Der Lampenschirm

If you need a lamp or a lampshade this is the place to go. Finding lampshades in Munich is not so easy specially if you are looking for something particular or a colour you want. I found this place and we decided to drop in and see what they do.
They have a ton of lampshades in all shapes and sizes. If they do not have any colours or patters in stock you can choose from hundreds of fabrics, patterns, colours and sizes and they will make it for you. It takes about a week to ten days and you can have it made.
It’s a small family business and it’s the husband and wife team at the shop. They do speak some English and mostly Bavarian ;-)) the lady was very helpful and showed us everything and help us select some colours and patterns from the catalog. It’s all made locally in Bavaria and the quality is very good. You can also buy lamps, chandeliers and they have everything from reasonably priced lamps to really expensive chandelier over two floors.
A good shop to stop in if you are looking for anything related to lamps including custom made shades and repairs.

Hier gibt es alle erdenklich möglichen Lampenschirme, wie der Name schon vermuten lässt…es ist wirklich ein kleines Lampen Universum hier. Holzlampen, Glaslampen, Florentiner, Petroleumlampen, Stoffschirme, Venezianische Lampen und Unikate… unglaublich, was für eine Auswahl der Laden hat.
Die Preise sind hoch, die Qualität und der Wert jedes Einzelnen allerdings auch. Auch wenn ich mir bis jetzt hier nichts gekauft hat, gehe ich immer gerne in solche traditionellen Fachgeschäfte, in denen man sich auf einen Gegenstand spezialisiert hat — denn wirklich oft gibt es diese Geschäfte nicht mehr. Schade eigentlich…
