Hyatt Regency Istanbul Atakoy

Brand new Hyatt (opened in January) on the verge of becoming 5 stars…
Stayed here for 3 nights in August.
Pros:
Beautiful. Spectacular views & incredible décor.
Elaborate pools; indoor & outdoor
Large rooms & bathroom (biggest rain shower head I’ve had in hotel room)
Some rooms have view of sea
Convenience to airport
Fruit brought to room, thanking us for arrival
Guest Relations came down to thank us for our stay at check-​out
Allowed us to check-​in VERY early 9:30am
Free internet
Bottle water in room, free of charge
Great fitness center (although needs fans for when people are working out)
Buffet & Lounge, although pricey, great views
Cons:
Distance to tourist sights (über was much cheaper than cabs)
Construction on either side (although it was quieter than expected)
Quirks to work out. For example, air conditioner wasn’t working one night. We called the front desk and they apologized and brought up cold water. Air conditioner was working again within an hour (front desk called the next day to apologize again).
Smoking (although both rooms were suppose to be non-​smoking, one of the rooms smelled like smoke)
Staff was newer & inconsistent; some days very friendly and other days not. some days they checked on guests going to pool, other days not.
Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Great location and view. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Make sure to walk to the Marina area and across the street to enjoy the small shops and restaurants.

This hotel is conveniently located near the airport, which is why we stayed here the very first night of our stay in Istanbul and why we are here again for our last night. It will take 30 TL– 40 TL to get from
Old town Istanbul (near the Bosphorus bridge) to this hotel.
Everyone speaks English here and is incredibly welcoming. Staff explained that they trying a new system with a custom minibar where when you need something, you dial zero and they bring it to you. I’ve never heard of that before, but in a way, it makes sense and is smart since the customer gets what he/​she wants when needed and the staff doesn’t have to keep track of items in stock.
This hotel is relatively new (opened recently about 3 or 4 months ago) so everything is in perfect condition. I was impressed with the staff. The manager or someone high up in staff assisted us with our checkin (I believe he was training one of the newer staff members) and we checked in at 3am. I think that speaks volumes with the quality of service when upper management is visibly present and makes sure things are running well even at off-​peak hours. The men at the front desk upgraded us to a suite which was free of charge. That’s always nice! The bags were delivered to our room super quick. The manager even made it his mission to make sure our other stays at the Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt were comfortable and inputted notes in the computer for us. I believe that’s why we had really nice rooms throughout our entire stay at Istanbul. Hyatt hotels definitely take very good care of their members and for that reason, we are grateful and continue to stay at Hyatt locations.

Great location, great rooms, wonderful front desk staff. Room is huge with marble floors bathroom, separate shower and tub, multiple plugs everywhere, safe, thick cotton towels, bathroom robe, iron and table in room, business desk in room, free internet, great views of the sea outside. The bed and pillows are super comfortable. Ac is quite but effective. Many lights in the room. You won’t hear any noise, so i had a comfortable sleep.
Restaurant is fantastic. Try the meze 6plates. Also their roasted organic chicken is wonderfull. The deserts are awesome.
Nothing to complain about.
Little far away from the Topkapi palace area. Expect to pay a taxi 50TL each way to get there.
There are two luxury modern malls close to this hotel that you can get to with a car within 5 minutes.

I recently stayed at this Hyatt, which is pretty new. It’s located not too far from the airport. Although I was there for personal travel, this place is great for business travelers.
First, most everyone spoke a fair amount of English, so it was easy to communicate with the hotel staff.
Second, the employees were extremely friendly and hospitable. Definitely willing to help you in any way possible.
Third, they also have an all-​you-​can-​eat dessert bar, which is just a notch above awesome. It’s pretty cheap, but if you just want a small bit to eat and you’re staying at the hotel, they will just give you a piece for free. The restaurant was also very good. Not a huge menu, but some great choices. Their chef is apparently from Indonesia, so if you’re not in the mood for a kabob, I highly recommend trying one of his Asian style dishes, which are packed with flavor.
Fourth, the entire hotel is clean and gorgeous. The outdoor pool area is very well kept. Perfect if you have some time after a business meeting and want to lay by the pool.
Fifth, they have universal outlets in each room so you don’t need a converter… score!
So if you’re looking for a great, safe hotel near the airport and within a 10min walk to the Galleria mall to do some shopping, this is the place to stay. Rates are reasonable and you will certainly enjoy your stay. Did I mention the All-​you-​can-​eat dessert bar???

This is a great place to stay. THe security at the front gate includes a vehicle blocker, and searches to get in, a welcome scene. There’s construction next door which looks like it will take a long time, but the view of the water is expansive. We didn’t do much research on this before booking, because it was close to the airport.
We arrived and checked in quickly even though the drive through rush hour traffic was the usual «worst traffic in the world.» Bags were delivered quickly and everything went well just as you would expect from a hotel of this quality. We changed and took advantage of the free for guests spa privileges and although it was not as hot as we expected we enjoyed the hot tub next to the pool, adjustable features and jets, etc. THe hotel has a wonderful spa and the accommodations are first class in every respect.
Room service was fast and the food we ordered was hot and delicious. We had the «choose your own salad,» and the kabob plate. Coffee, tea and some small snacks were free, but everything in the mini-​fridge was on the «extra» list. The Heineken was 22 tL so it was about the same as any other five star hotel.
THe bathroom has a big tub by European standards, and the same shape of toilet with bidet, with a dual head shower, and while the light switches take a bit of getting used to the electronics and electrical controls are truly state-​of-​the-​art., including the built in speakers in the bathroom ceiling.
All things considered, this is a great stop, especially this close to the airport.
Well recommeded. We will return anytime we have to stop in Istanbul.
