Entrecôte

Wow. Beyond our expectations. We are still eating the meal and I had to post. Steak was cooked perfectly. Great menu. A little expensive but well worth it. The steak tartar is the best in Berlin. My wife says so and she is a steak tartar aficionado.

Das Ambiente, der Service, die Qualität des Essens.
Ich gehe nun seid ca. 6 Jahren mehr oder minder regelmäßig dorthin. In all den Jahren gab es nie einen Grund für schlechte Laune oder Beanstandungen. Naja, vielleicht der Preis.
Es ist ein höherpreisiges Restaurant. Wie ich finde rechtfertigt die Qualität den höheren Preis.
An der Stelle sei angemerkt, dass ich schon in Restaurants war, die wesentlich teurer sind. Insofern spreche ich hier nur von einem höherpreisigen Restaurant.
Empfehlen kann ich hier das Kalbskotelett, das Tartar und natürlich die Steaks.

Excelente lugar, la comida deliciosa, muy buena atención; se tardan un poco en servir la comida pero vale la pena la espera, la carne un manjar.

Durch die guten Kritiken haben wir uns leiten lassen an einem Samstag Abend hier zu reservieren.
Wir waren mit größtem Erwartung angetreten und wurden trotzdem vollkommen überrascht vom qualitativ des Essens und Service.
Es ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.
Negativ ist nur eine Sache das die Nachspeisekarte nur auf französisch war und einige von uns konnten sich nichts dadrunter vorstellen was sie zum Schluss bestellt hatten.
Also für die die nicht französisch sprechen kann der Abend durch aus lustig werden.
Die Preise sind durchschnittlich und die Ambiente ist Familiär nicht zu leise und nicht zu laut.
Eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen.

Ich bewerte nach Schulnotensytem (1 sehr gut, 6 durchgefallen).

Dieses Lokal ist hochpreisig und ich bewerte immer im Kontext zu Qualität und Preis.
Essen:
Die Auswahl, die Qualität, die Präsentation und die Menge der Gerichte finde ich ausgesprochen gut für die Preisklasse des Lokals.
Ich hatte u.a. schon das Entrecôte Majeur, den Scampispieß mit Scallops und den Schokokuchen und bin sehr davon begeistert.
Frisch, auf den Punkt und toll zusammengestellt.

Ambiente:
Das Lokal enspricht meiner Vorstellung einer Brasserie.
Ein Lokal mit hoher Decke in dem eine tolle Atmosphäre entsteht aus Unterhaltung der anderen Gäste, dem Geräusch das beim essen entsteht (Geschir, Gläser, etc.) und trotzdem keinem aufdringlichem Pegel.
Das Lokal ist schick und einfach gehalten. Eine Kunst mit so einfachen MItteln so gut auszusehen.

Service:
Der Service hat interessanterweise die typische Arroganz die man von Parisern kennt, daher bewerte ich diese gar nicht als negativ sondern bilde mir ein das sei das Französische Gegenstück zur Berliner Schnauze.
Der Service ist schnell, aufmerksam und immer zu Stelle.
Daher eine 3+
Fazit:
Eine kulinarische Bereicherung, die einen Umweg lohnt und ein Lokal in das man mit gutem Gewissen jemanden einladen kann.

Essen war sehr gut. Weinempfehlung war ok.
Was ich nicht ok fand, ist, dass der Kellner am Ende sehr patzig wurde, nachdem man «nur» 5% Trinkgeld gegeben hat — was bei höheren Rechnungen, vor allem wenn eine Person krankheitsbedingt Suppe ißt und tatsächlich nur eine Person bedient wird, m.E. bei normalem — bei weitem nicht perfekten, sondern eher aufgesetzt freundlichem — Service üblich und durchaus ausreichend ist. Selbst wenn man ein bisschen hätte mehr geben können, finde ich «Patzigwerden“eines Kellners einen schlechten Stil… Schade!

Mein absoluter Lieblingsfranzose in Berlin. Top Essen und Weine, ausgezeichneter Service und das alles bei einem Ambiente, wie man es sonst nur in Paris findet!

I took my husband for his birthday to entrecôte & we had a wonderful time there.
The waiters were very friendly and the food was delicious and totally worth the price. When we got there we got seated (which isn’t everywhere in Berlin the case), the waiter took our coats and brought the right ones back when we were about to leave and also the wine recommendation to the steak we had was an excellent choice.
We really liked the fact that they paid attention to little details i.e. when our glasses were empty they refilled it or after we finished the salad they brought us new forks.
We had plenty of bad experiences in Berlin so far, but gladly this wasn’t one of them. :-)

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed dining there this evening. We had lamb chops and beef stroganoff, both dishes were excellent. Great atmosphere and an easy walk from our hotel. With drinks and two side dishes the bill was only 67 euro, good value.

Magnifique … schon lange habe ich nicht mehr ein so gutes Steak Tartar bekommen. Der Service war den Preisen entsprechend gut und zuvorkommend, der käse als Nachtisch auch ein Gedicht. Alles in allem wirklich gelungen und ich komme gerne wieder her

Essen (Zwiebelsuppe, Tatar, Ente, Mousse au Chocolate und Crêpe Suzette) vorzüglich! Der Service aufmerksam und freundlich! Eine Tischreservierung ist empfehlenswert. Wir kommen sehr sehr gerne wieder!

Das Essen ist wirklich gut, allerdings finde ich das Restaurant selbst etwas unterkühlt. Die Preise sind auf hohem Niveau aber durchaus gerechtfertigt.

We were here for date night. After having known the existence of this restaurant (I work one block away from this restaurant), I only had the idea of trying this out yesterday. After all, Friedrichstrasse is just a stone’s throw away, with plenty of touristy restaurants that are not worth writing home about. So I thought that this place would also be the same, lacklustre, bland, and only after one-​time visiting tourists.
I was proven wrong last night.
The reservation system was easy, you can do it in the Internet. So when we showed up at 19:30, we had a table waiting for us, a nice booth, right by the bar. That was a good place to sit.
I started with the foie gras terrine, paired with toast. My main course was the steak tartare, mixed right by the table. You can configure your tartare depending on how spicy you wanted it. And since I was looking for some less greasy side dish than chips, I asked for additional toast, which they gave at no charge. Mind you though, the chips were very tasty!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The wine they recommended definitely matched our dishes. I liked the helpful attitude, since we initially suggested a wine, but when we asked if that matches, they recommended a different one, and we were definitely glad we listened.
Oh and the dessert. I loved that swimming island with caramel. I ordered that blindly, telling the staff that I don’t know what that was, but I wanted it regardless. When it came, the staff asked if he could explain a little about it. I loved the fact that they do care that you know what you’re eating. It shows that they are passionate about what they do, and want the diner to enjoy their food. They definitely are not robots simply bringing food from the kitchen.
Overall this was a great experience. It’s not the most romantic setting, as things are a little too loud for it, and the choice of music also is not romantic. But hey, we weren’t looking for that anyway. We were after delicious French food, and this place delivered it, without the stereotypical French attitude, but rather with sincere friendliness and passion for food.

My family and I did a trip to Europe this summer and went to many great restaurants. Entrecôte was one of my favorites. We started with the oyster which we’re impeccable, then we got the escargot which were very good. For my entrée, I got the Steak tartare which might be the best steak tartare I’ve ever had. Then I finished with an unbelievable crème brûlée. In my opinion, a must-​go in Berlin. It was so good we went twice in the three nights we spent in Berlin.

This is a good place to eat and meet people!
Fish soup with baguette, water and Riesling wine to begin with. Good service here. Salmon steak was fairly good and so was the vanilla ice cream afterwards.
Now I sit with a Very good coffee and a glass of brandy :-)

Overall it’s good. I don’t think u can miss with anything on the menu. its not the best example of any of the dishes iv ever had but its also not bad. If your in Berlin and want a taste of Paris i would say go here its as close as your gonna get without heading to France.

Was really great, the service was friendly, we ordered beer, they not have many options, but it’s ok and Campari with orange juice, they said, do you want something special? I said, just Campari with orange juice, again something special, ok, special hahaha, with orange juice: P
After we sat down at the table, I ordered steak salmon with stick fries and salad, was really really god, for drink just water.
When finish we saw the menu of dessert and ordered tarte au citron and crème brûlée, uuuhhmmm magnifique
We recommend this place, isn’t cheap, but have good service and good food :)

Tout était parfait! Nous avons mangé le châteaubriand et la qualité de la viande était excellente et sa cuisson aussi. Le service est attentif et très serviable. Je recommande vivement cet endroit!

Das Essen und der Service waren wie immer fantastisch. Es gibt da nichts zu beanstanden.

This is a really cozy French restaurant near to all the tourist attractions. Still, there are any locals here as the service is perfect and their food and wine collection is on a very high level. Be sure to make a reservation.

We reserved in advance for 21:00 on a Saturday night. When we came we needed to wait. We got seated at 21:35. They did not offer any curtesy drink for the long wait. First course we ordered onion soup and Foie gras. The soup was not good. The Foie gras o.k. Nothing to write home about. For main course we ordered the entrecôte. We waited for one hour until we got it. One came cold. The other one ok. Other then that the entrecôte was good. The sides, French fries, not good at all. They also have very small choice of beer selection. No air condition inside. Although pretty cold night, very hot inside.

Ich esse ab und zu Mittag hier und meist ist das Tagesmenu tatsächlich ein Genuss, wobei es auch Ausreißer gibt. Aber die feste Karte ist nahezu immer sehr gut, das Steak de Bouef war genial, super lecker.

Fantastisch — und endlich eine wirklich richtig gute gute Adresse in Sachen «Steak» in Berlin. Und zwar in jeder Beziehung: Location/​Ambiente, Service, Qualität Speisen.
Tolles großes, aber dennoch vertraute Atmosphäre, schöné hohe Decken mit gedeckten Licht, angenehmer Geräuschkulisse und Servicekräfte, die ihresgleichen suchen.
Zur Vorspeise aßen wir eine Garnelencocktail — schön frisch mit Sellerie und drei Riesengarnelen und eine Foie Gras. Beide Vorspeisen waren sicher nicht preiswert, aber toll arrangiert und vor allem lecker.
Zur Hauptspeise gab es das Kalbkotelett für 2 am Knochen — mit üppigen Beilagen (u.a. eine große Schüssel Salat) für € 75, — Klar, preiswert essen läßt sich woanders besser — aber erstens ist das «Entrecôte» kein Spot für alle Tage und ausserdem weiss ich das vorher, weil ich auf der Website alle Gerichte und Preise nachlesen kann.
Der Service sei noch mal erwähnt — aussergewöhnlich aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken.
Wir sind total happy ins Berliner Nachtleben entschwunden…

Allgemein
Eher versteckt befindet sich das französische Restaurant in einer Nebenstraße. Auf den ersten Blick glaubt in ein sehr kleines Restaurant einzutreten, aber dies täuscht. Gemütliche Bänke und Tische laden zu einem Besuch ein.
Bedienung
Hier hat man das Gefühl, dass man wirklich bei einem Franosen: Der Kellner spricht fanzösisch — Begrüßung und auch sonst fließt dezent etwas Französisch mit ein. Für Frankreich-​Fanatiker wie mich genau das richtige.
Das Essen
Wir hatten drei verschiedene Salate und die gratinierte Zwiebelsuppe.
Die Salate sind von der Größe her wirklich Vorspeisen, aber sehr lecker — egal ob mit Walnüssen, gegrilltem Ziegenkässe oder Hähnchen.
Es wird leckeres Baguette gereicht. Knusprig, aber keineswegs ausgetrocknet.
Die Zwiebelsuppe ist richtig lecker — die beste, die ich je gegessen.
Das Ambiente
Frische Blumen werten das Ambiente auf. Typische Holzvertäfelung (zumindest für Paris) an den Wänden. Sonst dezente Dekoration — keine übertriebene Frankreichdeko.

Im Entrecôte kann man wirklich nichts falsch machen. Das Ambiente ist gehoben und wertig. Der Service war bei uns immer sehr professionell.
Das Essen ist dem Namen entsprechend recht Fleischlastig. Die Qualität ist im Vergleich zu den großen Steakhouseketten aber gut und die Preise durchaus fair.
Die Weine haben mich auch meist überzeugt.
Immer wieder gerne.

Wem es nach einem klassischen Kinderteller in Deluxeversion gelüstet, der ist hier im Entrecôte bei einem köstlichen Chateaubriand nebst Streichholzpommes und Möhren-​Erbsen-​Gemüse bestens beraten.
In angenehm entspannter Atmosphäre lässt es sich herrlich schlemmen, während man von französisch-​sprechenden Kellnern den Nachschlag nach Muttern-​Art großzügig aufgetan bekommt.
Seelig-​gesättigt und zufrieden krönte das frische Champagner-​Zitronensorbet den wohlschmeckenden Gaumenschmaus.

We were hungry after a long day of sightseeing. Looked to Unilocal to help us find a good restaurant. Excited to try this restaurant. Although restaurant only appeared half full, we were told they were full. Wouldn’t sets us at empty bar or at near empty outside table.

Heute wollte ich einmal dieses Restaurant probieren.
Der Empfang war ja noch zuvorkommend und wir (2 Personen) wurden auch nett platziert.
Leider warteten wir nach der Übergabe der Speisekarten 20 Minuten das jemand die Bestellung aufnimmt aber nichts passierte.
Wir waren gegen 17 Uhr dort und das Restaurant war wirklich leer.
Das Essen welches in der Speisekarte steht macht schon Appetit aber was bringt das wenn man nicht bestellen kann?
Habe vielleicht auch nur einen schlechten Tag erwischt.

Einfach wahnsinnig gutes Essen! Es zählt natürlich eher zu einem gehobenen Restaurant, deshalb wäre Jackett/​Kleid, finde ich, angebracht!
Das Essen, insbesondere der Lachs und die Streichholzkartoffeln, sind sehr zu empfehlen!

Heute habe ich das Business — Lunch versucht und war angenehm überrascht.
Schnell, gut und preislich moderat … was möchte mann mehr!

Wer mich kennt, weiß dass ich mich ziere, 5 Sterne zu vergeben. Aber hier passt einfach alles. Das Essen von hoher Qualität und von Geschmack her lecker, das Ambiente authentisch und nicht zuletzt der Service, stets aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Gäste waren zufrieden. So wie es sein muss. Gerne wieder.

Simple pure perfection. Their entrecôte, shoe string fries, beans and Bourgogne… Can’t beat it. Super service — fast, professional and friendly without becoming kissass.

Ein wenig versteckt, in Berlin Mitte, wo es eher Büros gibt, befindet sich dieser französischer Restaurant.
Mann kann ein Menu oder von der Karte bestellen, die sehr vielfältig ist. Ich hatte eine mega feine Cesar Salat mit Hummer und meine Familie das berühmte Gegrilltes Roastbeef in feine Streifen geschnitten,
dazu Fred s Sauce und Streichholzkartoffeln… Hmmmmmm!!!
Es ist nicht billig, da man ja in Berlin normaler weise nicht so viel Zahlt, aber wir haben den Geburtstag meines Vaters gefeiert und so war es Wert dahinzugehen!

This is one of the best French restaurants in Berlin. My first thought was that because this was so close to where I lived, it would not be worth the time. But after a review from a fellow member here. I decided to give it a try.
And what a try, the main course took some time, but the atmosphere and service made up this without problems.
If you are in the vicinity, and are searching for a good meal, and a great atmosphere. This is the place.

Je suis retourné 4 fois en famille et c’est toujours un très bon resto. Les prix sont un peu élevés et les desserts médiocres: les profiteroles sortent-​elles de chez Picard ?
Bön mais au total cela vaut le coup !

Sehr angenehmes Ambiente!!! eigentlich hierfür schon sechs Punkte. Einer meiner Lieblingsfranzosen in der Stadt. Gutes Steak, perfekte Frites, super Sauce Bérnaise. Frischer Salat. Gute Weine bereits im offenen Ausschank, die allerdings dann schon am Portemonaie kratzen :-(
Der Service ist aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich, das Team ist eingespielt und besteht aus einer gut gemischten alten Stamm-​Mannschaft, die ich so nun schon gut 10 Jahre kenne (denen einen oder anderen).
Das sorgt dafür, dass man dort einen perfekten Abend verbringen kann.

French food in the heart of Berlin. It was full of big groups, so I guess this is the place for team dinners or reunions. Food was decent, atmosphere was plain but warm. I was also jet lagged, so dim lighting was not in my favor.

Beautiful interior and great food. We had the Foie Gras as a starter. Was good not great. Amateurish presentation with limp parsley and a sliced cherry tomato. We both had the Lamb. We ordered it rare and it was cooked perfectly. Six nice chops with haricot vert wrapped in bacon, served with an excellent potato gratin in a small dish on the side. Was really delicious. We ordered an inexpensive bottle of red from the Languedoc. The only sour point was the service. I felt like we were treated like tourists who didn’t know anything. The server tried to upsell us through out the meal. Dessert was also quite good.

eins meiner lieblingsrestaurants in Berlin! Das Fleisch ist super, die streichholzpommes etwas besonderes und die spezialsauce (manchmal ein bißchen salzig), aber es passt super zusammen.
Wenn es mal etwas besonderes sein soll, kann ich es nur empfehlen”! Aber vorher reservieren und schon mindestens 20 Euro Pro Person einkalkulieren.

Fresh food, simple preparation, nice atmosphere, fantastic service.
We had a large group for dinner at Entrecôte and I wasn’t sure they could pull this off, but they did. We weren’t rushed and weren’t abandoned. A variety of starters, all well prepared and delicious. The favorite was a frizzee and endive salad with beautiful lemon vinaigrette and baked chevre. The vinaigrette was superb and the chevre added an earthy layer of flavor and texture. Similarly, a variety of main’s but tonight’s highlight was asparagus with X, where X could be beef, salmon, pork or wiener schnitzel. Classic preparation with fresh local ingredients. It’s spargle season in Germany and this dish was wonderful — Warm, perfectly cooked and served with butter or hollandaise. I had the schnitzel, excellent; served with lemon and capers, a nice acidic counterpoint to the veal. At the end, An excellent dessert selection and a delightful offering of cheese.
The only drawback was the location of our table. Right next to the front door, kind of out of the way and didn’t allow you to take in the ambiance of restaurant.
But I’ll be back. This was delightful.

After having waited in line at the Reichstag for several hours, I was more than ready for lunch. I found Entrecôte in the Michelin Red guide, and it lived up to my expectations.
The menu was extensive enough to satisfy every member of my sometimes picky group. I hate to admit that I loved their perfectly frit pommes frites.
The sidewalk tables were popular, and we were fortunate to get the last one. Although upon taking a trip inside, I found that the interior tables would have been great too.
The service was attentive. No complaints here.

Good selection of wines, great steaks, fantastic pommes allumettes (chips), and a complete cheese platter (all unpasterised). One of my favorite lunch places.

d’accord la cuisine Francaise est le top, mais pas forcément si coûteuse…
L’Entrecôte exagère à ce niveau-​là et c’est dommage !

They are all in all a bit on the spendy side but also have great simpler dishes which are at a fair price.
If you are nearby and in the mood for a Great french meal I would highly recommend going here for Steak, frites and salad

je connais ce restaurant depuis son ouverture. Franchement, affligeant de voir ce restaurant supposé être le meilleur de Berlin. La carte est banale, les entrecôtes né sont pas données, la carte de vin (pareil pour les plats) na rien doriginal, privilégie les languedocs pour faire pas cher, et pour le reste de cette carte, cest très quelconque et sans imagination. Lambiance cantine upper class à Mitte avec un design très standard qui né veut pas faire de faute de gout est un peu ennuyeux. Depuis que je vis à nouveau à Paris, cest le genre de restaurant qui mennuie profondément. Cest dommage, car en prenant plus de risques et avec plus dimagination, il y a vraiment de quoi faire un beau restaurant. Je crois que les berlinois méritent mieux que des compromis très standards. par ex? Saint Tropez, ETA Hoffmann, Le Piaf, le Cochon bourgeois (cher mais excellent), un cran au dessous niveau gastronomique mais dans une ambiance agréable, la Cocotte, café Jacques, jen passé et des meilleurs.
