Das Schnitzel war gut, wenn auch an einigen Stellen bereits schwarz und nicht in Schmalz sondern in Planzenöl gebraten. Die frittierten Kartoffeln trieften von Fett und der Salat war frisch aber Standard. Der Service war nett, zuvorkommend und gastzentriert.
Das Ambiente hat mehr Kneipe als Restaurant.

Eigentlich ist anhand der Bilder schon alles gesagt. In München wohl das bekannteste Schnitzelrestaurant, wenn auch nicht Wiener Schnitzel, sondern nur «Wiener Art». Für ca. 10 € bekommt man den Klassiker des Hauses entweder mit Pommes oder Kartoffeln frittiert. Man sollte aber eventuell vorher auf die Teller der Anderen schauen, um zu sehen, wie riesig die Portion ist. Alleine schafft man dies nur mit viel Mühe oder sehr großem Loch im Magen. Geschmacklich nicht extravagant aber für den Preis absolut ok. Zum Essen gibt es verschiedene Augustiner.

Mein Gericht wurde leider vergessen, was zur Folge hatte das wir nicht zeitgleich essen konnten. Als Wiedergutmachung musste ich immerhin das Getränk nicht bezahlen. Sonst war der Service fix und freundlich, das Ambiente eher laut. Das Restaurant ist spartanisch eingerichtet, die Portionen bei günstigen Preisen groß und das Essen lecker. Interessant für Studenten.

Große und wirklich gute Schnitzel! Genau das richtige für Schnitzelfans.
Leider keine echten Wiener im Angebot, aber die «wiener Art» sind wirklich große Klasse. Die Pommes verstecken sich unter den Schnitzel, was zur Folge hat, dass diese leider etwas pappig werden. Aber wer achtet schon auf die Beilage ;-)

Schnitzel ist zwar groß dafür aber dünn.Ich mit meinen 54 kg habe es locker in mich hineingestopft! ;) Hat zwar gut Geschmeckt, jedoch zu fettig zu Ölig! Zum Thema Atmosphäre des Ladens naja nichts besonders. Als kleinen Verbesserungsvorschlag mehr Soßen nicht nur den Lahmen Ketschup.

We read some reviews that the schnitzel here was great; and we weren’t disappointed. The portions are also really big. There were three of us and we each ordered one. We probably could have shared 2 between the three of us (and we aren’t petite eaters). The beers here are also really good.
I was a little worried that they wouldn’t speak English here, but that wasn’t a problem. They had a staff member that was able to help us out with the ordering.

This is THE place for schnitzel. Come eat like a local and avoid the touristy places by Marienplatz. This place has schnitzel as big as your head and you can hear them pounding the cutlets flat in the back. Traditional bavarian cuisine at it’s finest. When I lived in Munich I was brought here by my German boyfriend otherwise I probably never would have found the place. It is situated next to the technical university so many students come here for lunch.

Ich liebe die Schnitzel im Steinheil, sie sind dünn geklopft, gebraten und so gross, dass man seine Pommes oder Bratkartoffel darunter suchen muss.
Dazu ein schönes Bier, was will man mehr!

Also die Schnitzel sind ja quasi immer ein Muss! Mega groß und echt lecker. Eigentlich kann man die Beilagen ja weg lassen… Schafft man ja eh nicht.
Zwar sind die Schnitzel über die Jahre etwas kleiner geworden, aber man schafft immer noch nur schwer alles. Ich geb dann oft was an bereitwillige Mitesser ab.

one of the best and biggest schnitzel in Munich. For the food it´s absolutely recomandable, apart from the salad of course… but in the other hand, the service is the worst i´ve ever seen. They are not kind and they can´t even handle people. I only rate this restaurant with two stars, because of the bad service I have received every time I was there.

The schnitzel was good, but not great. Sorta tasted like country fried chicken w/​o the gravy and thinner.

beim letzten besuch war mein schnitzel leider nicht schön wellig gebacken, wie ich es gern habe. an der unterseite waren für meinen geschmack zu viele verbrannte brösel der vorgänger aus dieser pfanne…

A german friend recommended this place, I just want a simple but reliable place for some piece of german tradition.
Not located in a crowded street and it’s a good way to get around if you like to just roaming around. Decoration ok and friendly staff that usually asks you where are you from (if foreigner)!
I tried snitzel for 10.50 €, reasonable price for such a big portion, I even had to share!
But lemonade is just sparkle water, lemon flavoured, with a slice of real lemon: not what I was expecting…

Schnitzel… the size of your plate, but bigger! Plus plenty of other options! This place is a WIN! The schnitzel is not only large, it is also pounded to a perfect thinness, breaded lovingly and fried to golden, crispy, deliciousness, served with either french fries or home fries and a side salad. My meal plus one beer (Augustiner is served here, but they also have a full bar) was € 14.00 including tip. It is easy to get to as it is very close to the Theresienstrasse stop on the U2 line.

Steinheil use to be my go-​to place for schnitzel. That was a few years ago though. I went back last night and can honestly say that nothing has changed — great schnitzel, full house, good beer and friendly service!
I of course got the HUGE schnitzel with potatoes and savored every bite. I love how thin they get the meat and am sure my leftover half will taste great tonight too.
Good food at a good price with big portions. Just make sure to reserve ahead if you don’t want to be one of the people standing at the door waiting /​hoping for someone to leave.

A very tasty place for the «bigger» hunger inside you… One of the Steinheil’s classical meals is, of course, the Wiener Schnitzel… They serve two versions of it: the standard schnitzel with either fries or cutted potatoes, or the deluxe version with some extras… But only € 9,90 for the standard version, and yet such a great taste is absolutely unique in Munich!
I had the Schnitzel there, and the size is already stunning, it takes almost the entire space of the plate… Jawoll! And with a good soda, most recommend a «Spezi», it mostly costs not more ten € 15.00 in total…
As a Munich citizen, I can totally recommend it… Of course they also offer other food as Schnitzel as well…
Try it yourself, but: there’s only a very limited amount of tables, so either make a rescation or come early. I arrived around 11:30AM and I was the first there. But only 35 mins. Lat, It was a full house…

Gute Alternative zu Burger & Co, empfehlenswert vor allem das Schnitzel, welches zwei Personen satt macht.
Dazu ein August oder eine Cola und schon hat man für etwa 17EUR zu zweit Mittag gegessen.
Die Pommes waren uns etwas zu fade, das Schnitzel war in Ordnung.
Der Service war schnell, hat aber etwas lustlos gewirkt.
Um sich kurz und günstig satt zu essen, zu empfehlen. Wer bessere Qualität als im Fast Food Bereich haben möchte, muss ein paar Euro mehr bezahlen und woanders hingehen.

Wir waren vor gut zwei Wochen im Steinheil und dann in der darauffolgenden Woche gleich nochmals dort, weil es uns so gut geschmeckt hat.
Die Bedienungen waren freundlich, wir hatten Glück mit den Plätzen.
Es gab natürlich jedes Mal Schnitzel, einmal mit Pommes und einmal mit Bratkartoffeln. Dazu hatten wir dann jeweils aber auch noch einen Salat, weil zwei Schnitzel für uns als Paar dann doch zu viel gewesen wären.
Beides mal waren die Salate auch wirklich gut (einmal mit Ziegenkäse und Erdbeeren und einmal mit Schafskäse).
Alles hat uns gut geschmeckt, wenn die Portion zu groß ist, kann man sich auch was einpacken lassen, was ich sehr nett finde.
Werde definitiv nochmals wiederkommen. Finde das Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis nämlich echt gut und das Restaurant selbst auch nett.

Studentenkneipe in der Nähe der Uni.
Vorbeilaufen wird man wahrscheinlich nicht zufällig, obwohl die UBahn nicht weit entfernt ist,
aber die Kneipe liegt in Mitten des Wohngebietes, bietet aber so einiges.
Interieur nicht das exklusivste, aber das erwartet man von einer Studentenkneipe ja auch nicht, hauptsache es ist sauber und es gibt gutes Essen zu angemessenen oder günstigen Preisen.
Besonders berühmt sind die Schnitzel die es im Steinheil gibt und natürlich wegen dem Bier.
Dies in Kombination zieht natürlich die junge Bildungsgesellschaft an!
Man kann auch oft Pech haben, Donnerstags oder Freitags, dass man schwer bis gar keinen Platz bekommt.

This is the place for a schnitzel so big that it hangs off the edge your plate. No joke.
This place is on my regular rotation for something casual, affordable and filling. The schnitzel seems to be the thing to get. Almost every table has a platter, but if you’re not that hungry for a huge heap fried meat and potatoes, they have salads, daily specials and other options.
Eat a salad the day before and come here for a crisp, thin schnitzel served up with sliced potatoes or fries and wash it all down with a weiß beer.
There are always people here in this local restaurant so come early if you come with a few other people.

Schnitzel. Ein riesiges Schnitzel… Das bekommt man im Steinheil. Und zwar für knappe 10 Euro. Und es schmeckt lecker. Das Riesenschnitzel ist eigentlich das, woran ich denke, wenn ich ans Steinheil denkt.
Doch auch die restlichen Speisen in der Kneipe/​im Restaurant können sich sehen lassen. Ich hatte mal Geschnetzeltes und war davon auch sehr begeistert.
Trotzdem bestell ich mir meistens das Schnitzel, wenn ich da bin.
Ein Tag, an dem man unbedingt ins Steinheil kommen muss, ist der Erstsemestertag der TU am Anfang des Wintersemesters. Denn dann wird ordentlich viel Freibier (100 Liter glaube ich) vor dem Steinheil ausgeschenkt. Natürlich tummeln sich dann auch unzählige Studenten dort. Ein weiterer Grund ins Steinheil zu gehen sind die attraktiven Kellnerinnen.

Se você estiver em Munique e estiver afim de comer um bom e barato Riesenschnitzel esse é o lugar! O Chili também é muito bom, assim como os menus diários. A area interna é pequena; algumas mesas sao colocadas no lado de fora no verao, porem de qquer maneira, se estiver pensando em jantar é aconselhável fazer uma reserva antes!
