Great food and service. Have eaten here a couple of times now and the quality is consistently good. Recommend the Shepherd salad with any pizza.

the great rooftop terrace provides a nice view to the blue mosque. Food is just so-so.

We went for lunch today and the food and service were all good. However, we were brought a hummus appetizer out with bread that we didn’t order, and so we assumed it was complimentary but were charged for it at the end of the meal. I have read other visitors to Istanbul having similar experiences at various restaurants where they had food or drinks dropped at their table that they didn’t order and were charged for them at the end of the meal. This is a dishonest practice that makes your customers feel taken advantage of. There are more honest ways to increase your ticket prices.

Food here is quite good but the portions could be bigger. This restaurant has like 6 floors!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local. The food was very good, and well priced. The service was also quite good, it’s probably one of the best in the nearby tourist area.

I would guess Doy Doy caters mostly to tourists, based on its location. I walked there after a trip to the Spice Market — it’s hard to find anything that isn’t touristy in this area. I thought the Turkish pizza and salad I had were delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and I loved the chew of the pizza crust. Good service. Reasonably priced for the neighborhood.

If you stay in Sultanahmet, you will encounter a lot of overpriced tourist traps. Among these, Doy Doy stands out for being reasonably priced and having okay food. Of course it is aimed at tourists, and you won’t find the tastiest food in Istanbul here, but it is good value for money given the district it is located in, and the food was fine. We had great service both times we visited, with a friendly waiter who was happy to offer advice when he had a spare moment. On a Thursday night the upstairs was about half full. We ordered urfa kebap, beyti kebap, pomegranate juice, tea, baklava and sutlaç(baked rice pudding) and paid about 45 lira for it. We also ate lunch on a Friday. It was not very crowded. We had kıymalı pide, kuşbaşılı pide and tea, for about 25 lira.
