Ambiance was just what we were looking for; friendly, lively and entertaining. The perfect place to grab drinks, a pizza and enjoy spring.

I came here with a group of 8, we made a reservation and got a table in the back room of the restaurant. It was really nice, not crowded even though the other tables were full. We got 6 pizzas, a range of meat and vego, they were all very nice. The pizzas are quite thin but the crust still holds the pizza together and has a nice crisp taste. We also got the garlic bread which was very unique as it was quite sweet and sticky(we guessed it had caramelized onion on it). We also got a bonus pizza too! Turns out a firefighter ordered a pizza but then got called off to a fire, so the waitress gave it to us :) Price was pretty good, worked out to be $ 30 per person for 6 pizzas, garlic bread and drinks. They also offer a $ 30pp all you can eat for 10+ people.

A great find. Great service, delicious gluten free pasta and with lamb that they prepared specially. Ricotta cheesecake with salted caramel sauce will be worth the extra long run tomorrow. Highly recommend.

From Order To Table: Ill timing. Like when you mention you didn’t like your siblings ex days before they get back together. Service-ometer: Cookie cutter retail uncaring service. Stomachability: Like a home cooked dinner from mum. Besides its pitfalls Mad Pizza makes quite good pizza. Expensive pizza. But good pizza. That is to be expected from a pizza chain that has been successful. Or anywhere that does pizza for that matter. Service is particularly bad — unless you’re getting take away. Don’t eat in — they’re either really short staffed or the staff have short attention spans. Support a local Italian restaurant if you can instead.

This place is quite amazing for delicious pizza! Decided to grab a pizza near where I was staying and I ended up here. I saw on Unilocal that it was highly rated, and thought I give it a go! I ordered the Hiavanna pizza, and its like a hawaiian pizza but with tomatoes and bits of basil spread on top. They make their pizza’s on a thin crust and it was done to perfect. The pizza was very tasty, and did not feel unhealthy to eat. It’s decently priced, and a single pizza can feed two people comfortably. The décor of his place is awesome, and has a great bar vibe. They have helpful and friendly staff, that helped me decide on what pizza to get. I also suggest signing up for their newsletter which will get you a $ 10 take away credit, and get you one of their delicious pizza’s for only $ 9! This pizza is full of flavor and is doesn’t leave you feeling heavy afterwords. I will definitely be getting more pizza from them in the near future! It is slightly pricy for a pizza place, but it is definitely quality over quantity at this restaurant. TLDR: Great pizza spot! Expect higher quality food than large quantity.

If you’re looking for a cozy place, with plenty of Italian atmosphere whilst remaining unpretentious, serving up gorgeous pizza and drinks, this is the place to go. Went there for a business meeting and received a ‘free hug from Jonno’ upon checking in on Unilocal.Jonno wasn’t there though, so I guess I’ll have to redeem my hug next time I’m back. We ordered cocktails that came in cute little jars and the Almafi pizza was delicious and packed with prawns… thin crust, lots of toppings and cheese, just the way I like it. I can usually finish a single pizza on my own but couldn’t do it with this one, because the toppings were pretty generous. Very friendly service and I believe I’ll be back for more.

Decided to drop in as I was craving pasta and know they have the $ 12 Lunch any pasta pizza or salad special and was reeled in starving. After the lovely help of the girl working there patiently dealing with my indecisivness i finally went with the CARENVINO Pork & fennel sausage pieces in tomato and porcini ragout with Taglietti pasta & extra garlic! mmm It was dead quiet being just before 3pm which i didn’t mind to relax and chill with their free wifi. My food arrived fresh and fast just like in Italy. A nice sized bowl with hearty flavoursome food i could of kept eating forever. I also sometimes for takeout in the evenings get the gluten free pizzas for only $ 12 my faves are the Positano– seafood and Otto Bianco! potato. Im not too much of a risk taker and love to stick with these. I have also been naughty and tried the Nuteena nutella ricotta with fresh vanilla bean ice-cream dolce dessert pizza gluten free base. was yummy but was cold by the time i ate it at home so prob better to have eating at the restaurant. I rate this as my go to for fresh delish light pizza and wanting to try more on the menu!

Deux soirées deux soirées différentes !!! La première très bien et la seconde pleine de reproches … Trop d’huile ds la salade, manqué de papier aux toilettes, un peu long … Mais ça reste agréable dans l’ensemble

Good pizza with high quality ingredients and interesting menu of combinations. Pizza crust was thin, which I prefer, but slightly burnt. Price is comparable to other deluxe topping pizzas, but what with being slightly overcooked, having to enter the lair of drunken hipsters at the bar every evening, and having so much overlap with other pizza joints nearby, I’d rather get it walked to my door by the delivery place instead. On the plus side, they were really quick for takeaway(about 15 minutes), and they are open a bit later than others(midnight most nights) on account of being a bar as well.

I’d like to go 4 stars here, and honestly I probably could and wouldn’t feel too bad about it, but I just don’t think I can give 4 star to a thin crust pizza joint… I know it’s a personal choice, and I know that purist will say that thin crust is the only way to go, but I like a thick, gooey slab of dough with a crunchy crust covered in cheese and assorted toppings of choice. So, while everything about Mad Pizza was done really well, I’m only throwing it 3 stars. The décor is cool, if a little contrived, but it goes with the Italian/NY style pizzeria look they’re after. The guys working the bar were friendly and quick despite being slammed. And our pizzas were out way sooner than I thought they’d be. And kudos for great chill house music, I love the vibe that sets in a place. Honestly I don’t remember what pie I had, but there were there at the table, and they were all good, crispy and fresh, with a nice balance of cheese and veggies and meat. I also ordered one of the garlic bread starters, which was a bit steep at $ 10, but was f-ing delicious! All in all, a nice place for pizza in Surry Hills if you like thin crust, but for me, I’ll keep on the prowl for a deep dish Chicago style pie of my own…

What a great pizza joint! A group of 9 of us came here in July for a birthday and happy to say we had a brilliant night. There is the most amazing feel to this place, its loud(thanks to their house DJ), its easy and casual, exactly what we were looking for. Word of warning, make a booking because this place can easily form a queue of desperate diners out the front. Now onto the food, the pizzas were not only easy on the eye, they tasted amazing. We certainly were not disappointed. Definitely recommend if you want a fun night out.

I was pleasantly surprised by the margarita pizza at Mad. The crust is thin and crunchy, almost like a cracker, and they take the trouble to distinguish themselves from all those other nameless pizzas you’ve eaten by adding a good portion of tangy basil leaves and bocconcini(little round mozzarella balls). At $ 20, you are paying for quality over quantity here, and the pleasure of eating a relatively healthy pizza in a laid back atmosphere. Also cool, they have gluten free pizza for people who can’t eat wheat.

My friend was moving back to Ireland and needed a restaurant booking for 16 people on a Monday night and found this place. Really cool atmosphere and a nice friendly staff. Even if you are at a table, you go up and order, which saves a lot of the hassle of figuring out the bill at the end. I was going to order the funghi pizza but the guy said the quattro formaggio was better, so I got that. I was a bit disappointed as it wasn’t super tasty — it had four cheeses, pine nuts and chili but didn’t really taste the chili. Tried one of my friend’s hawaiian pizza and that was good. I do like the thin crust. If you check in on Facebook, you get a shot of limoncello, which is cool. Would definitely come back, want to try the other pizzas.

Friends? Check. Good food/pizza? Check. Cool place and ambiance? Check. It’s the place you gather your friends for a casual dinner at a hip place that’s also centrally located on Crown and Oxford. And hey, sometimes they even have live music. They’ve got a bar but you come here to eat and have a drink, get some energy for the night, and head off. Or in my case, be rolled out after having way too many slices of their tasty pizzas.

Nice funky atmosphere with provision for a live band out the back. Some really delicious pizza options here… though I was expecting the one with perri perri sauce would be hotter than it actually was.

oh, I love me some super thin crust pizza, especially when a place has some prosciutto and rocket to throw on it, so imagine my delight when I came across this place. To make it even better, they have a $ 10 lunch special-your pick of pies with a side of salad. There’s so many different pizza toppings and they have quite a menu of preselected pizzas to choose from. The interior is very stylish and had some great music playing in the background. Wait staff was friendly and very attentive. I wish I could take this place home with me.

I’m constantly delighted by the quality of the meals that come out of the Mad chains, it’s great to see a modern and funky establishment branch out in clever and exciting ways. The pizzas are authentic thin crust variety, crispy and healthy, made with fresh dough, and home made tomato sauce ingredients. The alternate ingredients are put together with imagination and seasonality, and taste perfect. This is really a Pizza place that takes care in preparation and presentation. The serving sizes are generous, and reasonably priced for the quality and area, so you’ll probably make this your regular haunt. Pizzas and Pastas range from $ 10-$ 20 depending on their size, and the deserts start around $ 12.00

The Mad Pizza E Bar in Crown Street has a decidedly different vibe to the Mad Pizza in King’s Cross. The Crown Street store is definitely a lot roomier, and you actually have adequate space to move around between the tables, unlike in the King’s Cross Store. Also, there are a lot more tables to begin with! The music is also slightly funkier in Crown Street, which contributes to giving the shop a more contemporary, alternative vibe. If you’re on Oxford Street and don’t want to head over to the Cross for some Mad Pizza, this is the place to go. You can have the pizza you know the love, in an almost totally different setting!

After being in Asia for a month, I just wanted pizza and I wanted a good one. The Mad Pizza e bar was a good choice for me, the place has a nice calm, yet stylish atmosphere with cooking pots hanging over the bar as lamp shades and an inviting entrance with coloured hanging light globes. In the daytime I might be a bit sceptical about the fake plants hanging everywhere but at night with the well thought out lighting design, it really works. The Pizza’s and pasta are a fairly standard selection of traditional and modern Gourmet. I went for the Polpette, which featured meatballs, which was rather tasty. The dessert menu is impressive and as usual I was torn, I almost ordered the Pannacotta alla Vagnilia with berry compote and crushed Tim Tams, but I settled on the Mousse ala Caramello, it was the peanut gelato(very snickers) which got me — yum. I will be back, I need to try the Pannacotta.

Made with 100% authentic Italian ingredients and influence, Mad Pizza is the closest you’ll get to a taste of Rome without actually going there. Pizza is the star attraction here — super thin and crispy, it is arguably a healthy snack, if you consider the generous helping of tomato sauce, scant amount of pizza dough and high quality toppings. You won’t get bored by typical combinations here — their attitude is relaxed and as long as it tastes good, anything goes. Let your taste buds tingle with the Tuscano — shredded lamb shanks, spinach, red onion, peas, mint and feta. Or try the Amalfi — tiger prawns, ricotta, garlic, chilli, mint and tomato. I love these unusual toppings that show real thought and appreciation for flavour. Of course, the old favourites also feature here, and there’s no shortage of pepperoni, mozzarella and ham for traditionalists. In my opinion, you’d be mad not to go for pizza(pardon the pun), but they do offer a delicious looking array of Italian salads with delicious delicacies such as haloumi, prawns, mozzarella, spinach, rocket and feta. Then, of course, there’s pasta. But, as you’d expect from Mad Pizza, even this has a twist. Ever tried squid ink linguine? Well, here’s your chance. Finally, they have an assortment of Panini that look delicious too — fig jam, prosciutto, bocconcini, tomato and basil caught my eye in particular. But, I have to say, if you come here I’d recommend getting a pizza because that is what they do best. I couldn’t fit dessert in, but they sound delicious. Legend has it that the Romans used to make themselves sick so they could eat more, and this very bizarre tactic seems sensible at a place like Mad Pizza where everything is so delicious.
