Excellent cheap 2 € breakfast of coffee and fresh croissant. Good desserts, we tried the date pie and tiramisu both were yummy.

I really like this place, the Louise sandwich is really good. It is ham and cheese but the bread makes the sandwich. I had to get another at the airport. I also tried the ham and cheese quiche, it was okay (I’m a quiche snob). The croissants are really good, the cappuccino is nice and strong, coffee is just okay. I think the price is cheap for what it is but once again I am used to NYC prices and I also work in one of the most expensive neighborhood.

While fresh with variety, the costs were surprising.
Very similar to Whole Foods selection, but at 20% more in cost.

Tout le monde connait la chaîné de fast food sain belge Exki.
On peut y manger (ou emporter) différents en-​cas: sandwiches, salades, soupes, quiches, petits plats,…
Le matin: petit déjeuner avec viennoiserie et café/​thé.
Pour les amis du sucré: tartes (de chez Françoise !), brownies, etc.
Le concept et la nourriture: on adhère ou non. C’est un peu cher mais pas mauvais (à mon goût) et plutôt sympa pour éviter le traditionnel sandwich à midi.
Celui situé juste entre la Gare Centrale et la Grand Place profite d’une situation idéale pour y voir passer touristes, locaux, étudiants et hommes d’affaires. Un vrai melting pot ! Et c’est cela son soucis. Non pas dans la diversité mais plutôt dans la quantité.
2 étoiles dont une est pour le lieu (surtout l’étage: très cosy) et l’autre pour les produits Exki.
Mais comme je le dis, pas d’étoiles de plus: l’aménagement des «rayons» est catastrophique.
Les caisses sont trop proches de l’entrée et juste devant les frigos et les soupes, ce qui fait que même hors des heures de pointes, on finit toujours par rentrer dans quelqu’un et renverser la moitié de son plateau. C’est toujours le b*rdel !
Je trouve le frigo relativement petit pour le lieu et mal situé. En plus, avec les portes coulissantes automatiques, il y a de quoi prendre un coup de froid en faisant la file (enfin, le semblant de file) …
Donc par rapport à d’autres Exki de la Capitale, ce n’est surement pas mon préféré malgré les hauts plafons et le charme de l’étage.

Concept dans l’air du temps, grand choix de sandwichs et salades frais ainsi que de quiches ou lasagnes chaudes.
Le bar à soupe est alléchant au premier abord, mais déçoit vite quand on constate le manqué d’éducation de certains clients qui n’hésitent pas à y plonger le nez…

EXKI!!! COME TO AMERICA!!!
I really wish this quick health food chain was in America. Right across from our hotel, we hit up EXKI each morning for breakfast and a sandwich for the train.
Salads and Sandwiches can be had for 3 – 5 euro.
1 euro Chocolate croissants
.90 euro croissants
1.90 euro yogarts
1.90 euro café Americano
1.60 macchiato
1.50 euro mini — salads
1 euro fresh orange juice
2 – 4 euro for a variety of tasty desserts.
Everyone is very friendly, it didn’t matter which location we visited. They charge a bit more if you sit down, but we just got everything «take away» and ate it in the adjoining park, or me delivering «breakfast in bed» to my sleepy wife back in the hotel.

Exki is revolutionary for its ‘fast-​food’ and ‘take-​away’ preparations, however using local, organic ingredients, products, and sugars. For example, sporting vitamin-​enriched Belgian energy drinks called Tao and whipping up lattes with alternative biologique milks, it was awesome. Exki made me so happy to see this business thriving in and around the city of Brussels; multiple locations.

En temps normal j’essaye vraiment d’éviter ce genre de chaîné, mais après une heure passée à vagabonder chez Tropismes ma librairie préférée, il nous reste juste 15 min avant le début de notre séance aux Galeries. Entre le Quick et les bars à touristes, le choix est vite fait, Exki me voilà !
Je me sens honteuse de le dire, mais j’ai bien apprécié l’ambiance de la boutique avec cette déco en bois très «green». Au niveau du concept, on est totalement dans la tendance: un self service avec des produits sains et naturels. Dans les vitrine, tout est beau, et donne envie. Pour moi ce sera un café latte frappé et une mascarpone fruits rouges, miam.
C’est au niveau des tarifs que ça se gâte, la part de gâteau à 4euros, pour une boutique avec un débit pareil, non ce n’est pas donné. Le must de la radinerie, le petit supplément pour manger sur place, 40cents par produit, ce qui commence à faire sur un combo plat, boisson, dessert, surtout quand les tables sont sales.

Super bon endroit pour manger frais et équilibré.
Petites salades, grandes salades. Petits et grands sandwichs, soupes, tartes de légumes, salades de fruits, yaourts, muffins …
Pas mal de produit bio aussi.
Côté prix c’est correct nous avons pris 2 parts de tartes, salade verte et desserts 17 €

Exki is obviously a Brussels favorite. I felt like it was following me during my weekend away in Brussels, I swear there was one almost on every other corner. They even had one in the Brusselss airport. It was destined to be tried, and afterwards it is clear why this is a popular place, I wish they would open some up in Geneva. I loved the green, fair trade, organic, healthy concept. This location was EXTREMELY busy even at the very non eating time of 3:00pm. They have a downstairs and upstairs eating area. It is a bit confusing once you enter, as it’s easy to be deceived and think they only have cold items, but if you explore behind the first initial cold salad and sandwich section, you will find soups, and other hot items. They also have a nice coffee bar with some great looking drinks. There is no line really, you just need to make your way through to whichever food station looks of interest to you, and then wait in the somewhat line to grab whatever it is you desire. We grabbed some carrot salad, a hot cheesy pita sandwich, and a slice of Banana crème coconut pie. I was surprised by how fresh everything tasted even though it was all pre made and pre packaged. Everything was very tasty, and I loved the Banana pie!
Tip: the bathroom here requires an extra charge, even if you buy something at Exki. You have to pay an attendant 0.30 euro for use of the bathroom. You then receive a 0.30 Euro coupon off your next purchase at Exki.

I always start on trips with really ambitious culinary plans. But then… I burn out. I get full! And feel sluggish! And don’t want another dinner of unlimited frites with jug after jug of beer*!
*ok, «don’t want» is inaccurate; can’t handle, more like
Enter Exki.
Small place, big options. Fresh and green and affordably priced and… the perfect thing to give my body a meal’s worth of respite from the indulgences of Belgium.
Salad options a-​plenty (including many with delicious lentil additions, smoked fish, cubes of fruit), sandwiches (mega-​extra-​bonus points for the really clear signage indicating the exact ingredients/​sandwich), soups and desserts.
I went for an olive tapenade baguette that was crusty-​yet-​soft (a challenging balance to perfect), and basically self-​high-​fived (see:
) when I located some kombucha. Kombucha! Love it. Settled on some cranberry kombucha and was pleased as punch. Oh, but wait…
…did you say there was dessert?
Yes! Speculoos cheesecake, carrot cake, lemon meringue and my ultimate pick: a healthy… erm…healthiER banana crème pie. Ground hazelnut crust, topped with slices of banana and some coconut crumble topping. Indulgent without requiring the elasticized waistbands KNOWWHATIMEAN?
Unilocal note: I found the flow in the store kindof confusing (sit in vs. take-​away; food on both sides with no logical way to queue) but that’s a minor detail. Go here… or one of the several other Exki locations around Brussels.

Awesome — healthy option for people ‘on the go’ in central Brussels.

C’est mon Exki préféré parmi les 18 cafés bio de la même chaîné que l’on peut trouver à Bruxelles.
Situé dans un cadre superbe, place du marché aux herbes, la bâtisse vaut le détour à elle seule ! J’y ai passé toute mes matinées quand je n’avais pas internet chez moi: idéal pour travailler en toute tranquillité !
Les + qui font qu’on y revient:
— Le café est, comme son nom l’indique «exki» et si vous commandez avant 11h, il né vous coûtera qu’ 1 euro ! (essayez le macchiato, miam !)
— Une connexion wifi gratuite de 30 minutes (mais vous pouvez renouveler en allant chercher un autre ticket)
— Montez à l’étage ! La vue est belle, c’est très lumineux et plus tranquille qu’en bas.
— Si vous avez un petit creu, la bouffe est fraiche et assez «santé» (ça change des friteries!). Chaque mois, il y a un légume de saison à l’honneur, et les plats qui le contiennent sont moins chers.
Les fast-​food Exki, sont mes points de repère dans Bruxelles. Je sais que je né serai jamais déçue. Ça rend le bio bio-​tiful !
