Ive been coming here for years. Although the grocers out at Cabramatta are possibly better this is still the go to place for asian veges and stuff in the city.
If I had a clue what I was buying that would be great but the only thing I know for sure is that I cant get it anywhere else between Chatswood and Hornsby, and its cheap.
Silly isn’t it, because me and Pontip herself both live at Wahroonga.

Pontip is a Thaitown institution and supplies restaurants and retail customers alike. It packs a lot of products into a small space. You will find a full range of fresh, canned and frozen produce as well as utensils and seasonal oddities such as wing beans, fresh ka chai etc. At 5pm it is always full of people on the way home buying for their dinner. Unfortunately the staff toilet opens straight into the retail area. Staff out the back are constantly busy preparing stock for the shop and for local restaurants, chefs frequently popping in for a last minute ingredient or two. Mostly Thai customers with a few adventurous Aussies.
