I feel bad giving this place one star, honestly, but I really think foreigners should be aware: these guys are ripping people off! We have a party of 20, which, I’ll admit, is hard to accommodate. However, I found it VERY uncool that they brought out tons of meze without waiting for anyone to order it. Some people ordered main courses. Needless to say, most of the un-​ordered meze and salads went untouched for the entire time we were there, 2 or 3 hours. We basically assumed that they were complimentary.
Service was tough to get also. I waited for about 30 – 45 minutes before being asked what I wanted, although I repeatedly try to flag down a waiter.
When it came time to pay, not only did they say that there was a flat fee — everyone would pay 15TL for the meze + their meal and drink, they refused to show us the «breakdown» of the bill. AND there was an automatic service charge of 20%, so we all were supposed to contribute 20TL.
Our gracious host (it was her birthday) felt terrible since most people hadn’t touched the meze and had instead ordered main dishes, and were now paying like twice what they expected to pay. When the bill came up 300+ TL short, she actually covered it.
I was mortified. The whole experience left everyone upset and lots of yelling went on.
Place was not packed, so it was not like we were taking up too much space! I would never go back here, ever.
