Nice atmosphere, beautiful view, food and alcohol. Perfect combination.
Granted I didn’t actually eat anything (but have in the past and has always been nice). They had $ 5 ginger beers which was nice for something different.
As a group there for a farewell the only downside was mostly smaller fixed tables outside making it hard for us to sit together. Was definitely some polite chair pinching going on.

Terrible food, atmosphere, and service.
My last experience at The Brewery I ordered a grilled fish meal with salad and chips, the fish was ridiculously oily and the salad tasted like dirt. The floor was sticky and the entire venue felt/​smelled like the back of a bogans commodore.

Dropped in here for lunch on the way home from Sydney. I have to admit, as a local, I hadn’t eaten here in a while. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised by the level of service and food quality.
The chicken schnitzel I had was slightly overcooked, but that’s getting picky. It was tender and thick. The chips were twice battered and crispy with a side of fresh veggies. Fresh! Not frozen as restaurants are often want to do. Carrots, beans, broccolini, and corn. Not bad for $ 16 with lavish dosings of gravy. Mmmmm

This is a great place to take out of towners for lunch. I know this because I’m an out of towner and I was taken here for lunch. The food is good and there’s lots of cold beer and cider. The selling point though is that it is right down on the waterfront and it’s a really relaxing place to go and sit and enjoy the sun and the sights. The staff are friendly and the food and beverages are reasonably priced. Not bad I say. Not bad!

On a beautiful day, this place would be excellent. The brewery seems to be one of the places to be at by day and night in Newcastle.
They have a great covered outdoor area with band on a Sunday and a nice selection of beers.
Next time I visit I hope the weather finally turns it on.
