My regular doctor is here, and I’ve come to enjoy the holistic service approach of this all-in-one almost-hospital. This place has general practices, psychiatrists, a medical imaging area, nutritionist, dentist, chiropractor, physiotherapist, chemist and nurses who lovingly jab you with needles when you require a blood test or shot. They bulk bill in this bizarre parallel universe way of «pay thirty dollars» and«send us the medicare cheque you get in the mail» which makes me think I’m being diddled in some way, and I don’t understand it. But the front-of-house staff are so charming that well, who cares, because the services are always done well, from the psychiatrist who told me «not to worry» about the parallel universe bulk-billing, to the CT technician who scanned my brain and told me that I shouldn’t worry about the bizarre bulk-billing paradigm. And my usual doctor(and no I’m not going to let the world know in case someone steals my identity) is calm, methodical and has on occasion ventured the correct second opinion when I’ve been told to go to the Sydney Melanoma Clinic for a skin blemish which wasn’t cancer, thus saving me the paranoia. What I’m saying is that he was right, and he wasn’t afraid to provide the correct duty of care which was to tell me the right thing, rather than sending me off to a referral to somewhere because of some legal«what if I’m wrong and he sues me» thing. Thats why I like my doctor, and why I like this place. You absolutely do not need an appointment for this place, I have never ever booked an appointment to see my doctor, and have never had to wait more than half an hour to see my usual doctor.

I booked and waited 4 days for an appointment then when I turned up they had lost the booking. Not only that they refused to squeeze me into their schedule. I rebooked and waited another week and when I turned up again they told me the appointment was at the time but another week away. I know this was wrong because I had been very careful entering the details in my diary after being messed around the first time. The staff on the front desk are rude and arrogant and often ignore you even if there is no one else waiting for assistance.

Had to come to this establishment for one of these work related medicals while living in Sydney. The doctor who handled my case was trustworthy and discreet; someone you would have complete confidence in. A great establishment to also have to come to for those most important travel vaccinations prior to going away overseas. It is fairly discreet, confident and welcoming. Has that traditional medical centre feel, and has definitely stood the test of time. Nothing much else can be said. They do bulk bill from what I can recall, and although you are sitting in comfortable blue chairs(definitely that medical centre feel) you are not waiting too long, and the consulting rooms are quite spacious; at times you would be forgiven for thinking that you are in a hospital; or that you are about to be discharged from hospital kind of feeling. Very professional service, and it was obvious that the doctor who treated me on this occasion has performed many workplace medicals(especially of the pre-employment kind) in the past. You can trust this establishment in providing quality care should you ever need it in and around in the Wynyard area in the city on any given weekday.
