Gogogi

Located in a hip area with cool atmosphere. Service was quite good. However food was not to my taste. We had Jaeyukbokkum, sundubu-​jjigae, doenjang jjigae, and pajeon. All mediocre tasting. I know my korean food since i have had them for all my life.

Nicht zu empfehlen. Schlecht organisiert und mässiger Service. Trotz Reservierung mussten wir warten, wurden zweimal umgesetzt. Wir sing dann gegangen als die Bedienung dann noch eine Bestellung für ein Dessert aufgenommen hat, nachdem die Gäste schon 30 Minuten überzogen haben. Schlecht wenn der Service kein oder so schlecht Deutsch spricht um Feinheiten zu verstehen oder zu vermitteln.

Taste quite good but I have to take out 2 points:
— only a bit of kimchi as the pre-​meal small dishes, which contrasts with the usual practice of a wide range of those small dishes offered in other Korean restaurants I went both in Germany or US.
— the slightly burnt rice crust is probably the most important part of bibimbap for me, but there is none in the one I ordered

This Korean restaurant is the fanciest place around Mitte. Also there foods taste good. I liked the Pajeon and Bibimbap best.

It’s so great that you can get really delicious, authentic Korean food in Berlin. I’ve travelled a lot to Korea and know my Korean food, and Gogogi is the real deal! Love the BBQ bulgogi for dinner, and also really enjoyed all the banchans (side dishes). I also tried the dolsot bibimbap at lunch and it was delicious, with super fresh ingredients. You can tell that this restaurant makes an effort to source very high quality ingredients for both meat and vegetables. The restaurant atmosphere is lovely, great design style but also very comfortable. The staff is great, very friendly and efficient. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Berlin.

Wir waren hier an einem schoenen warmen Freitagabend zum Essen, mit Glueck konnten wir noch einen Platz draussen erwischen. Das Restaurant liegt direkt am Rosenthaler Platz und somit kann man beim Essen jede Menge Touristen und Hipster beobachten die interessiert, vielleicht sogar neidisch, auf das Essen gucken. Wir bestellten Jeyuk Gogi, scharf mariniertes Schweinefleisch mit Gemuese (Moehren, Zwiebeln), das ganze wird direkt am Tisch in der Pfanne gebraten und dann direkt gegessen. Die Banchan, die koreanischen Beilagen, waren mit den 3 Tellerchen recht uebersichtlich, es gab Kimchi, eingelegter Spinat und suesse Kartoffelstuecke. Die Beilagen waren lecker, aber schon in der Speisekarte steht das ein jedes weitere Schaelchen Banchan mit 1 EUR berechnet wird — das habe ich noch nie zuvor so gesehen, weder in Berlin noch in Korea selbst. Das Fleisch war wirklich lecker, nach eigener Darstellung wird das Fleisch von einem Bauernhof in Brandenburg bezogen, die gute Qualitaet kann man schmecken! Das Fleisch wird ueberlichweise in ein Salatblatt gewickelt, zusammen mit zB Kimchi oder auch etwas Reis und scharfer Chilipaste, zu zweit bekommt man etwa 6 o. 7 Salatblaetter serviert, was natuerlich nicht reicht. In anderen Restaurants ist es ueblich das man einfach noch etwas Salat bekommt, doch bei Gogogi muss man auch hier noch 1 EUR extra bezahlen. Das Fleisch war gut, das liegt ja auch schon im Restaurantnamen da Gogi Fleisch bedeutet ;-). Das Essen insg ist aber auch keine Erleuchtung der koreanischen Kueche, guter Durchschnitt. Es ist extrem untypisch das die Beilagen oder Salatblaetter extra bezahlt werden muessen, und das bei einem Restaurant das sowieso schon nicht in der unteren Preiskategorie arbeitet. Zusammen mit dem coolen Stil des Restaurants und der Kellner kann man hier leider eine Sache nicht erleben, koreanische Gastfreundschaft.

We tried a glass noodle stir fry 8.90 €, AMAZING flavours! A Korean flammkuchen with sea food, leek and vegetables. Very good, same price.
And a pot with rice and salad. 7.90 € and could have been a bit more exciting.
This all came with a very good soya sauce and and one spicy, which was too spicy for us.
We drank two home made ice teas which were both great. About 4 € each.
These portions were big so we were super full afterwards. Yet we decided to squeeze down a lovely banana and mascarpone dessert. Well worth it!
Edit: the second time I ate here I tried the big vegetarian stir fry with lots of exotic vegetables. Tasted amazing.

I am ESTATIC to finally have had authentic, delicious Korean food! I was a little hesitant to try it reading prior poor reviews and the overall rating but I’m so glad that I did because it was so much better than I expected.
The interior decoration is so hip and cool. I felt like I was eating in an art gallery. Decoration: vintage x contemporary… Used traditional Korean tables/​Korean dressers and gave them a new life as a table top which I appreciate *insert OK emoji* embodies what Berlin is all about, new and old. Loved the lighting, and the pictures, even the bathroom was really neat.
we ordered:
Pajun: very good, loved the shrimp and the chives
Gehranjjim (egg dish): didn’t get to eat a lot of it because my husband and son ate it all but it was amazing
Bulgogi: so freaking delicious! In the beginning stages it lacked flavor so I was disappointed but as it started to simmer and cook longer it was even better than some of the BGG I’ve had in Korea and America, not so heavy, perfect amount of flavor. My husband and I ordered for two people and the serving amount was always perfect. Kimchi was very good, hard to find.
Negatives: not too many side dishes, but the ones they give you are delicious, just wish they had more options but maybe it’s something that they’ll work on.
Service: A++++ waiters speak Deutsch, English, and Korean, super convenient. The waiters were so accommodating, friendly and attentive to everything, also adored my son which was super cute. Offers high chairs, very child friendly– even gives children utensils, cups and bowls! I must mention that it is a little pricey, but the quality is worth it, ill definitely be coming back again.

schon kurz nach der eröffnung haben wir uns im april auf das gogogi gefreut. die einrichtung ist grundsätzlich gelungen, im hinteren raum jedoch sind die tische unglaublich hässlich und viel zu klein für das bbq. wir haben schliesslich einige teller auf dem boden abstellen müssen. man fühlt sich etwas hilflos wenn man die gerichte in die hand gedrückt bekommt und sich dann selber darum kümmern soll, wie und wo man alles unterbekommt.
lecker war das bbq und auch die vorspeisen auf jeden fall! ich persönlich würde aber erst wiederkommen, wenn das bbq auch mit huhn oder fisch auf der karte zu finden ist. rind und schwein sind beides nicht so meins.

The people working there are extremely nice and charming, the service definitely gets 5 stars. An example is when my waitress told me my dish would take longer than expected for whatever reason and asked if I was OK with waiting a bit. I said it wasn’t a problem at all and after 5 minutes, she came with 3 extra complimentary little plates of appetizers so I wouldn’t «go too hungry» while waiting. I thought that was adorable and very hospitable.
The food gets 4 stars since it didn’t blow my mind. It was good and satisfying, just nothing special. The ingredients were all very fresh and the dishes were presented nicely. I just wish they would offer more little extra plates and sauces to accompany the main dishes.
The décor is very cool and chic. I very much enjoyed the vibe.
All in all, I would go back, especially with a group of friends to try the bigger platters which looked very impressive.

So sauer und enttäuscht war ich echt noch nie nach einem Restaurantbesuch!
Zu Beginn die zwei positiven Dinge. Lage und Design des Restaurants sind schön und das Essen sah auch gut aus. Das wars dann aber auch. Zuerst mussten wir auf unser Essen etwa 20 – 30 Minuten warten, obwohl alles nur rohes Gemüse war, das am Tisch gegrillt wird (zusätzliche Grillzeit etwa 10 Minuten).
Das Essen war dann einfach nur schlecht. Es war viel verschiedenes Gemüse in fast geschmacklosen Wasser — kurz praktisch keine Gewürze.
Meine koreanische Partnerin und ich konnten es beide nicht essen und es wurde uns beim Essen nach einer Weile übel. Es war das erste Mal in unserem Leben, dass wir uns deswegen beim Kellner beschwerten. Wir erhielten zwar eine nette Entschuldigung, den vollen Rechnungsbetrag von 34,80 Euro (für in Wasser schwimmendes Gemüse, kleine Portionen von Beilagen und Reis sowie 2 Tee) mussten wir trotzdem bezahlen.
Eine extrem enttäuschende Erfahrung, die uns ziemlich den Abend verdorben hat.
Interessant war auch die Begründung (vom Chef?): Der Geschmack sei für Deutsche! Na ja ich bin Deutscher, aber mir hats auch nicht geschmeckt! Kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass das Gericht irgendjemandem schmecken würde. Ich hoffe die anderen Gerichte im Restaurant schmecken besser.

Endlich ein authentischer Koreaner in Mitte! Die echten Koreaner erkennt man ja an den Heizplatten auf dem Tisch — wer die nicht hat, ist halt nicht «echt», das wissen wir spätestens seit unserem Südkorea-​Urlaub im letzten Jahr. Und die Preise im Gogogi sind auch fair, Personal sehr freundlich, Weine aus der Karaffe ebenfalls schmackig! Kein Wunder, dass der Laden schon kurz nach der Eröffnung brummt!
