There are jalapeño, jalapeño with thai chili peppers, habanero, and a red lentil burgers on offer. I ordered the Habaneroburger and shared the Chilipommes. The owner warned me of the habanero pepper’s heat but I went for it. My mouth and nostrils started to sting while eating the second half of the burger. Then they went numb, so I could go to town on my burger. The beef patties were great, not too compressed and not too seasoned. The buns(brioche?) were softer than the buns served at other burger joints in the area but I may have enjoyed them more. The one thing I wish I could have ordered was an apfelschorle. I had a still water, which I guessss is good for not overpowering the taste of the food but I would have like something sweet other than cola or orangina. There are retail items on offer at Beissbeere as well, from chili soda to bottled hot sauces. The owner also grows and sells entire pepper plants. The seating is limited, so it might feel crowded in the winter but the owner cooks the food quickly, so there will probably be a fast table turnover too.
