Went here to kill some time with a friend, made really strange requests like physically dividing the deserts in half because me and my friend wanted to try a variety of goodies without eating too much, and they made it happen without even questioning us. Food was great, good clean environment, good service! would return again

Note this rating is based on the first shake I just got from San Churro, and I still hope to taste other things on the menu. But based on the Salted Coconut Choc Shake I just got, I was kind of expecting a lot more. Very little chocolate in the shake, no taste of any salt, coconut flavor tastes like syrup and not actual coconut milk. The result is like a mix of milo and chendol(SEAsian desert consisting mostly of sweet syrup and coconut milk). I’m hoping their pure hot chocolates fair better, but this shake I got was really disappointing. The menu is interesting, but feels like the execution could be better.

I do like the combo of tile and dark wood with a splash of colors giving off the wanna-be Spaniard feel here. This San Churro is in a good location, the corner of QV and right next to the State Library. Plus, I have walked by hundreds of times and always see people in here, this naturally rose my curiosity of the place. Now the name is San Churro, but I did not order anything churro.(I’m just not the biggest fan.) Scouring over the menu, I saw some nice fondue options and chocolate covered macaroons. There is so much to choose from: shakes, desserts, cakes, smoothies… Now I ordered the mint magnifico hot chocolate, and my partner had the hot chocolate with peanut butter. We split an ice cream sandwich made with macaroons. Can I say sweet tooth?! Seriously. Service was lighting fast, it was like watching bees working a beehive. The mint maginifico was like hot pudding in a cup –it was so thick. The peanut butter hot chocolate was great, and the salty sweet combo is a winner in my books. There slogan here is «sweeten thy tooth» and this is not a lie. I was suffering from a chocolate/sugar high afterwards and needed to down huge gulps of water just to be alright with myself. I love the mugs that you can cup with two hands hugging it for warmth in the winter months. I love them so much that I think all hot chocolate should be served in these adorable little guys. And I want them in my house, for every single hot beverage I ever drink. Another thing I really loved was that the drinks were hot, but not too hot at the point where the beverage is massacring your taste buds with its heat.

San Churro’s are extremely nice and tasty, and warm chocolate on a cold day, its just amazing. :) I go here when i have freebies to use. I just find as nice as they are, it is just too expensive to justify going to on a regular basis.

this one is not my favorite SanChurro locations. the desserts and drinks are great as in all the other locations but: — the buzz noise is too high. — the music is too loud(and the selection is pretty random, as opposed to a nice spanish music selection). — the staff though very friendly is not as authentically spanish as in some other locations(not that it matters but for the total deep dive into spanish culture would be nice to hear spanish accent around you) so yeah… not my favorite locations so far…

We stop by here to drink our dessert after a dinner out. The Azteca hot chocolate is my fave, just a hint of chili! mmmm. They’re making churros as you watch, they look delicious and I’ll try them next time!

Kept it simple — churro and dark chocolate. Perfect and awesome on a cold rainy day.

Trying to raise our spirit in the cold, wet weather C and I stopped at San Churro in the QV Centre. C has been there before with her friends. The place is busy but it is still a very pleasant place to sit and get out of the rain. The freshly cooked churros come with the option of dark or milk chocolate — C told me that she always has the dark chocolate and I didn’t disagree with her choice. The churros don’t taste that fatty. These are sweet but you don’t feel sick after eating them. The churros for two are just the right size, as C doesn’t have a large appetite. I had the Aztec hot chocolate with chili a take on the original way that chocolate was drunk before Europeans discovered it. It is good to have the hot zing of chili with your smooth chocolate. I can easily resist all the menu items, the chocolate tapas, the chocolate fondue, and the tasting plates because I’m not such a big chocolate fan that I have to overdoes on chocolate, a little quality chocolate goes a long way.

I came here last weekend during the bicycle race being staged on Lygon St and the place was pretty busy. Understandably it took a while for my coffee to arrive(almost 10 minutes) so I tried a few chocolates in the meantime(quite possible a ploy by the staff). I had a few truffles and the La Bomba and the Besos del Baileys(flavoured with the alcoholic drink) were absolutely divine. With a nice wooden interior, plenty of room to sit, newspapers to read and tons of chocolate, chocolate desserts or chocolate flavoured drinks to have I had enough time to realise the folly of my latte-ordering — not that anything was wrong with it, actually except that it was steaming hot! There are plenty of chocolatiers on Lygon St, especially around San Churro but this is one well worth trying.

Now let’s be honest, who isn’t a fan of chocolate?(Well there was that one girl in high school who was allergic, I didn’t believe her but apparently it was true). Chocolateria San Churro offers you the finest spanish chocolate in town and i have to admit, there’s nothing like it! Located on the intersection of Swanston and Little Lonsdale, CSC is a busy little hub pleasuring the city-goers with amazing chocolate infused beverages and desserts. The beverages are delightful, my favourite the spanish hot chocolate. You can get the hot chocolate in a variety of different flavours, with a hint of mint, coconut, hazelnut and you can even get it hot or cold. The venue offers inside and outside seating, I prefer the inside as you can bask in the wooden interior and stare at the bookshelves with mounds of different variety chocolates(I can never say no to getting something off that damn bookshelf!). With that in mind the venue can be a tad crowded but how could you resist the call of a fine spanish flavour-infused Chocolateria. P.S Oh and do yourself a favour and dont think about how many km’s on the treadmill you will have to do to burn the delicious chocolate off and get the most appetising thing you can find!
