This place is great. Good selection of pizzas. They make them from scratch right in front of you and the smell of them baking in the oven is inebriating. Try the dmitri and the gourmet! Secondly, the beer selection is EXCELLENT. And the guys behind the counter really know their stuff. Beers from Aussie and abroad feature on the diverse menu. I highly recommend it for locals(they don’t deliver).

I only got take away pizza… the inside looks admittedly inviting. As for the pie, it was suitable, with a variety of menu options and good quality toppings. Thin crust is my preference, so I was glad this place follows that trend. I guess I’m just not that into pizza — for it to really amaze me it needs a whole lot of toppings or some brilliant new combination I’ve never seen before that works incredibly well. Dimitri’s is above average quality but it’s still nothing special in my mind. I was also slightly annoyed at their timing; they told me 15 – 20 minutes and I came by after 20 to find them just putting it into the oven. I don’t mind waiting, at home, so just quote me a realistic time.

oh, Dimitri’s — thin base Pizza like you remember from when you were a kid. Complete with crack addicts roaming the streets outside :) [hey, better than Hipsters] No rubbery chicken and every base I’ve had has been completely cooked. Just the thing to soak up booze after a beer or five. Place is licenced, so beer and wine available from the fridge up front.

Absolute rubbish. Do not go here. How they can charge $ 20 for a pizza with rubbery chicken pieces and a half cooked base I’m not sure. Save your money and go to plenty of the other options around the area.

Dimitri’s Pizzeria serves fantastic pizza. Is that not enough? Okay, lets put it into perspective — lots of places do pizza now, of the gourmet variety. But remember a time when the only options were pizza hut and dominoes, or the dark dingy italian place with the big pizza oven and the whole family working in there? Well Dimitri’s is it. It’s so refreshing to go and eat that kind of pizza. It’s hard to describe but it’s the kind of pizza with traditional Italian herbs, traditional toppings and big servings. It’s a great place to stop in at during a pub crawl. There isn’t much seating but depending on the time of night you should be fine.

Simply put, Dimitri’s Pizzeria serves a damn good pizza. It’s a local favourite, and is almost always packed out for dinner. Unfortunately, it’s on a first-come-first-served basis, since they don’t take bookings! The ambience of the place feels authentically Italian. Granted, I’ve never been to Italy, but it feels like what an old, well-established pizzeria in Italy would feel like. Inside the shop, it’s cosy and warm, but there are also outdoor seating areas available if you’d like a bit of fresh air.

Situated on Crown St in Surry Hills this den of authentic pizza is one of those sit-down and crack into a cheap bottle of wine type places. It’s remarkable, that Dimitris feels so authentic, understated and traditional, in such a overly-trendy and cultured market. This place reminds me of a good-old family run business, moustache trending, and swearing owners make sure that you’re pizza is hot, and filled with an authentic, nurtured tastes, we’re all thankful for Italy. Don’t worry about the loud conversations, the relaxed atmosphere where you can casually chat to the owner and pizza makers, put your groceries in the fridge while you eat your lovingly made pizza. Great for take-away, it’s simple and traditional flavoursome sauces are all home made, and taste like you’ve walked into the home of a chef in Italy(who just happens to have a wood fire pizza oven)
