Takumi

Wir waren vor zwei Wochen das erst mal dort. Super leckere Suppen. Hätte nie gedacht, dass ich mich an einer Suppe satt essen kann aber ich hab sie echt nicht geschafft. Auch der Preis ist völlig angemessen obwohl er anfangs etwa teuer erscheint. Fazit: super Lokal, werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Das Anstehen ist mal echt etwas nervig — aber man wird mit super leckerem Essen belohnt! Wie ich aus zuverlässiger Begleiter-​Quelle erfahre auch sehr authentisch.
Es ist voll, warm, dampfig und etwas laut — wen das stört hat einfach Pech gehabt.
Zum Bestellen klappt englisch oder japanisch besser als deutsch ;)

Ausgezeichnetes und authentisches Ramen (Nudelbrühe mit Einlagen) und Gyoza (Teiggerichte) Restaurant. Für Freunde der japanischen Küche absolut zu empfehlen. Insbesondere für gestresste Geschäftsleute, die wenig Zeit haben.

Tasty food, fair price. For the taste I would give the restaurant 5 stars. Unfortunately they don’t accept reservation, which means you always have to plan at least 30 minutes waiting time during the weekend. Therefore 4 stars!

Das Takumi ist nach längerer kulinarischer Ebbe eine wirklich positive Neuentdeckung. Beim Betreten des Restaurants denkt man erst einmal «Ja was ist denn das?». Man steht mit gefühlt 15 anderen Menschen in einem 2-​Quadratmeter-​Warteraum, wartet bis wieder jemand zu Tisch gebeten wird und rückt artig nach. Das geht aber erfreulich schnell. Während des Wartens fällt auf, dass sehr viele Japaner/​Asiaten hier essen gehen. Das werte ich als ein außerordentlich gutes Zeichen.
In dem kleinen Restaurant geht es recht schnell und effizient zu. So zahlt man z.B. nicht am TIsch, sondern steht einfach auf und trägt das Zettelchen mit den angekreuzten, gegessenen Speisen an die Kasse. Trotz dessen ist es recht ruhig und entspannt. Aus jeder Ecke hört man begeistertes Schlürfen und die Gäste sehen zu frieden aus. Ich hatte auch den Eindruck, dass die Kellner ihren Arbeitsplatz nicht völlig schlecht finden, sondern gern hier sind. Das ist ja leider in vielen Restaurants nicht so…
Wir teilten uns eine Portion Gyoza (als Deutscher würde man vermutlich Maultaschen dazu sagen) und aßen Miso und Shoyu Ramen in einer Variante, die wohl als die Empfehlung des Hauses gilt («Spezial» oder so). Alles lecker. Insbesondere die kleinen Maultaschen. Wir waren uns allerdings nicht einig, ob nun die Miso-​Suppe oder die andere Variante besser ist. Eine Re-​evaluierung ist hier wohl nötig… ;)
Mein Fazit: ich fand es sehr nett hier und mochte das Essen. Ich brauche Ramen vielleicht nicht jede Woche aber ich habe Lust bekommen die anderen Sorten zu probieren.

Ein absolut gelungener Besuch im etwas verstecktem Takumi!
Wer auf der Suche nach einem authentischen Japaner ist, ist hier goldrichtig! Da meine Freunde bereits von ihrem letzten Besuch begeistert waren, wollte ich es auch mal wagen und ”Ramen” essen.
Allein die Einrichtung gibt einem das Gefühl, man sei in Tokyo. Die Bedienung war äußerst freundlich und man hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt.
Die Speisekarte bietet vielfältige Angebote. Zum größten Teil jedoch die Suppen, die man mit Gemüse, Fleisch oder sonstigen zusätzlichen Zutaten wählen kann.
Mein Highlight des Abends: Die Teigtaschen. Solche leckeren Teigtaschen habe ich noch nie gegessen. Von mir hier also eine besondere Empfehlung! Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen!
Ein weiterer Tipp: Kommt relativ früh und nicht zu spät. Der Laden ist meistens sehr voll, aber jede Minute Wartezeit lohnt sich!

Vielleicht liegt es auch daran, dass ich Suppen nicht sehr mag, aber mir hat es nur so mäßig geschmeckt. Außerdem finde ich, ist es sehr teuer für eine Suppe!
Ich würde mir wirklich zwei mal überlegen hierher zu kommen.
Wir wollten ein Ei anstatt Schweinefleisch und das wurde eiskalt mit 2 Euro abgerechnet. Also hat die Suppe 15,80 € gekostet!
15,80 € für eine Suppe! Hallo?! Das sollte dann aber lieber die beste Suppe der Welt sein, aber war sie auf jeden Fall nicht. Einfach nur Abzocke, weil der Laden gerade in ist.

If you are used to eat in Japan this gets very close to that. the atmosphere and taste are like in Japan. the staff is friendly and the tonkotsu ramen is very good. the only minus is that it is very busy and you have to wait for a table if you are more than two. also it takes about 40 min to get the food. that is the only thing that keeps takumi from 5 stars

Authentisch (ohne Sushi) japanisch essen gibt es in München nicht an jeder Ecke. Das Takumi leistet seinen Beitrag, um das zu ändern. Hier gibt es nämlich leckere Ramen und Gyoza. Das Menü scheint auf dem ersten Blick etwas unübersichtlich, wegen der vielen asiatischen Schriftzeichen, aber dreht man die Karte erst einmal um, werden einem die Basics erklärt. Ramen (also die traditionellen japanischen Suppen) gibt es auf Shio– (Salz), Shoyu– (Soja) und Miso-​Basis. Da muss jeder selbst ausprobieren was ihm am besten schmeckt. Mir taugt Shoyu am meisten. Die anderen Gerichte die ich bisher probiert habe, waren alle lecker. Deshalb kann ich das Tukami (gibt übrigens auch einen Ableger in Düsseldorf) nur weiterempfehlen. 5 Sterne gab es übrigens nur deshalb nicht, weil ich aus der Rue Ste Anne in Paris bisschen zu verwöhnt bin was japanische Küche angeht. Auffällig war, dass die meisten Kunden entweder Asiaten oder Touristen (manchmal sogar asiatische Touristen ;) waren. Manchmal gibt es übrigens né Schlange von 5 – 10 Leuten, da der turnover aber relativ schnell ist, muss man nicht Ewigkeiten warten.
Summa summarum: Wer günstig authentisch japanisch essen möchte ist hier an der richtigen Adresse!

Excellent ramen provided by very amiable and knowledgeable staff. They all come from Japan and most are conversant in German and English plus Japanese. Highly recommend the Tan Tan Men, and the Tokatsu was out of this world.

Ramen? In Munich? Surely you jest.
I was here on a business trip over the winter and really needed something hot to warm me up. I wasn’t used to the frigid temperatures! Anyway, after consulting Unilocal app, I decided to check out Takumi.
I’m glad I found Takumi. They have the standard ramen broth’s you can find at any ramen shop, which is a good sign. I ordered the Miso Ramen and the portion was very large. The broth was good, pork tasted good, and the overall quality was pretty good.
The only reason for the 3 star? The service was a bit off. it took a while to place an order and even longer to get drinks. Maybe this was a one time thing, as most seem to enjoy the service.

Absolutely wonderful place to go for ramen. The service was warm and friendly and the food was great. We have had ramen in Tokyo and while nothing can beat that for authenticity this place came close. Hubby has had ramen soup for his birthday dinner for several years in a row. So when Unilocal recommend this place we headed right over. The soup was flavourful and really hit the spot on a cold December night.

You know the place has good food if there is a ten person waiting line.

Das Takumi ist meiner Meinung nach das einzig authentische Ramen-​Restaurant in Deutschland. Ich war früher Stammkunde in dem Original in Düsseldorf — die Filiale in München ist qualitativ genauso gut!
Ich habe länger in Japan gelebt und war gestern erst mit einer japanischen Freundin dort und wir waren wieder begeistert von unserem Lieblingsgericht «Tantanmen». Das sind Ramen in einer scharfen Miso-​Sesamsauce mit Hackfleisch und Chiliöl. Die Ramen in Gotanda, Tokyo sind zwar noch besser, aber mei…
Das lokal ist sehr authentisch japanisch, d.h. man muss tlw. draußen Schlange stehen und wird Innen mit anderen Leuten an einen Tisch gesetzt. Wie in Japan geht man zum ESSEN dort hin, nicht um danach noch zu verweilen.
Die Bedienungen sind Japaner/​innen und können tlw. nicht genügend Deutsch, hier bitte ich die deutschen Kunden um Nachsicht. Entweder authentisch oder eben eingedeutscht. Bitte wählen und dann nicht meckern.
Preislich sind die Ramen natürlich um einiges teurer als in Tokyo, aber ein Flug nach Tokyo wäre teure. Von daher: volle Punktzahl und Weiterempfehlung von mir!

Am Essen kann man nichts aussetzten, kann das lokal jedem nur empfehlen. Die Ramen sind ein Traum! Einen Stern Abzug gebe ich weil es wirklich immer und zu jeder Zeit voll ist und man sehr lange auf einen Tisch warten muss. Reservierung ist keine möglich, daher konnte wir auch schon lange nicht mehr dort essen.

This place was amazing. Both the food and service was impeccable. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We could not read the menu as it was in German but the host/​waiter voluntarily came to our table and explained everything. We went back the very next day for lunch. If you are in the area, this is a definite «Must Go».

Wer japanische Ramen mag muss hier hin.
Auch wenn ich selbst noch nicht in Japan war um das Original zu testen, spricht wahrscheinlich dafür, dass das Restaurant bei unserem Besuch zu 60% von Asiaten besucht wurde und alle Tische belegt waren.
Kurze Zusammenfassung:
— Vegigerichte (wenn auch wenig) vorhanden und als solche erkennbar
— Karte sehr unübersichtlich :) — ein wenig Ahnung von japanischen Nudelsuppen (Ramen) sollte man haben um hier zu verstehen was man bekommt. (Rückseite beachten! oder Mut zur Überraschung)
— Wer Fleisch möchte wird nur Schwein und Huhn finden (Rind, Ente, Seafood gibts nicht) (wenn ich die Karte richtig verstanden habe ;)
— Preis absolut ok. — Zutaten frisch, die Suppenschalen sind gross machen sehr gut satt
— für nicht Suppenliebhaber gibts auch ein bisschen was anderes
— die Küche hat nichts zu verstecken und ist einsehbar

The most authentic Japanese ramen place in Munich. Hard to beat due to scarce competition here.

The ramen at Takumi Munich is very good, as well as the amazing gyoza and good karaage. But it’s the extremely inflexible and passive-​aggressive service from most of the staff that I cannot accept.
Yesterday I went with a friend to Takumi for lunch. Waited 30 minutes to be seated, which in itself is fine in a small and popular establishment like this one. But it was the perfunctory and inefficient slowness of the waitress cleaning the tables and getting them ready that I had an issue with. Even after 3 tables were cleaned it took forever for us to be seated.
As I’ve mentioned, the food itself is good, but one doesn’t go to a restaurant just for the food. It’s the whole experience, from good service to feeling good when leaving that a customer expects from a good eatery.
At most ramen places I’ve been to, the concept of kaedama (requesting extra noodles when you still want more and have broth left in the bowl) has been the norm and even encouraged. At Takumi Munich, every request that is not stated on the menu is too difficult and impossible, and is met with the standard response ‘It’s not possible, sorry’. So, when I asked for a separate portion of noodles, I was told ‘das geht leider nicht’ by the waitress, who looked at me in disbelief, as if I’d asked her to save the world. Considering the price bracket of this place, one would expect more flexibility AND better service.
They have a customer card, which you can get stamped for either free gyoza or free noodles, depending on how many stamps you get. But you can get stamps only on weekdays (not on weekends or national holidays). I had a couple of stamped cards which I wanted merged into one card, but again I was met with the ‘sorry, not possible’ line. Also ridiculous is the fact that they conveniently hide the cards behind a large display screen, so that one finds it only when one is looking for the card. Rather deceitful, if you ask me. Why have them at all, in that case???
I’ve been to the original Takumi in Düsseldorf, where service, quality and quantity of food is far superior to that of its Munich equivalent. I only go for the food at Takumi Munich, as it is the only redeeming feature of this particular place. Then I leave as soon as possible.

This place is a god send.
After eating German fare for a few days straight, our group was craving something Asian, and we took a few transfers to get to Takumi, but well worth it!
Wasn’t expecting this sort of spot in Munich. The feel of the place is authentic Japanese ramenshop, with an open kitchen concept for viewing pleasure. I went with the Takumi Speziale with shoyu base. Really liked the broth. Chasu pieces were bigger than your average ramen chasu too. Ramen cooked just right. It doesn’t come with the soft-​boiled egg, but in this case, I’d say it’s okay to skip it. The egg is fairly normal, nothing too special about it. I tried it with the miso base as well, and I gotta say, I’d go with the miso next time!
I also got the salmon/​trout roe rice bowl to go along with the ramen. I say salmon/​trout, because… I don’t know what it is? Forgot to take out the translator and forgot to ask haha. We also got some gyozas to share and gyozas were spot on.
There’s Kirin on draft so if you want to talk a break from them German brews, perfect.
We waited about 30 minutes around 8pm, not too bad since the place isn’t that big. Service was good, as expected of a Japanese spot. Bring Euros.

So far the best I’ve eaten in Europe.
You see I’m Japanese but from another world where we have Ramen and Gyoza as part of my vital organs. I seek Ramen and Gyoza where ever I travel so that I can continue to live among you humans. Aside from Japan, I’d say that Ramen is easiest to acquire and with ‘near Japan quality’ in Los Angeles, Torrance (home of Toyota and Honda), Gardena (was home of Nissan but now just a ton of J-​expats and JA’s:Japanese Americans). OK, now in Germany or most of Europe, you have Sushi run by anything but Japanese and Ramen is close to instant. Takumi is a 5 star because they for one are the real thing as in they are all Japanese (from Japan) and the flavor is pretty close to Japanese so it’s not as if they just learned to cook in Germany. I had a Tonkotsu Ramen: Noodles were firm, small in portion but that’s OK, light to medium broth, not too salty, not too fatty. I only got half an egg but that’s OK too as it was delicious. Gyoza comes in sets of 5, not 6, 5. Wonderfully prepared, nice and crunchy on the bottom, nice and soft up top — not from frozen. if you do go, get there before 12 so you have a seat otherwise you wait. Oh yeah, the Karaage chicken pieces were huge and packed with flavor.
To the Germans:
You are supposed to eat Ramen fast because if you don’t the noodles will absorb the broth, changing the flavor — in Japan this event is called ‘nobiru’ when noodles get really fat.

I am a huge fan of ramen and I’m pretty sure this is one of the few ramen restaurants in Munich. This place feels authentic. I’ve had ramen in Japan and Los Angeles and I am also Japanese too so I’m a bit picky when it comes to my ramen. The staff is Japanese, the menu is German/​Japanese, and the set up has a very Japanese vibe.
I ordered gyoza and the Sapporo tonkatsu style ramen. I really liked my ramen. The noodles were firm and not too soft. The broth was pretty good as well. Normally I do prefer the tonkatsu broth to be a little thicker and a bit more «porky» tasting, but I still enjoyed mine today.
We went on a Sunday night around 8pm and the line was out the door. We waited about 15 – 20 minutes to be seated. The staff is friendly. I think most of them spoke better English (and Japanese of course) than German, which was nice for me. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I also recommend coming during the day vs at night because it won’t be as packed.

Super leckeres und authentisches japanisches Essen bzw. Ramen. Auch die Vorspeisen lassen kulinarisch keine Wünsche übrig. Die Portionen sind den Preisen angemessen (Preise eher Durchschnitt), der Service ist freundliche und die Stimmung in dem Restaurant gut.
Bei hohem Andrang muss man manchmal im Eingangsbereich auf Bänken warten bis etwas frei wird (10 – 15 Minuten Wartezeit). Genau wie in Japan vor den Restaurants.
Unter allen japanischen Suppen-​Restaurants ist das Takumi in München eine klare Empfehlung!

Three words: gyoza happy hour! Every Wednesday evening and totally worth it. I specially love this chilli oil they provide to mix in with the soy sauce! Absolutely yummers

This place was good for the last three days but the first day was horrible. I accidentally ordered tan tan men and I only had two bites of it. They charged us for it.
We complained and the manager would not let us pay with credit card and we did not have enough Denish krone. The solution he gave us was 18 free gyoza which was good.
The last three days we got miso ramen and gyoza. It was a huge makeup for their horrid mistake which they did earlier on the first day in munich. The miso ramen and miso soup they had were good.
They had shoya ramen miso ramen and shirt ramen regular, with vegetables, with chicken, and with spice. They also had the spicy tan tan men and a tonkotsu men.

Bitte Mittwochs kommen Geile Gyoza zum halben Preis!!!
Das Jap. Bier ist erfrischend lecker!!!
Habe die scharfe Tan Tan Men Suppe probiert mit Hackfleisch und Sesam einfach nur Hammer!!!

… Wir kommen wieder!!!

Delicious ramen but you’re eating it in a sauna. No A/​C, which is common and acceptable, but there is not circulation in the dining room and no fan. The kitchen, with huge pots of boiling broth, is not separated from the dining room so you will sweat while you eat your ramen. In fact, the waitresses wear towels as headbands it is so hot. I wish I could have enjoyed it more. It really was delicious.
THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH and German debit cards.

Bester Ramenya in München, steht völlig außer Konkurrenz. Authentisch japanisch, sehr lecker und mit vielen Gästen aus Fernost. Dementsprechend kostet eine Suppe allerdings auch mehr als 10 € und man wartet eigentlich jedes Mal auf einen Platz im äußerst engen Vorraum (reservieren ist nicht möglich). Die Bedienungen habe ich aus Japan einen Ticken freundlicher in Erinnerung. Man merkt einfach, dass die guten Damen wohl sehr viel arbeiten. Die Auswahl vegetarisch/​veganer Gerichte hält sich stark in Grenzen bzw. ist für Veganer nicht vorhanden.

Beste Ramen der Stadt! Auch die anderen Gerichte sind sehr lecker. Bedienungen sehr freundlich, aber deutsch ist manchmal etwas schwierig.
Man kann leider nicht reservieren und muss als große Gruppe durchaus mit einer Stunde Wartezeit am Abend rechnen.

Seit Jahren ist das Takumi schon mein Stammlokal, wenn es um Ramen geht. Die Nähe zur U2 und zur Hochschule München begünstigen das sicherlich noch zusätzlich.
Das Lokal ist typisch japanisch und spartanisch eingerichtet, da in Japan das Essen die größere Rolle spielt. Man wird sofort auf japanisch begrüßt und bekommt Plätze angeboten, sofern noch etwas frei ist, denn dieses Lokal ist immer sehr gut besucht und so muss man zu Stoßzeiten auch mit Wartezeiten rechnen. Spricht aber schonmal für sich, dass hier gern gegessen wird. Dazu kommt noch, dass die Zahl japanischer Gäste sehr hoch ist. Ebenso hat man einen Einblick in die Küche, in der immer zügig und flott gearbeitet wird.
Zum Essen selbst: Die Ramen hier sind meiner Meinung nach am authentischsten und schmecken einfach super. Die Brühe wird klassisch aus Schweineknochen, Karkassen, Riementang, Gemüse etc. gekocht, es gibt aber auch eine vegetarische Variante. Aber auch die japanische Grundbrühe Dashi ist ja im Normalfall mindestens aus Fisch und Tang hergestellt. Die Nudeln für die Ramen werden in der Manufaktur Sapporo Nishiyama Seimen in Japan hergestellt. Weiter geht es dann mit der Wahl ob Miso oder Shoyu oder Shio, was die Geschmacksrichtung vorgibt und dann noch die Einlagen, wo auch immer noch andere zusätzlich dazu gewählt werden können. Besonders liebe ich die Sapporo Style Ramen, die zusätzlich noch mit Schweineschmalz und speziellen Gewürzen sind und als Einlage muss bei mir immer weiches Ei mit rein. Portionstechnisch bekommt man eine riesige Schüssel Nudelsuppe, die aber auch zwischen ca 10 und 13 € kostet. Unter der Woche bekommt man Mittags auch noch Jasmintee dazu. Danach bin ich immer über einen langen Zeitraum satt, was bei mir nicht selbstverständlich ist.
Es gibt auch noch ein paar andere Gerichte und ganz gut gemachte Gyoza. Mittwochs gibt es immer 2 Portionen Gyoza zum Preis von einer Portion. Daifuku und Dorayaki gabs die letzten Male auch immer. Außerdem bekommt man hier auch Kirin Bier vom Fass.
Allerdings geh ich hier immer für die Ramen her. Dadurch, dass die Küche auch gleich nebenan ist, muss man damit rechnen das es auch gut warm hier ist.
Abschließend kann ich sagen super Ramen; zügiger, freundlicher und zurückhaltender Service und eine japanische Atmosphäre, deshalb auch 5 Sterne. Etliche Freunde konnten sich hier auch schon für die Ramen begeistern und auch Suppenkasper sind schon eines besseren belehrt worden: D

Oh ja hier gefällt es uns!
Wie in Japan, sauleckere Gyoza, frittierte Hähnchenstückchen, Edamame und Tako-​yaki. Und natürlich im Mittelpunkt des Geschehens: die Suppen!
Ideal an einem kalten Abend haben die Suppen unser Herz erwärmt.
Obwohl das Hauptgericht uns wunschlos glücklich machte, konnten wir vor den Desserts nicht zurückhalten.
Puuh, am Ende waren unsere Bäuche kugelrund, sodass wir unfähig waren uns zu bewegen. Wir waren einer der letzten Gäste und konnten mit einem schönem Gefühl nach Hause gehen.

Good attentive service, the ramen however is subpar. Albeit not bad, the soup tastes more like a broth of some sort, than proper Japanese ramen. the egg had been cooked separately (standard) but was still very cold when they placed it in the soup, which made for an unpleasant bite. Also the noodles were very thick and had a strong unfamiliar taste. I wasn’t even able to finish mine. If you’re in the mood for soup, go here, if you want ramen, I don’t believe you will be satisfied here.

Takumi is really hard for me to rate because I’m used to eating ramen in Cali. But the ramen here is actually decent and have pretty good firmness. The soup base is also well prepared, my favorite as usual is the salt based. And now for the all important egg and Shoyu. the eggs are well cooked but they always come cold, and the Shoyu is too lean and dry for my taste.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s totally enjoyable and I’ve been there already a few times. As far as I know it’s also the best ramen in Munich which makes me a little sad. But to ask for really authentic ramen in Bavaria is just too much.
Place is always packed for dinner and has a pretty good ramen bar feel. So come hungry and be prepared to wait a few minutes to get seated.

Best Ramen in Munich so far!
Die «Miso-​Base» find ich allgemein etwas zu salzig, dann lieber Shio für alle, die es nicht so salzig mögen. Die Nudeln sind saulecker und auf den Punkt! Wir kamen Freitagabend gegen 20 Uhr ohne Reservierung, haben aber nach 15 Minuten schnell einen Tisch bekommen. Waren hier schon öfters und werden gerne wieder kommen! :)

Hier fühlt man sich wirklich wie in Japan — und da ich schon in Japan war, darf ich das auch behaupten.
Typisch japanisch: Man kann nicht reservieren. Wenn alles Tische belegt sind, wartet man im Vorraum mit Wartebänken, bis man von den super freundlichen und aufmerksamen Bedienungen geholt wird. Falls man abends mit einer größeren Gruppe hin gehen will, am besten vor 18:00 Uhr dort sein.
Es ist kein Restaurant, in dem man den ganzen abend sitzen bleibt. Man geht hin um das leckere Essen zu genießen und dann zieht man weiter.
Die Ramen Portionen sind ordentlich, also nicht zu viel von den köstlichen Vorspeisen essen. Meine Favoriten: Gyoza, Tako-​yaki und fritierte Edamame Sticks (gab es letztes Mal aber leider nicht).
Kleiner Tipp: Die Speisekarte umdrehen — da wird der Unterschied zwischen den verschiedenen Brühen (Shoyu, Shio, Miso) erklärt.

Ging voller Vorfreude nach etlichen Empfehlungen durch diverse Internetforen endlich einmal ins Takumi… Problem war nur ich war nicht der einzige mit dieser Idee. Knappn 10 Leute warteten im Vorraum auf ihren Tisch.
Normalerweise ja ein super Zeichen!
Also kam ich am nächsten Tag etwas früher wieder und bekam einen Tisch.
Vorspeise Gyoza: Himmlisch! Die besten Gyoza die ich außerhalb von Asien gegessen habe! Das machte Lust auf mehr!
Ich und meine Begleitung nahmen dann unterschiedliche Ramen, aber anscheinend hatten wir beide kein gutes Händchen… es schmeckte uns leider überhaupt nicht :(Obwohl ich ein großer Liebhaber dieser Gerichte bin hatten sich da entweder meine Geschmacksnerven ausgestellt oder ich hatte einfach Pech mit den Gerichten.
Für mich leider keinen weiteren Besuch wert, die Gyoza haben die 3* aber noch gerettet.

After living in LA near J-​town you kind of expect a level of greatness in ramen. Unfortunately I did not find it in Germany, but Takumni isn’t bad. I mean, I’d come here again if I couldn’t find anything else to fulfill my warm soup craving, but on the cold rainy night that I came here, it was just perfect.
We ordered some gyoza (tasty but small and sooo pricey — 4.80 for 5 pieces) and three different types of ramen (shoyu, and the two specials: tonkotsu and tokuoyo shoyu). They were all pretty good but a bit on the salty side even after we requested two of them to be with less salt. You can order extra noodles which is nice for the guys that need some more substance.
Overall it was good but not great. I do wish our US credit cards worked in Germany. Spending 75 € definitely hurt the wallet and increased my ATM withdraw rate (and fees).

I waited a long time to finally visit Takumi and I had to wait long for a table at the lunch time, which is always a good sign :).
The place was quite loud, crowded with Japanese people, staff was running crazy getting people to tables, taking orders and serving the Ramen. I’ve never been to Tokyo, but this is how I imagine this city.
Food! A very authentic Japanese kitchen, not very gourmet, but simply good food. The Ramen were delicious. From what I understood they were homemade, but they would buy them somewhere else (?).
Unfortunately (for me) a very porky place. Pork is the one and true king of the menu. But I guess this is the price you pay when you don’t eat meat. Out of round about 80 dishes there was one and ONLY ONE vegetarian dish: a veggie ramen (impossible to combine it in a menu, as all the starters were meaty too). Still an excellent true Japanese style soup. My Japanese neighbor had one of the pork ramen and meant this is the only place in Munich where you can get the real ramen. I neither saw in Munich another restaurant so well visited by the Japanese.

Nirgendwo sonst kann man so authentisch japanische Suppen essen. Das Lokal ist nicht das gemütlichste, aber auch das gehört dazu, wie dass es kein Sushi gibt.
Das Mittagsmenue ist immer klasse und wer den Mut hat bekommt hier auch die richtig scharfen Suppen.

Das Takumi in der Heßstr. Ecke Schleißheimer (U2 Theresienstr.) gibt es mittlerweile schon einige Jahre und ist das authentischste Stück Japan, was es in München abseits von Sushi oder Gourmetküche zu finden gibt.
Verkauft wird überwiegend Ramen — eine unglaublich sättigende Nudelsuppe, die so etwas wie das «wahre Nationalgericht» der Japaner darstellt. Dort wird es zu jeder Tages– und Nachtzeit in atemberaubender Geschwindigkeit in einer von tausenden Ramenshops geschlürft.
Als Suppenbasis kann man zwischen Soja, Salz oder Miso wählen. Weitere Zutaten wie Ei, Lauchzwiebeln oder extra Fleisch lassen sich beliebig kombinieren. Dazu gibt es einige Vorspeisen. Erfreulicherweise ist auch eine vegetarische Variante im Angebot (die Brühe wird sonst mit Fleisch gekocht). Geschmacklich ist das Ganze einigermaßen authentisch, allerdings doch einige Schritte vom Original entfernt: So waren mir bspw. Ei und Fleisch zu trocken, auch kam die Suppe fast lauwarm anstatt heiß an den Tisch.
Atmosphärisch fühlt man sich wie im Ramen Imbiss in Japan, was auch an der hohen Zahl der Japaner liegt, die dort in der Regel zu Gast sind. Im Takumi verweilt man also eher nicht — man kommt zum Essen.
Fazit: Gerade für die Mittagszeit oder den großen Hunger sehr zu empfehlen. Wer noch nie richtigen Ramen gegessen hat, sollte unbedingt mal einen Besuch abstatten.

Location:
Ein sehr authentischer Japaner mitten in München (erreichbar mit der U2 bis zur Theresienstraße, Nähe Hbf) das vor allem von Japanern gut besucht wird. Das Restaurant ist recht klein und man kann auch leider keine Tische/​Sitzplätze reservieren. Daher kommt es nicht selten vor, dass man am Eingang auf einen freien Tisch warten muss. Dies ist aber nicht schlimm, wenn man nur in einer kleinen Personenzahl kommt. Bei größeren Gruppen erweist sich das Warten auf freie Plätze aber etwas lang und schwierig.
Da das Restaurant immer gefüllt ist, laufen in diesem kleinen Raum auch oft mal bis zu 3 Kellnerinnen herum und sorgen dafür dass den Gästen jeder Wunsch erfüllt wird und das alles sauber und ordentlich ist. Dies gelingt denen wirklich einwandfrei!
Essen:
Ich war erst 2x im Takumi aber kann versprechen dass ich noch etliche weitere Male kommen werde, denn das Essen schmeckt wirklich vorzüglich! Auch wenn ich kein Fan von Ramen bin, hat es mir bisher sehr gut geschmeckt. Empfehlen kann ich hier jedes Gericht mit Chicken Teriyaki, vor allem aber Reis mit Teriyaki!

Eigentlich bin ich kein großer Ramen-​Fan und mag vietnamesische Suppen lieber, aber ich bin Fan von scharfen Gerichten. Das Lokal ist immer rappelvoll und wir konnten 2 Plätze ergattern. Die grünen Bohnen als Vorspeise haben die Wartezeit verkürzt und unsere Suppen waren sehr lecker.

After having read some of the reviews and looking at the photos online I thought I had finally found a place that I could call my Asian home in Europe and unfortunately that search will continue having had lunch here today :-(
Having travelled and worked in Asia and Australia for years I was spoiled for choice when it came to Asian food and in the last two years of being in Europe I have been yearning for that rich textural Asian flavour and experience.
The Gyoza here is excellent and served nice and warm. The speziale miso ramen that I had for lunch tasted ok but lacked the texture. I am not a fan of soups full of cabbage, pok choy and bean sprouts when you could have some many different textural items like rice cake, snow peas, baby corn and so on alongside the meats. Also the lack of vegetarian choices was a bit disappointing specially with the Gyoza and just one soup out of the whole menu. I was also disappointed at the prices € 35 for two for lunch is a bit rich considering what was in the bowl.
I am afraid I won’t be rushing back here. The hunt for the ultimate Asian on Europe continues… journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step and that was two years ago :-)
