Slow service, below average dish choices with prices on the higher side for small-ish portions. The waitresses there know nothing much about serving industry. They don’t serve you water and expect you to order bubble tea as often as possible but I think this kind of mentality is wrong! Restaurants should still serve water whether or not customers plan to order drinks. It’s common knowledge. The better you take initiative in serving, the higher the chance to score you some extra tips. The lack of service makes me never really want to tip and if I do, I do 5% because for me to actually tip between 10−15%. It requires more effort and legwork!

A-OK. The staff is pretty good about letting customers hang out here for a few hours. We come here every so often with a large group of friends. The bubble tea is fairly good here but I usually stick with my traditional milk tea. The snacks are okay. The spicy wontons were a bit too salty the last time we came here; I think I prefer No. 1 Noodle House’s spicy wontons and deep fried squid. Nonetheless, it’s a still a decent hangout here, can’t complain much. They only accept cash or debit.

The bubble tea here is ok. Nothing too special and has never been any special. I used to come here a lot when I was student. One of the good things is that its close to SFU meaning that most of my SFU friends would hang around here. Secondly this place is awesome that it opens late. But not that late any more. In the old days it used to open till 3 am. Now its only till 1 am. The décor is ok. But this place is meant for Asian Asian. If it wasn’t super late, I would travel somewhere else for bubble tea. Today, I ordered the grass jelly milk green tea and I found it a bit too much ice. It just doesn’t bring much of the flavor out. As well, the size is so so. I can get more for a better price somewhere else. Décor is alot cleaner than what it was like back in the past 10 years ago. This place has been around for a long time.

Their service is so bad I had to subtract 3 stars because their good food could not make up for how bad their service is. They constantly don’t have all the items on their menu. Their debit machine is constantly not working for CIBC debit cards. I was forced to cross the street once to withdraw cash from the karaōke ATM. Now they’ve come up with a new rule about not being able to order a side of rice with a side of chicken nuggets. What kind of business tells their customers how to eat?! The only reason I come back is because they’re open late and I’ve had The One too many times that month. Boo to your service and boo to your eating rules!

Just came here for a cold slushy, this is a casual location for some Asian foods and sweet drinks, bubble tea. They only take cash and only come if you’re in the area, there’s no need to make a trip out.

This place can be hard to find if you don’t know where it is. The interior is nicely decorated, clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. The service was very slow, the staff seemed confused as to who was supposed to wait on us. They kept glancing our way but no one approached us. Finally after a little discussion amongst themselves, someone came to take our order. The bubble tea and juices were good. We probably won’t order the condensed milk toast again, it was just blah. Soya Pudding was sold out :(A little good news, they have stamp cards for drinks.

This place is super empty, i mean so empty it’s looks like the CIA cleared out the place to investigate a crime scene. Now that i painted an image on how EMPTYTHISPLACEWASDURINGMY5:12pm visit. The waiter wouldn’t let us sit on the big comfy seats by the door. Her reason was incase the«to go customers» come and order they need need a place to sit… i counted over 130 seats in this place.

I was there yesterday. Their food is not the same as I had taste in Taiwan. They can’t say it’s Taiwanese restaurant by serving chemical bubble tea. I ordered marinated chicken legs, but it came out with fried cans flattened chicken legs. They told me that they always do that this way. I don’t understand how they change the basic component of that marinated chicken leg. It supposed to be light brownish and UNFRIED. I don’t understand how that can be changed into their own way of fried chicken legs with marinated sauce. They should state that on the menu that it is fried. If I weren’t too hungry at the time, I would have left already. I didn’t want to wait for another 15 minutes for them to cook a dish and it was about 11 pm.

Alright, alright… It’s been a couple of years since my first review, and I must say, Estea definitely stepped up their game. The food has improved a bit. New items have been added to the menu, bubble tea is always fresh. There was one time they ran out of curry(noooo!) but everything else on the menu is just as good. But what really got me was that their service has really turned around. Normally it would take 5 – 10 mins to flag down a waitress, but the last couple of times I’ve been here, they were very attentive. Followed up with us when we got our food and gave us water promptly when we asked. Food was about a 10 minute wait. Drinks were about 5 mins. Solid 3.5 stars. Maybe in the near future, they’ll get a full star ;)

It is rare for me to give 4 stars for a bbt place but when you combine eye candy, spaciousness, free parking and casual atmosphere, that’s why. They make the best green tea ice cream slush, and pretty consistent pearls too. And pretty patient, I’ve worked on my laptop close to an hour easily, no complaints. Still a safe crowd late Nite. just debit and cash.

A really quaint place obviously aimed for what this place is meant for and was surprised on how well done it looks inside compared to what it looks like in the outside. Bit of a language barrier for some of the servers but cool when you’re with a Taiwanese. He he. So we ordered fish cakes, toast and I had myself a rose bubble tea. I would consider it decent and I have to say that the fish cakes were a bit chewy like… Gum?! Oh well, they have a ton of options on the menu so nothing to fret!

They’ve seriously upped their BBT game; I’m finding better quality and consistency than Dragonball these days, and that to me is the bar. Pudding slush is my fave. Be prepared for a brain freeze, these are blended so finely and densely. Tonight they ran out of pearls which was disappointing, but the slush’s stand good enough on their own to drink without pearls. That being said, next time I’ll call ahead to make sure they have ‘em.

The food is quite oily, the taste is just okie, not so good as I expected. The drink and dessert section are pretty awesome thought especially the green tea ice cream slush and the yogurt slush. Overall, not a place that I would wanna try again. ;)

Has to say this is one of my favorite spots for Taiwanese food. The GREENTEASLUSH with PUDDING is the BEST! :) The Beef wrap is great too, and we love the Xiaolongbao! If you order their steam veggie, they are fine too. People are too harsh at this place, they are busy with a big dining hall filled of tables; it’s expectedly slow of course :) I still love this place!

I came here twice in the last month, and their service has gotten noticeably better than when I came about a year ago. Their omelette rice is awesome and their bubble tea is one of the best, especially their green tea ice cream. The food is decently priced for what you get. The restaurant itself is clean and there are a lot of tables that can accommodate a busy dinner rush. Definitely recommend this place!

Meh. Nothing to write home about. It can be a bit difficult to find. The sign on the street is only in Chinese(as far as I can tell). There is plenty of parking behind the store though. They have all the standard to expect at a Taiwanese place. I ordered their passionfruit black tea which was fine and their popcorn chicken with rice. While it did to job of filling me up, I didn’t particularly like their rendition of it. There was something off about coating on the chicken and the veggies that came with it were limp and lackluster. Service was predictably average. We were a large group so it was to be expected. I should have gone somewhere else nearby.

Just to balance the review out… I had to give it a 5 star. Their service is just so-so, lots of staffs but still manages to be really slow. HOWEVER, their rice omelette is one of the best. I haven’t found a place that topped here yet. So maybe order take out instead :)?

Bad service. Got ignored while trying to flag someone to take our orders. Then we had to wait 30 mins for the orders to arrive. Then trying to flag someone to get the bill. Drinks are powdered and overpriced for what they are. There are better options elsewhere.

Like so many before me expressed, Estea lacks service. I walked into the place and wasn’t greeted for a few minutes. Standing there like idiots, my friend had to go look for someone to seat us. When we were finally seated, it took a while to get a waitress to take our orders. For some reason, my drink took an extra 25 minutes to make. My friend had his drink and all our food had already come out. I understand if it’s a 5… maybe 10 minute difference, but 25 was too long in between. The food and drinks were typical BBT items. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Even though it doesn’t compare to Asia, Estea does have one of the better bubble teas in town. They’re run by authentic Taiwanese people, and best of all, their product is consistent. After the latest round of renovations a few years back, this one looks very similar to the Richmond chain. Parking is available on the street. There are also a few spots in the back in a small private lot. Today my waitress looked like a porcelain doll. It was actually a bit freaky. Normally they’re dolled up(no pun intended), but this one was like something you’d find in a horror flick. Not sure if this is a turn-on for FOB guys, but in Canada, this don’t fly. They have the typical snacks you’d find in other Taiwanese places. The snacks are, to be honest, quite mediocre. Sometimes the food is soggy too. But the good news is that they won’t kill you. It’s the drinks that generally stand out. I like how they don’t make them too sweet(common problem with other places), and that there is at least the choice to have certain drinks made with real fruit — some other places use nothing but cancerous powder. There are other choices in this area(such as The One and Pearl House), but this one easily has the largest seating area. Something to keep in mind if you don’t want to fight hordes of Asian kids to get to your seat.
