This is my weekly, family breakfast spot. Every Wednesday my mum, sister and I head down for our 7.15 breakfast(we have a standing booking — which is needed!) and it’s a brilliant mid-week pick me up. The food is awesome; the open omelette(tomatoes, manchego and chorizo), the potato rosti with poached eggs or the croquettes filled with leek and potatoes, surrounded by cheese sauce with a side of eggs. They’ve got coffee, juices and everything else that you could want down pat. At 7.30am every day of the week the place is buzzing with groups of people, business meetings and friends catching up. They’re regulars and new opening hours to include dinner, which I am yet to try, show’s they’re doings something right.

If in the area, and need of a delicious breakfast and great coffee, may I suggest this place. Specifically the potato rosti with bacon, poached eggs and rocket. The thyme chutney was a bonus. It was a massive serving, I was full for the rest of the day.

This welcoming North Perth café is a regular on the coffee rotation for me. Partly due to its close proximity to Hyde Park(where we walk our shaggy dog, Loki) but mostly due to its consistently great coffee, heavenly cakes and seasonal breakfast menus. My partner and I have been a fan of the Sayers brand since the original Leederville café opened in 2006, however Sayers Food was sold in 2014(two years after the ‘sister’ location opened) so that both Mark and Steph Sayers could invest undivided time, energy and love into their new venue in Northbridge. That passion definitely shows, both through warm interior design(with a large concrete bench, recycled bricks and a personalised Stormie Mills mural) and their seasonal menus full of fresh local produce. The Sayers team bake their own organic breads(loaves available for purchase), make their own chutneys and jams and source free range eggs from local farms. The whole venue emanates a sense of personal pride. Well justified, in my opinion. During our latest trip to Sayers, we ordered non-negotiable coffees alongside plates of potato rosti($ 20) and bean tagine($ 17). Service was reasonably swift, despite a bustling pace(with a permanent waiting crowd outside the door; rather sad for the neighbouring venue which always appears half-empty) and various people waiting for take-aways. The food was delicious. Beautifully presented, the beans sitting proudly in a ramekin on a timber board. The massive wedge of potato rosti, as always, was crisp and flavoursome with a generous pile of short-cut bacon, poached eggs, rocket and parmesan. Oh, and homemade chutney to seal the deal(not that the boy really cared about that). We always get mugs of coffee when at Sayers, in part due to their mismatched mugs and… mostly because I’m a caffeine addict. It’s consistently delicious(a Guatemalan floral blend, I think) with a great crema, always warm but never scalding on the tongue. Their other drinks options are equally lovely, including coconut water(with pineapple! I am easily excited), various smoothies, juices, chocolates and a short but well-rounded international wine list(with a large portion of local WA ‘Ad Hoc’ and ‘Pedestal’ varieties). Don’t let the crowds put you off, Sayers is definitely a venue worth waiting for.

One of my favourite places for breakfast. One of the best potato rosti’s — crispy and flavoursome. The combinations they have for breakfast are delicious. I love the setting! My bf also loves it because the serving sizes are decent and worth what you pay!

I really liked the layout of the indoor seating. There were tables laid around the outer walls and a large high rise communal table down the centre. We sat at the communal table close to the service area. Table service is provided which is a great asset. As I’ve been to Sayers before, I was quite familiar with a few of the menu options. Ms. D had a delicious potato rosti at Sayers and I thought about ordering that but I wanted something different and went for the Leek and Parmesan Croquettes($ 19). Before we arrived, Mr. T had thoughts of bruschetta for breakfast and was happy to see Bruschetta($ 19) on the menu. I ordered a Long Black and Mr. T ordered an Orange Juice to accompany breakfast. We had two beautiful breakfasts packed with different textures and flavours. Both were completely flawless and not a bite was left behind. I loved the croquettes! They were large in size but beautifully stuffed and crispy on the outside. Mr. T’s layers of tomato and feta were fantastically presented and just as tasty. Put Sayers Sister on your list!

Simply a wonderful hip café. The food is very nicely done, the style is eclectic and warm, and the service is friendly. The free mini-muffins as you wait in line are a great touch. On to the menu items: — The«pancetta, asparagus, spinach, poached egg, hollandaise, almond crumble & toasted sourdough» was really great. Not too big, and a wonderful combination of flavors. — The rösti was not our favorite. Yes, it was huge but a bit more one-dimensional in flavors. During a recent second visit with friends we sampled the menu further: — The lamb was great, but a bit rich on cumin, so it may not be for everyone. — The croquettes were quite subtle and delicate but the ‘sauce’ had a bit of sourness to the taste; we loved it, but again this may not be for everyone. — The corn bread was amazing. Drinks are excellent too. The spearmint milkshake was my personal favorite: super fresh and yummie! We’ve sat outside both times. Although the interior is cool & quirky it’s also a bit louder.

Without a doubt in my mind this would rank as one of Perth’s top cafes and eateries. I’ve been supporting them since their original concept in Leederville. Mark and Steph sayers have truly been major catalysts for food competition and food quality in Perth. The service is outstanding, the quality of food is outstanding and the coffee is fantastic. The ambience at this place needs to words to describe, go and see it for yourself. It reminds me of a little charming cottage and it is truly bringing life to this part of North Perth/Northbridge. The breakfasts here are absolutely sensational and their recipe for the eggs which is a well kept secret is a testament to the standards of where Perth is heading in terms of food quality. I have dined here so many times I’ve forgotten. For lunch I would definitely recommend the chicken pesto sandwich which is divine, and for breakfast you can’t go wrong with their eggs(in any shape) on their toasted ciabatta. It’s so sad. So sad I can never get a seat anymore due to people finding out how amazing this place is! — – 13 Apr, 2014 — – No matter how many times you come. Both Sayers and Sayers Sister will remain the best place for breakfast in Perth. Congratulations to Steph and Mark and the staff for a venue that actually serves some of the best quality food I have ever witnessed. –Keegan — – 07 Aug, 2013 — – Going to miss this GEM! Was here the other day with a friend and as usual had the most excellent fresh means(Wagyu Burger+ Lamb salad). Gonna miss Mark + Steph+ The great crew here as I am moving to Melbourne tomorrow! All the best in your sayers ventures and can’t wait to come back soon for an excellent meal and coffee! — Keegan — – 14 May, 2013 — – The coffee. Has improved 100000000%. It’s easily on par with their leederville store. The staff here do such a great job. — – 06 Nov, 2012 — – 6÷11÷12. Perfect Service, Food, Cake, Décor… It doesn’t matter how many times you go to Sayers, it’s always the same. If only all Perth coffee shops could strive for the quality provided by Sayers! Hot Latte was definitely one of the best and creamiest I’ve had today, I agree with some reviewers that originally it struggled to be on par with it’s leederville store but they are definitely there now! The biggest bonus is also the owners, no matter how busy they become I feel you get treated like royalty here every time. Thank you! — – 02 Aug, 2012 — – What did anyone expect?. I came here on the opening and just like the one in leederville this is FANTASTIC! And the décor is amazing. Mark and Stephanie as usual were so happy when you walk in… I love sayers too much: D

We arrived at 11.25am to be told the kitchen was closed between breakfast & lunch, only poached eggs were available so poached eggs it was, but they were great, I would’ve liked to try something else on the menu. On the upside their coffee was good.

I’ve been to Sayers Sister a few times and the food there is always top quality. The menu has a mix of interesting dishes — it’s seems to be one you can’t make your mind up easily on, though the Sayers beans aren’t one to miss even if they’re a side order, they’re seriously good. The vibe of this place is wonderful too. They’ve got cushioned benches and big comfy chairs to sit on, plus they have indoor and outdoor seating depending on what you fancy. On a weekend be prepared to wait, the queues here are pretty mental. On a weekday it’s not so bad though. I went on a Thursday morning for breakfast and there were plenty of tables available however, interestingly enough the service when this place wasn’t at full steam was surprisingly disappointing. We had to prompt waitresses every time to give us service which really rubbed me the wrong way. It took almost 10 minutes before we gave in and asked if we could order some drinks. While I want to give this place a higher rated review, the fact that the service differed so much when this place wasn’t busy really let me down. I know I’ll be back though, hopefully my experience was a one off. I’ll be sure to update.

I have heard a lot about Sayers sister and seen a lot of amazing pics on Instagram. I went there at 9am on Saturday and it was full. Luckily didn’t have to wait long however by the time we finished there was a line for 15 people or so. Make sure you go early. I had a cornbread, roast pumpkin, poached egg and feta dish. The cornbread was very mourish. The pumpkin tasted amazing and the feta brought salt flavour to the dish. The eggs were cooked perfect and were gooey when broke. The salsa sauce in the bottom brought everything together. My friend had a special type of salmon dish on ciabatta. The salmon was amazing. It tasted like it was smoked but also had that sashimi flavour. I will be coming back again

After hearing a lot about Sayers Sister and visiting the Leederville version plus reading the massive volume of glowing reviews I decided to venture in with my wife for lunch. The décor is simply stunning. The centre communal bench is awash with vases and objects ‘d arte that are a feast for the eyes. Surrounded are tables and lounges/arm chairs creating a wonderfully cozy ‘mothers kitchen’ feel. The walls are scattered with well placed art, mirrors and repurposed doors. We ordered the pulled pork with Brie and salad sandwich and the gnocchi with cauliflower etc… Drinks were a lemon lime and bitters and a green tea Gin. I was only able to stomach half my meal as it was not only tasteless but had an overwhelming odour of bad meat. My wife’s gnocchi was overcooked and swimming in oil and it too had a bizarre bad smell that permeated the meal. Both of us are not fussy eaters at all but couldn’t finish our meals. We quickly left the table and paid for our meal. $ 70.50. I then became quite annoyed, as I feel that this is way over the top for what was offered. Due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews I will come back again and try it out to see if it was just an off day. The amount of people that walk through their doors is testament itself to its popularity. C-. WILLNOTRUSHBACK, BUTWILLTRYAGAINONEDAY.

Trendy little café in Northbridge. Gets quite popular during the weekends; be prepared to wait a bit for a table, especially if you’re with a larger group of people. Tasty and creative food(along with several tried-and-true favorites for the less adventurous) with plenty of variety for breakfast/brunch/lunch options.

Had a sensational breakfast at SS this morning. The staff are super friendly and organised; no request was too much trouble. The food was delicious and art on the plate. The décor is funky and inviting. I can’t recommend this establishment enough!

This place is awesome!!! Owned by the owners of Sayers in Leederville, I’m surprised I haven’t been to this place before as it’s great! I finally have! Set on Lake Street on the Highgate side of Northbridge it is in a lovely neighbourhood. Came here for lunch and was amazed by the atmosphere and décor when I walked in there is a massive table in the middle with beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling over the table. I was very impressed by the look of this café very eclectic and cool love it! I ordered the pork rillette(see picture) and it was well presented and delicious! Overall this place is awesome would 100% recommend it as it’s not just the food it’s the overall experience Sayers Sister has to offer… next time I want to try the coffee and something different. If you haven’t been to this place do try it as it’s fabulous! :)

I’ve been going to Sayers in Leederville for years and loved everything minus the no table service, but Sayers Sister encompasses everything I loved plus table service. Amazing food, the staff are extremely helpful and made us very happy to wait to get a table by checking in with us. I will continue to be Sayers fan and today definitely showed me why I was anyway! Love Sayers/Sayers Sisters

Superb. A very delicious lunch. We had the soft shell crab and chicken salad. Both great and delicious. Service was superb and efficient. Staff are friendly here. Wish music wasn’t so loud though. It would be good not to try to speak over the techno doofdoof bouncing of brick walls. Some noise control would make this place an absolute pleasure. So if you wear hearing aids — turn them off and enjoy peaceful silence. Coffee was great. Loved it. Super well made. Had second one cos it was so good. Happy to return. Maybe will sit outside though.

After reading so many reviews about this place and hearing how awesome it is, I decided to check it out for myself. We went for a late breaky on a Saturday and the place was buzzing! A small line out the front but the staff we really accommodating and we didn’t have to wait too long for a table. Décor was fab, a cool mix of vintage and luxe. The menu, wowzers! So much to choose from and quite affordable. I ended up going with the bruschetta and my fiancé for the waffles. The bruschetta was PERFECT! Loved it and can’t fault it. The menu was simple but had enough variety to offer choice. So delicious! Service was great. This is a must visit in Northbridge, can’t wait to dine here again!!!

I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Sayers Sister in Lake Street. My only regret was that I could not relax and spend more time there as it was a work day and I was in a bit of a rush! I did take note of the large feature mirror, the exposed brick wall, the interesting furniture and the beautiful hanging lights. There is a lovely sense of light and space which was quite refreshing. My breakfast companions both indulged in the delicious chocolate banana bread which was served with whipped cream and maple syrup. When my breakfast arrived we were speechless. I have never seen such a beautifully presented breakfast in my life! The granola was topped with poached pears and was served in a beautiful, covered blue and white dish. It was accompanied by a jar of thick, creamy yoghurt topped with a berry compote. In the lid were some sliced strawberries. All this was accompanied by a tiny bottle of milk and a shot glass full of maple syrup. I enjoyed every bite and I am already looking to my next meal at the inimitable Sayers Sister! Mention must be made of the delicious macchiato I had to accompany my breakfast. The service was excellent, staff were cheerful, competent and engaging. All in all, it was a lovely experience and I would recommend you all go and try breakfast at Sayers Sister, you will agree it’s worth getting out of bed for!

Sayers Sister is owned and operated by the same owner of Sayers in Leederville. When we arrived, the restaurant was quite full.(There seems to be a lot of early risers in Perth!) We were given a choice to wait for a proper table or sit at the counter. As hungry and excited as we were, we decided to sit at the counter in front of clear glass jars of candy and sugar. It was a tough decision deciding on what to order as everything on the menu looks good. After perusing the menu and making a decision, we placed our orders at the front counter. The atmosphere at Sayers Sister is nice and cosy although it was a bit crowded. Not long after placing our orders, my Chocolate Honeycomb Affogato($ 5) arrived. As most people know, I am not a big fan of coffee and the type of coffee I would usually go for is either a Mocha or Affogato. The Chocolate Honeycomb Affogato was really good and the vanilla ice cream, chocolate honeycomb and coffee together makes it a matchmake in heaven. Yum! There was a bit of wait for our food although we didn’t mind as the restaurant was quite busy which gives us a chance to catch up more. I ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes with Banana Toffee($ 16.50). The buttermilk pancakes were really light and fluffy and the banana toffee blends well with the pancakes too. It was a really good breakfast dish although I have to admit that at some point of eating it, it was a bit too sweet but problem is solved when you take a sip of water. The pancake is a good dish for those with a sweet tooth or wanting something sweet to start off the day! G ordered the Lemon Myrtle & mustard seed enoki, button, field, brown & oyster mushrooms, Bacon & fried egg on toasted brioche & plum chutney($ 18.50)(Try to say it quickly!). According to G, she enjoyed her dish especially the brioche which she admits to being the best part of the dish! Although the dish had several good points, G didn’t like the chutney as it was too sweet. M ordered the Potato Rosti, poached eggs, bacon, onion jam, lemon scented wilted spinach($ 19.50). M thought that some good points of the dish were the crispy-ness of the potato at the outside while retaining its soft texture in the inside. The sauce also complimented the dish very well and the spinach was tangy. However, M also found that the poached eggs were too watery. Overall, he enjoyed the Potato Rosti dish and thought that it was really yum! We really enjoyed the breakfast at Sayers Sister and had a great time catching up with each other. I highly recommend Sayers Sister if you are keen on having breakfast, brunch or lunch. Although the prices are a bit on the expensive side, it is the quality and taste of the food which makes it worth it. My verdict? Yes, I will definitely be back in the future! Sayers Sister has my vote.
