I came here recently for lunch. Food 3⁄5: Extensive menu with typical dishes. I usually just order a few rolls and nigiri from this place. Rice a bit on the softer side, but decent. Service 4⁄5: Family owned. The father is super friendly, very service-oriented, borderline over-eager. Ambiance 2⁄5: Odd location in an old strip mall. Hole-in-wall ish, zero ambiance, sparse, but clean. Value 2.5÷5: Typical prices, but you can get comparable food at restaurants with a much better ambiance.

I read the reviews on here before going to this place and didn’t actually want to go but my husband couldn’t be bothered walking over to the one at Holdom. I was nervous about what he would come back with but the food was delicious, and cheap! For $ 25 we got enough to do three meals and it tasted super good. I would go back again.

This restaurant is in a spot I’d never think to look but being introduced this weekend to Tom’s Video next store, we thought we’d grab a bite before hunting down that perfect flick. Service: eager(it was empty when we arrived) and quite speedy. Our food came out in a strange order —(first roll, udon, sake, miso, gyoza, tempura sauce, second roll, and then the tempura) Atmosphere: slightly cold but it seemed clean. Food: tasty, a little salty, and definitely not the best compared to price. Price: too much for what we got but not over the top like other japanese restaurants in town. Overall: 3 stars is the best I can give. It was decent and we had a nice time.

Bad… and expensive for what you get. I tried this place because its an office tradition to order sushi every Friday… and they keep going back to this place. The sushi was too salty(how does that even happen?) and mushy. Which totally messed up the taste of the cucumber roll. I tried a second time because I didn’t bring a lunch to work, and decided to go for the beef udon instead. This wasn’t any better. There was only two small pieces of beef and some soggy pieces of tempera thrown on top of oily and salty broth. I had to down a litre of water afterwards to feel like I wasn’t going to overdose on salt. Only highlight was that the noodles were nicely cooked. But shouldn’t that be a given? With this degree of mediocrity I don’t think I will be joining in on this tradition anymore, unless they switch restaurants.

Ew. Worst sushi place ever. Kinda sad that Claudia doesn’t explain much of the place. I had the worst experience in a sushi place. It is a Korean owned sushi place. Back then when it was ran by authentic Japanese, it was actually good sushi… I walked into the restaurant and I was not greeted at all, the chefs just ignored and was speaking Korean loudly. The most annoying attitude ever, then the waitress who didn’t even try to seat us. We sat down ourselves, and then she ignored us for a long while, which was like 5 minutes before she even came over to serve us tea and the menu. The tea was rice tea, a Korean stylized tea. Totally not impressed. We ordered some bento boxes and one of their special rolls. When the food came, I was very dissatisfied with the machine made California rolls. The teriyaki was so saturated with the sauce, like thick heavy sauce, and the green salad was very inaccurate. The special rolls, don’t even start. It was just terrible. This place only runs on the business of the students at Art Institute right behind the store. A terrible place to eat, and will NEVER go back.
