Es war nicht schlecht aber habe etwas mehr erwartet. Es ist auch ein bisschen überteuert!

Das ist für mich das Orginal für vietnamesische Banh, da ich sie hier vor ca. 5 Jahren zum ersten Mal gegessen habe, das Ambiente mit den Gläsern voller Zitronen, witzige Idee.
Ich finde die Qualität nach wie vor gut, auch Tagesgerichte u. die anderen Speisen, empfinde ich noch immer echt lecker und das nach gefühlt 500 Besuchen
Die Damen im Service wirken manchmal etwas unfreundlich, da Sie zum Teil sehr schlecht deutsch sprechen.
Noch ausnutzen, solange er noch da ist, der Mietvertrag soll bald auslaufen, dann wird er sich Mitte, wie so viele nicht mehr leisten können.

Food was fresh and tasted very good. Also was a lot — price quality was very good. Only the atmosphere there could be better — meaning music, interior etc.
Staff was friendly.

Terrible experience!!! Some of my friends suggested me to go there and test out this sandwich place. I ordered banh xi classic. This dish should have consist of baked cake, chicken, and fried shrimps. Soon, I received my order. However, it was missing shrimps inside of the cake. When I noted this, my plate was taken back to the kitchen and returned to me with 3 tiny raw (!) shrimps thrown on top of it. I have several disappointments with this service: First, I have expected that they prepare a new cake, instead of throwing raw shrimps on top. Second, number and size of shrimps, which I expected to be more than 3 tiny pieces when I pay 8 EUR for just a cake. Third, approximately 1h later after that dish, I got dizzy and got also stomach ache. So I strongly think, that they haven’t used fresh ingredients or they have a huge problem with hygiene somewhere in the kitchen.
Overall: I would not suggest to go there. You are better of to go to a bakery around the corner and have better quality for less.

Das leckerste Baguette das ich je in meinen Leben gegessen habe! Bin süchtig nach den «Banh mi».
Ich könnte sowas den ganzen Tag essen! Die Bedienung ist leider nicht so freundlich und die Preise etwas hoch. Aber ab und zu kann man sich sowas auch mal gönnen wenn ich in der Nähe bin.
Leider 2 Punkte Abzug aufgrund dem Personal und den Preisen :(

Nachdem ich einmal bei einem Imbiss in der Kantstraße (leider geschlossen!) fantastische vietnamesische Baguettes gegessen habe, suche ich nach einem Ersatzladen. Dieser hier ist es leider nicht. Die Baguettes waren recht geschmacklos, gefüllt mit «billigen» geschmacklosen Gemüsesorten. Die Soßen hätten da viel retten können, taten sie aber nicht. Dazu waren sie zu wenig aromatisch und vor allem gar nicht asiatisch.
Das einzig interessante an diesem Laden: Sie bieten salzige ZItronenlimo an.

Sehr tolle Alternative zu einem großen, schweren Mittagessen. Lecker Menü mit Lemongras Meat Ball Banh Mi (Baguette), Mango Pudding und Grüner Tee mit Lemongrass und Ingwer für etwa 9 €.
Lecker, schnell, passend, nett. Love it!

In a word — Vietnamese baguette with some grumpy service.
Longer version (for the brave) — after a loooong period of time I really wanted to check out that place and figure out what the hype is about, finally — I walked in.
At first glance, the place looks nice, good atmosphere and all… Then I started thinking what I should order… There are not many options, but ended up taking the Chay.
Luckily I’ve noticed they don’t really ask you what to put inside, and just put everything — so it was kinda last minute before I asked to leave to tomatoes out, phew!
As a starter we also took summer rolls with tofu, and also — got my complimentary drink (if you check in :))
Unfortunately it only happened after the cashier had no idea what to do and then another lady said «you can only have the house drink» in a very mad way (don’t care — it was yummy!)
So food arrived — we got the summer rolls still wrapped in the plastic they were covered in, take it off at least!
And then, got my sandwich, with a hair on it! Oh joy.
My friend’s order was all wrong — he’s vegetarian and got chicken in his sandwich, when he asked them to change it the same lady that was angry before was very upset with him too, after they got the order wrong, ridiculous.
Eventually, he got a new one.
And now — to the flavor — except the pickled veggies that took over (we’re tasty) and the little sriracha sauce I put on it, the sandwich tasted like nothing, there was almost no tofu and barely seasoned.
so to be honest — it was pretty empty (as in barely filled) and the last few bites were pure bread.
Also, it’s pretty small, so if you are very hungry this is clearly not enough.
Overall, had high hopes for this place, but it all went down the drain after today.
Anyone knows a good proper banh mi that could make up for this experience?

Sehr leckere exotische Reismehlbaguettes und gute Säfte, dazu angenehm geschäftige Atmosphäre und mit etwas Glück ein Platz am Fenster.

I stopped by at this place years ago (the time when you were still like, woah, a banh mi place in Berlin?!)… also at a time when CoCo was focusing on banh mi’s only. They now extended their menu to offer other delights, like phở and rice bowls.
I like that the flavors here are less white-​washed than at other Vietnamese places around the city, and that CoCo actually has the courage to serve more traditional food. It pays off — the place is usually busy and they now even offer to make a reservation.
Highlights: Bánh mì Chicken (5.50 Euro), Bánh xèo Beef (6.50 Euro), Ph Gà (8 Euro) — nice job on the broth.

Das Postive zuerst: Essen und Getränke waren wirklich lecker.
Leider war die Bedienung ziemlich unfreundlich. Wir mussten sie quasi anbetteln (nett und freundlich haben wir darum gebeten), dass die den Tisch wenigstens notdürftig abwischt. Was dazu führte, dass sie lautstark mit ihrer Kollegin über uns gelästert hat.
Bei der Zubereitung des frischen Saftes wurde sich leider nicht die Mühe gemacht, die Aufkleber vom Obst zu entfernen, geschweige denn das Obst vorher mal kurz abzuspülen. Einfach rein in den Entsafter.
Während des Essens wurden Bauarbeiten am Fußboden durchgeführt, was gestaubt hat und wirklich laut war, so dass wir uns nicht mehr unterhalten konnten.
Schade, hatte viel Gutes über den Laden gehört.
Fazit: 1x und nie wieder.

This was one of the first places that we ate at in Berlin. I was struck by how fresh everything tasted.
I had a veg phở that was very tasty. It had lots of flavor, sometimes veg broths are a little lacking, but not this one.
My husband had a chicken banh mi. The sauce and bread was excellent.
The staff was very sweet.
It all felt very nourishing.

Wir hatten das Menü Beef di Opla bestellt und bekamen unglaublich saftige und leckere Sandwichs. Beim nächsten Besuch werde ich aber eine andere Kombination wählen. Der Nachtisch sah nämlich auch gut aus.

This place offers vietnamese style banh mi which i have been looking for for quite a while. The place is very pretty and the ingredients were lay out freshly. We ordered the bbq and the coco kind and both were pretty amazing. Not to compare it to the original banh mi but i was very happy to find this place in germany. It was really good but maybe a little expensive for a lunch snack. However we did come again for lunch the next they and it was delicious since we didnt have breakfast and were starving. Overall a good experience.

Also, wenn ich hier manche Beiträge lese, kann ich nur den Kopf schütteln. Ich habe seit einer Woche Besuch von meiner Mutter, sie besteht täglich auf den Besuch. Wer Asien kennt, weiß, das hier alles exzellent abgeschmeckt ist. Der Service ist extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend. Nur, weit ein Luxuslokal erwartet, ist falsch hier. Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll, stilvoll, aber es ist ein Imbiss, das muss man wissen. 10 Sterne!

This is a great lunch place! They have a limited menu, but everything they offer is fresh and delicious. And the interior is very nicely done. The meals and hot drinks are also served in cute ceramic cups and plates!
I wouldn’t recommend to sit and work there because the chairs are not that comfortable, and the Internet (if you need that), never works.

If u have never tried banh mi in general… Definitely try it! For Germany it’s above average. For sure quite a big difference to banh mi in Vietnam… Still good though!

The sandwich was interesting, the phở was ok. The broth wasn’t as flavorful as I’d hope — or maybe it’s just I been spoiled bc cali viet food is like being in Vietnam. But it was super clean, had wifi, and great décor. They were also pretty fast

Great pit stop for quick, healthy meal, especially for vegetarians. The menu at Cô Cô is simple and limited: primarily Vietnamese banh mi and carrot/​kohlrabi/​cabbage salads. There is no phở!
Everything on the menu is available in vegetarian form, and the fried tofu is great! The banh mi is decent, but the carrot/​kohlrabi/​cabbage salad is wonderful. Slight sweet and tangy.
Order at the counter and take a seat where ever you like. They have a beautiful private outdoor courtyard. Semi-​English menu is available. Prices range from 6 – 8 Euros per dish.
The service is not the most friendly, and the food is served on disposable paper. Otherwise, Cô Cô is a great option right next to the splendid Circus Hotel.

Nice place for a quick meal. The bahn mi has a nice assortment of garnishes. The Vietnamese ice coffee was also great.

Die vietnamesischen Baguettes sind unglaublich lecker und frisch. Die Baguettes werden zügig zubereitet, mit Gemüse, tollen Soßen und was man sonst so drauf haben möchte.

Die «Sandwiches» sind mit Sicherheit geschmacklich sehr authentisch. Wirklich lecker sogar.
Frisch zubereitet von einer etwas grimmigeren Dame. Aber gut, es hat geregnet.
Als «casual fast food» muss ich jedoch sagen, dass die Portion für 5 € einfach nicht annähernd satt gemacht hat. Und deshalb nur 4 Sterne.

Bánh Mi´s, wie ich sie mir vorstelle — in Köln leider immer noch nicht erhältlich.
Darüber hinaus bietet das Co Co weitere Leckereien sowie Säfte, Tee´s und so weiter.
Die Preise sind für Berlin vielleicht etwas höher als normal, dafür wird auch bessere Qualität als normal angeboten. Ich hatte einen fantastischen Sandwich mit einer tollen Mayo und wunderbar zartem Fleisch — und vor allem einer schönen Würze…
Für mich persönlich nicht so toll ist die eher Bistro-​Atmosphäre. Es ist halt ein Deli und kein wirkliches Café oder Restaurant.

Ich habs in einem lokalen Frankfurter Blatt gelesen und zudem einige Wochen vorher eine YouTube Reportage über Banh Mi geschaut. So wurde meine Neugier für das vietnamesische Sandwich geweckt und so zog es mich in den hübsch aufgemachten Laden!
Neben Banh Mi gabs es noch andere Gerichte, diese habe ich aber vernachlässigt und so probierte ich das Sandwich. Die Beef Variante & die Classic Variante, letztere war deutlich leckerer und das Zusammenspiel der vielen unterschiedlich Beläge & Kräuter entwickelte einen sehr intensiven Geschmack.
Eine sattmachende Portion für 5 €, was soll man also anderes geben als 5 Sterne?

Das Cô Cô Bánh Mì wurde uns von einer amerikanischen Freundin mit vietnamesischen Wurzeln empfohlen. Jetzt wissen wir, warum.
Was wir zu essen bekamen (vietnamesische Sandwiches und Omelette mit Salat) war einfach klasse. Alles war frisch und lecker. Die Bedienung freundlich.
Wir empfehlen diesen «Schnellimbiss» der besonderen Art gerne weiter.

Der Laden an sich ist durchgestylt schick, leider lagen hier und da sehr alte, unappetitliche Zitronen rum — die sollte man besser entsorgen.
Die Idee vietnamesische Sandwiches zu machen finde ich witzig und sie schmecken auch lecker! Zu den Sommerrollen gibt es bedauerlicherweise keine Erdnuss-​Soße.
Den süß-​sauren Eistee mit Limetten kann ich nicht empfehlen, leider war die Kellnerin auch nicht bereit nachdem dieser uns überhaupt nicht schmeckte eine Alternative anzubieten. Unflexibel und freundlich war sie auch nicht — Schade!

After searching high and low for *any* kind of Banh Mi in Berlin (meaning about 10 minutes of Unilocaling/​Googling), I found this place and had to go since 1. I love Banh Mi and 2. Everyone raves about it. When I got there I found the décor to be hip and fresh, the ingredients to make sandwiches clearly visible from the order counter. I ordered a special sandwich, since I figured it would be the best baseline experience for this place. When I got my food, I thought the presentation was great. I found, however, that the sandwich was a bit on the boring side and really heavy on the mayo-​like sauce. The pâté was not what I was expecting, and was a lot saltier than I thought it should be. I would definitely come back here to give it another try, but I may also continue my search for the best Banh Mi elsewhere in Berlin.

One of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat in Berlin. The chicken banh mi is delicious and well-​assembled. I especially love banh mi because of the crisp veggies and the sprigs of coriander/​cilantro, and Co Co doesn’t skimp in this regard.
Last time we were there we tried the Phở, which was okay, but I’ve had better. Definitely not as good as the banh mi. We also ordered the hot ginger tea, which was amazing and hit the spot on a cold day. It was served in a big tumbler that was stuffed with spears of fresh ginger and hot water with honey on the side. So good.
The interior space itself is very pretty, with plenty of counter seating. We ate out on a courtyard once during the summer.

Had the Tofu phở which was good and very reasonably priced, staff was friendly, stylish interior and the food arrived very quickly

Kleiner Imbiss mit herrlichen Gefüllten Broten im Angebot. Diese werden vor den Augen sofort frisch zubereitet und schmecken wirklich sehr lecker. Kann das nur empfehlen.

I would call myself a banh mi fanatic. It is one of my favorite sandwiches and I used to indulge quite frequently when I lived in the USA in an area with a high concentration of Vietnamese communities. This wasn’t the best banh mi I’ve ever had but it was quite tasty and the prices weren’t bad.
I had the chicken banh mi and my husband ordered the special. We got our sandwiches quickly and enjoyed watching the friendly man behind the counter assemble them. They do Germanize the sandwiches a bit by adding things like tomato and onion but all of the banh mi essentials like pickled veggies & cilantro were there. I was really missing slices of fresh jalapeño though! But I suppose that’s what I get for moving to Germany. The sandwiches were pretty large and had a lot of meat. I’m not sure if the baguettes were homemade? I would guess not; from what I’ve read it is fairly difficult and time consuming to make the baguettes properly.
We also both ordered glasses of hot Vietnamese coffee — the perfect companion to any banh mi sandwich, in my opinion. The coffee was fine but I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t served with the filter on top of the glass. There’s just something special about watching the coffee drip and waiting until it finishes to enjoy your delicious drink!
Overall, I had a lovely meal that satisfied my banh mi craving. I will definitely be going back!
P. S. I accidentally left my cell phone on the picnic table and one of the women from the shop ran after us to return it to me — I was beyond thankful! For that reason alone I feel like I owe them many return trips. :)

Good banh mi. Comparable to what you can get in the States, and reasonable affordable. The space is beautiful and there’s enough seating for lunch.
I split the classic and the special. I don’t remember the difference other than the special cost a tiny bit more and had more meat. Both were good though. They also put tomato in their sandwiches, which is a bit different from other banh mi that I’ve had.
Staff is friendly and they understand English, but I don’t think they speak it.
Definitely recommend going for a quick lunch.

A friend was visiting from out of town and invited me to have dinner. He had a job interview close by, so I suggested we meet here.
He had the Phở which he said was great and I had the Bánh Mì Special, 4,90 € now. I thought it was very tasty and fresh but as Bánh Mì is small, a bit expensive. We each had a beer as well.

Looking for a quick bite to eat and craving a banh mi, stopped in this hip little place. It may be that I ordered wrong (classic) but I wasn’t too impressed. Got some fatty pork served by a really rude girl. If she gave me an opportunity to change the meat — lemongrass pork meatballs looked amazing — I would have. But she just stuffed the bagguette with the fat and kept stuffing, including putting onions which I specifically said to leave out. She picked it out after I commented, but she looked like she’s rather be anywhere other than serving folks. Get a new job.
As for the sandwich, it was a good value and the pickled veggies were on point. But it was just way too fatty. I tossed out ½ of it because of it. Next time I’d try something else.

4,50 euro for the bánh mì Special, the French bread is light and crunchy as it should be, the fillings were fresh and tasty, I love pâté, great quick bite if you’re in the area.

Leider hat es mir damals nicht geschmeckt und habe es dann vor kurzem wieder probiert, da es sich ja nach Monaten-​Jahren ja ändern kann.
Leider schmeckt es immer noch nicht so dolle asiatisch wie ich es kenne, die würze fehlen und das essen war bei manchen angebrannt, was natuerlich alles übertönt.

One of the most stylish and inviting banh mi shops I’ve ever visited anywhere. Lots of counter height seating; filled with fresh flowers, cute little potted plants; attractively displayed jars of pickled veggies and baskets of fresh fruit. It is a visually beautiful place.
What I think is very good here: the vietnamese coffee is brewed strong and with a generous amount of condensed milk. Just the way I like it and presented prettily with a clear glass and wooden saucer. Although I think a bit pricey for Berlin at 2.70 EU for a very small cup. Still worth it in my opinion. If you don’t like sweet coffee, you might still like this because it’s not the same taste as just sugared up coffee.
The banh mi itself was a tad disappointing for me. Here’s why: the bread doesn’t have enough crust, the use of tomato as a garnish really watered down the taste of the pickled vegetables (which is one of my favourite flavours in banh mi!), and the fresh green chillies were missing. It’s still a very tasty sandwich and I would eat here again. But I recommend asking them to hold the tomato and only use pickled veg in the sandwich.

Le prix est raisonnable: cinq euros ou un peu moins le sandwich et les boissons sont à moins de deux euros.

Ich war hier sehr zufrieden. Die Bedienung sehr hilfsbereit. Die Athmosphäre war einfach toll.
Zu empfehlen sind der frische Ingwertee, sowie die Suppe und das belegte Baguette.
Wenn ich wieder in der Nähe bin, werde ich bestimmt eine der Spezialitäten wieder genießen!

Leckeres, frisches Fast Food! Subway, take this! Die Kombinationen sind super, die Zutaten ein ganz bisschen ungewohnt und außergewöhnlich und das Preis/​Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.
Service gibt es halt nur an der Theke und beim Kassieren, da hab ich aber nichts dran auszusetzen. Was wirklich aber gar nicht in Ordnung war und dafür gibt es auch einen ganzen Punkt Abzug ist die ungepflegte, dreckige Toilette. Hallo, das ist ein Restaurant! Da gibt es Hygienestandards, die sollten eingehalten werden!
Beim nächsten Berlin-​Trip komm ich gerne wieder!

Yeah, so after a beer, me and my friends crossed the road to get some banh mi here, 20 minutes before they closed. I have to say, I lost my banh mi virginity tonight. And boy, it was a great experience.
First, let me talk about the setup. You open the door, read the menu above, and order. You pay then. Then you take a seat, and wait for your food. They’ll deliver it to your table in 5 minutes. And wow, you’re in for a ride. Before this one, I never knew why some baguette filled with stuff can be something to rave about. Now I know. I am not sure whether other banh mi places are this good, but this one definitely sets the bar rather high. I ordered the banh mi special, and for 4,50 EUR, I got something worth raving about.
I also like the ambience. Even though we walked in 20 minutes before closing, we never felt rushed or anything. It wasn’t like they were itching to kick us out the door. We still were able to enjoy our meal in peace and quiet.
I’ll definitely come back here again. I will try other banh mi places, but I think I’ll always come back here no matter what.
