Always a good late night venue with good food and cocktails, some good mid week specials too. Love the booths and retro furnishings. Be good if they could sort the license out so you don’t always have to order food late at night and just have a drink. Sometimes good live music or comedy.

It feels dingy inside this place. I wish they world work or why it feels dingy and fix that. I like that there are gluten free choices in the menu. Otherwise it’s a good place, hosts interesting events and has great opening hours.

This review is specifically relating to brunch. Brunch on the weekend is a very special time for me, and while Perth has a great standard on brekky the lots, smashed avo on toast, and millions of variations of muesli, there is nothing more pleasing than a surprise solid feed and a stiff, spicy bloody mary. The Moon is that Brunch spot. Breakfast options are all over the place so whatever your feeling you can definitely settle up well. The bloody mary looks like a refreshing rainforest that is home to a spicy kung fu orangutan. We may have been nursing a hangover at the time, so we also thoroughly enjoyed the mimosas and a rowdy Irish Coffee. Personally, I had the chorizo with kimchee, but I can vouch for almost all of the items on the menu, as we have gone back many times and done some exploring. I’m a big fan of the retro/dive bar style. This will help kick off what could be a difficult Sat/Sun in the right way and get you back on the horse. Also good when not hungover.

I recently rediscovered The Moon and I’m so glad I did. It seems like The Moon has been around forever(it actually opened in 1991) and it is undoubtedly a Northbridge Icon. The food here is really good and they have a varied menu with something for everyone! I was really impressed on my most recent visit by the wide range of Vegan and Vegetarian options they offer. We tried the Vegan Pizza($ 20 — SALSAVERDEBASE, BROCCOLI, PEAS, MUSHROOM, ROASTEDONION, FRESHOREGANO&ROCKET) and the Chilli Prawn Pasta($ 22 — PRAWNS, CHILLI, GARLIC, NAPOLI, SPAGHETTI, PARSLEY) — both were delicious! A standout dish from a previous visit was the Ragu. The service was friendly but you will need to flag someone down if you want another drink(the Moscato is amazing) or the dessert menu. They run on a tab basis and you hand over an ID card or bank card for the duration of your meal. The Moon is open until late every night — this is one of the very best things about it :) The only bad thing I can say about The Moon is that the toilets really need an upgrade(and maybe some better lighting).

What a quirky little spot! I love the décor and layout of the The Moon, it is quite deceiving in size until you enter. We went to a Fringe Show out the back of the building and loved the set up. We order the Risotto Balls to eat, they were a little dry and not quite what I expected but the garlic bread accompanying it was delicious!

The Moon is a fun and funky little café in Northbridge. Good vibes and atmosphere and when we went(on a Thursday night) they had really great live music starting at 9. However, it was a little bit pricier than I thought was warranted for the food. A burger, chips, and a beer at $ 20 is a pretty decent price, but I upgraded to a cider(not a huge beer fan) and it was $ 2 extra and I thought the burger was just ok. It is a BIG burger though so I was definitely full afterwards. Would go back for a drink and the music, though it wasn’t my favorite eating place ever.

Funky spot any time of the day! The staff are always full of energy and the vibe is quite different once you’re inside. The décor is eclectic and kind of reminds me of my great grandmothers flat with lots of character, definitely doesn’t feel like a place where you can’t be comfortable. We have frequented the venue on several occasions and on a couple of times it was well past our bedtime. The food is always good, service great and its value for money.

Finally I got to eat here after hearing and reading so many good things about it. I went in late one afternoon and the place was really quiet with only a few customers. The manager behind the counter was really easy going and helpful. I was offered the drink list on my arrival at the bar and given a run down of the best on offer. After deciding to get a dry white wine I was told to take a seat and menu to decide what I wanted. After going over the menu a few times and trying to breakdown my decision to one dish, as I could see many I wanted to order, I ordered a pasta dish. When I went up to order I was told that I could still have the lunch deal — even though it was pushing on 4pm. The deal was a drink and pasta dish for $ 13. The pasta came out and I was in heaven. It was creamy and cheesy and everything I wanted in a pasta that day. The décor is funky and the back area near the toilets was really interesting and I could definitely see myself having a few drinks on the weekend here. They also have live bands here which really appeals to me. I will definitely be back.

Super cute and open late on a Sunday. The pizza was good, they have a gluten free option, but he crust wasn’t cooked nearly enough. That being said, there even being an option was nice. The fries are good and the warm butterscotch drink was heaven. My only complaint is that it smelled terribly of cigarette smoke and we didn’t realize we had to pay at the counter. Our waiter just disappeared so we sat waiting around for 15 – 20 minutes before we saw someone else go up there to pay.

Lively, large range of food and drinks and easy to drop by or spend the night — the moon is a mainstay within Northbridge. The equation of a solid menu with reasonable servings and price can’t fail. The best things about the Moon are: The extensive menu(all of which is delicious) Large servings They are open until late They have specials! The only annoying thing about the moon is that if you want a quiet dinner — this place is way too lively and can get fairly noisy and hot at the back. They also need to take your credit card if you do drink. But I am assuming this is only because they may have had ‘runners’ in the past skipping the bill? Overall the moon is a fun place with decent prices and food!

I love the look of this place but the coffee fails every time with coffee grounds in the cup and the food is just not amazing. I’ve had pasta and pizza and pies and cakes but it’s great as late night drunk food — not great when compared to what you can get in Northbridge. It is open late and has a comfy atmosphere though. I like that they have board games you can play.

The Moon is always a great place to stop in at after a few drinks in Northbridge. The food here is very tasty(unlike anywhere else close by serving food so late) and the feel of the place is very funky. In the front room it’s American diner style and out the back they have an interestingly random collection of sofas and arm chairs. Definitely a good place for a group to get a meal or just hang out and the only negative I can think of is that they won’t serve alcohol without food past a certain time(I guess that’s to do with liquor licensing though so I’ll let them off). As others have said the carbonara is stellar and highly recommended.

The Moon is a great place to catch up with friends. The funky and eclectic atmosphere and great food keeps this place at the top of my list in Northbridge. The portions are a good size for value, and the often run specials on different nights of the week.

Never noticed this place although we pass through this area all the time… We were invited to dine here during a friend’s birthday & hubby had the Spicy Prawn Pasta which tasted alright but nothing to shout about… The portion of prawns served for the price was generous though. I tried the Comfort Pasta which was one of the best pastas I’ve ever had. For a cream based pasta it wasn’t overly rich which it often is at other Italian restaurants. It was extremely yummy & I’m returning to this place again just for this dish! It’s definitely a must order. Also, I’ve heard good things about the Steak as well :)

Atmosphere — CHECK! Food — CHECK! Drinks — CHECK! Service — CHECK! Good Hours — CHECK! Great Price — CHECK! One thing I really love about this place is that they put a shaker of grated cheese on the table! You don’t have to pay extra and you can use as much as you want(why can’t all of Australia be like this?)… can you tell I love cheese? My mouth is watering now… They have great specials! I have been for dinner a few times and I’ve enjoyed it every time. The arribiatta pasta is delish! We went for breakfast on Saturday and all I can say is VANILLABUTTER… I could eat that stuff alone. The buttermilk pancakes with caramelized banana and bacon were to die for. My boyfriend said they were the best pancakes he has ever had. I had the corn fritters which were quite tasty!

Went here for a cheap, quick dinner on monday night. Worth it for the $ 12.95 pizza and pasta special on Mon & Tues nights(and $ 2.50 soft drink, $ 3.50 wine) I had the pasta special, penne with cacciatore sausage, olives, tomato cream sauce and basil. I asked for no olives as i hate the things(they and capers seem to feature heavily on the moon menu between pizza and pastas) and the pasta had good flavour. Only let down was the pasta itself was overcooked — I like my pasta al dente, so having mushy penne was a bit of a let down. Service was friendly and super quick. I’ll go back to try the burgers and shakes as they looked pretty impressive!

I’ve been here lots of times but I went to check out the new menu, which is much smaller and a little bit fancier. I had the comfort pasta which was tasty, an improvement on their old carbonara dish. The staff seem much friendlier(I have found them quite rude in the past). You can now pay at the till separately when ordering or start a tab for the table. Still a favourite of mine because of the the causal mismatched furniture and overall chilled vibe.

Late night supper, big hearty food cravings, cheap nights out — yep its at The Moon! The food for me has always been great, servings are on the larger side and I especially love the pasta/pizza nights — $ 12.95! Personal Recommendations include — the margarita pizza and bowls of fries and wedges w/aioli and sweet chilli sauces! Awesome vintage couches at the back and a row of booths running down the front dining area there’s plenty of seating. Service is also really friendly, attentive and fast! P. S. new menu at the moon is now in action!!!
