Ok, this is still one of my personal Berlin highlights and now I’m ready to share it with you ;) Levante is not a fancy place at all, its not some hip restaurant where you drink café latte while playing with your macbook — but it is somehow … home. I’ve never seen a place where you do feel so welcome as soon as you enter the door. Its not only the lovely staff(all family run) that gives you that feeling, it’s also the gentle scent of homemade oriental food and the cup of fresh brewed tea in your hands on a cold winter day. Don’t forget to try the hot oriental soups — everything is fresh and homemade. The gözleme(pastry filled with different vegetables, cheese and then grilled) is just fantastic! 5 Stars for this cozy well-feel place!

This former bakery in Goltzstrasse has transformed itself into a little Turkish café which offers freshly made Gözleme and Manti amongst other little bites. Though the menu is quite limited but it is more than adequate for a light lunch or early evening supper. On my first visit I had the lamb Manti with yoghurt spicy oil. It was delish, the Manti were large and the wrappers were like silk which melted in your mouth. It was piping hot contrasted by layer of yoghurt. I was already looking forward to having this again… Unfortunately on my second visit, I chose the potato Manti which were also quite tasty but lukewarm. It was I admit a very cold day and they just opened and it was quite cold inside, which resulted in me wearing my bobble hat inside. The waiter was so sweet he gave me a complimentary Revani and Tea to warm the cockles of my heart. They had just opened and it was quite cold inside. My lunch companion was very pleased with his Gözleme which came with a nice little selection of Meze. They offer a variety of delicious fillings and you can actually watch this being prepared. I found the tea much nicer than the Turkish Mokka, which I found a bit on the watery side, I like mine with a much creamier texture. It’s nice to sit outside on a sunny day. The inside is comfortable but don’t expect anything too glamorous, Just bear in mind that this is not a full on restaurant, in case you are expecting a huge choice of Turkish cuisine. Prices are very reasonable
