. There was a fully cooked half an egg. I would have preferred a soft boiled egg. There were also bamboo shoots, corn, seaweed, green onions and four pieces of chashu. Yes, four, albeit smaller, pieces included for the price of $ 7.55! The chashu had fat marbling but it was not as tender as I would have liked. The price point made the bowl of ramen to be worthwhile to eat. Is this the best ramen I have ever tried? No, it is not. But in Burnaby, this is definitely a winner! No need to drive to downtown unless I want a downtown adventure. No need to drive 5 minutes away from Metrotown along Kingsway for ramen unless I want to. I can shop and grab a quick meal of ramen at one stop! I would comeback to this food stall when I am craving ramen and I am in the area. This tastes much better than the one ramen restaurant in the Metropolis at Metrotown mall. Now for other points of the location I do not like. Crystal Mall tends to be a busy. I wish there was more seating available as the food court seating fills up fast during peak hours. You either have to keep pacing around in circles looking for a table to be freed up(while your food gets cold), find a table first and sit there while your friends order food first or you have to have the courage to ask strangers if you can join their table to eat your food(if you are eating alone and okay getting rejected). Lastly, horrible parking situation for those unfamiliar with the mall.
