We went there for lunch. The menu items are rather creative in there description but don’t deliver on that promise in full. I had the pork bun where the meat was chewy, the flavor good but not exceptional and the portion overall small. The staff tried to create s hip and trendy atmosphere by being overly chatty, casual and hip which was fun for a few minutes but turn rather annoying shortly after. In addition the waiting times in an almost empty place, for a hot dog and a burger were way too long, almost comparable to transit next door.

I tried their hot dog, not here, but at Prince Charles during a Burgers and Hiphop event. I would give it a 3.5 stars. Everything is homemade including the bao bun and it’s topped with a pickled mango/carrot slaw and fried glass noodles. I really liked the slaw because it was pickled and crunchy, but I thought it was still missing another type of flavor(maybe adding a sweet hoisin sauce or something would’ve been a nice touch with the bao bun). Berliners really love their Asian fusion food to have a bao bun with everything ha. It was 4 euros. Anyways the workers were nice, but they did forget to give me my order and gave someone behind me their food first…

Oh man. I’m a firm believer in not reviewing places I won’t be back to — why talk about bad stuff while you can talk about the yummy goodness you can easily find in Berlin? Given I am the first reviewer, I want to be fair to these guys. So lets look at the different components: Service, food, and value for money. Service: We order a bun bao, and seaweed salad. The seaweed salad is pre-prepared and we get it right then. We pay the sub-waiter, and wait for the bun bao. We are the only customers, except for a father waiting for his kid to finish slowly eating his cake. And we wait. And wait. 20 min later, the main lady came to clean the seaweed salad remnants, and asked if everything is ok. I responded that we are waiting for the bun. She heard it as «waiting for the rain» and said«oh sure, please feel free to» and goes away. I wait 10 more minutes and then go and ask her about my bun bao with my bill. She was shocked, and apologetic, and got her cook to make us a bun bao in the next 10 minutes. She also offered us a free dish on the house while we wait. Awesome, super service. We order the stuff she recommended and wait, and the food comes. tl, dr: Service was slow even though we were only the second set of customers. But main lady did her best to rectify the situation. Points for being friendly, apologetic, and offering something while we wait. Food: Now, I have waited in place for upto an hour for them to cook their food from scratch — and it was worth it. The bun bao comes. The pork is definitely pre-cooked. The cook did not even put it to the steamer to soften it out, and it is very chewey(not in a good way). The bun is crunchy, but not warm. It’s a meh effort. The hot-dog — I would expect a hot dog to be hot. The hotdog bun was not warm, and the hot dog itself was not piping hot. They then drowned it in a bunch of cold green curry sauce with eggplant. While I appreciate the effort to try out new things, you should get people to taste test things before you add them to menu. I hope the cold green curry was a mistake(I’m sure it would be very good when the green curry was warm/hot) otherwise this place has much bigger problems. Seriously, if the cook recommended cold green curry on a hot dog, fire the cook — they don’t know the first thing about taste. The standard is ok if you’re the only viet place in some bumfuck middle of nowhere, but when your neighbours are Transit, chen che, Co-co bahn, Yumcha heroes etc. you really need to step up your game. I’d recommend tasting the food made by your competition to know the minimum level you need to hit before paying heavy rent to open up yet another asian restaurant. tl, dr: pre-made food, no clue about what works best at what state, won’t eat again even if given for free. Value for money: The seaweed salad was too little for 3.50 € in Berlin. It’s about ¾ the size of a normal portion and there was no discernible difference in taste. I think they really need to up their game for the place to provide value for the money you pay. I think i wasted my money and I only paid for two dishes. I had to go and eat a better dish at Qua Phe to cleanse my palate and elevate my mood after this experience. I hope some of their competition poaches the nice overseer lady — she deserves better food to represent than this.
