It is Monday Aug 31 and about 5:45 pm we just got out of last City bus tour, it started to rain pretty hard — we the party of three thought we will stop by for 20 – 30 minutes grab a couple of beers. But unfortunately the staff told me that will not be possible because the restaurant mandates that we EAT something. Really! Just to be clear the place was not even remotely packed — it is Monday at 5:45 pm after all. So I am denied service because I want a drink. …ok then I will take my business someplace else I guess.

It’s a five minute walk from my hotel. In a business district, but still has a nice, little neighborhood coffee shop vibe. Had a large macchioto, was almost pint sized. Food was great and much needed when I arrived.

Chicken curry, honey mustard ham, BBQ bacon & chicken, hummus veggie, brie & bacon… Il y en a pour tous les goûts! Enjoy your meal !

I popped in here for an early breakfast at the recommendation of Trip Advisor. It was about a 20 minute walk from where I am staying and the café was empty when I arrived around 8 am. It quickly filled up and a lot of commuters stopped in for a coffee to go. The service was fast and friendly, and with only one person working, she was pre-making bagel sandwiches in anticipation of a busy lunch hour rush. The scrambled eggs, bacon and baguette were fine. The bacon was precooked and warmed in the microwave, in which the scrambled eggs were also cooked. That’s something I would expect at almost any bodega or sandwich shop in New York, but I just mention it to distinguish between a diner-type breakfast, which this definitely is not.

Delish is located in the heart of Brussels and is very close to De Brouckere metro stop. This is the favourite café of our friend who is a local. You know what they say when you are in a foreign land; eat where the locals eat. They have a selection of sandwiches, flatbreads, wraps etc. They also do coffee/tea and the usual drinks. The staff are friendly and polite too. They also have free Wifi! We ordered a ham & cheese panino, a tomato and pesto panino and a chicken curry wrap(for our local friend). The food was well made, the panini toasted to a nice crisp texture, whilst being easy enough to cut through with incisors. To sum it up in one line: Affordable, healthy food that tastes nice in the heart of Brussels with free wifi and a great service.

I can’t attest to the deliciousness of Delish’s dishes, but I can say, when I was desperately in need of some wifi to figure out just where the Hell I was after the stressful debacle that encompassed my time at Brussels airport, Delish was there for me with a friendly, well-spoken staff and a nice list of coffee drinks to warm me up on a rainy day. Compared to the medinas in Morocco I would spend the next few weeks walking through, the streets of Brussels are fairly easy to navigate, although signage is still lacking to some degree. My GPS signal was pretty much nonexistent, so after guessing which train stop I needed to get off on, I really needed to pull up a map on an internet connection to get well situated. Delish prominently displayed their free wifi sign, at a time when few other businesses were open so early in the morning. What a relief. After getting settled in with a connection I decided to sample one of their signature coffee drinks, a mocha with a chantilly cream topping and real chunks of Belgian chocolate at the bottom. I didn’t know I needed it, but once I had it damn was I grateful. It was the perfect pick-me-up for the sour attitude I was experiencing after dealing with such bad customer service, and the gals here helped relieve some of that too. Their welcoming demeanor and smiles really made a difference for me that morning, and helped change my impression of the otherwise cold city to that point.

Been here twice on my vacation. Fresh delicious food. Highly recommend! I Had the chicken curry wrap and the smoked salmon bagel. My friend had the croissants and the bagel with Brie and honey. Coffee and espresso were also great.

Highly recommended by other reviews so thought we’d try it. Delighted that it opens at 7am since we arrived in Brussels very early. Very polite staff, great service, delicious food at reasonable prices. Can’t wait to come back sometime in the future

Great prices, and decent offerings. The best thing is that they are open for breakfast at 7am which can be hard to find in Brussels. I’m looking forward to trying a breakfast bagel. Shame they had no bagels when we came, or smoothies. But for the prices all can be forgiven. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quick, healthy meal. This definitely fills a gap that is missing in Brussels — no kebab or frites! I appreciated the friendly staff(English speaking)

I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much from this place, and probably the main reason I went in was the big sign on the door that said free wifi. That said… I was pleasantly surprised with my breakfast. A ham and cheese panini that actually tasted really good… to go along with my hot chocolate made with real Belgian chocolate chips — hard to go wrong there! Beware if you go downstairs to use the toilet — even short people will probably have to duck to avoid banging their heads on the stairway. Delish certainly isn’t a gourmet place to go, but the food is good, and the staff is quite friendly. And yes, the wifi worked. :-)
