First impressions. At the entrance there was a really unfriendly waitress who asked if we booked a table. No, since we were just passed by. We wanted a table at the window, but those were booked(60mins later the place was still almost empty.) Luckily we go a much friendlier waiter which was at least happy and asked us if we were happy with the food etc. Food was great and especially the scrambled eggs. On downside was the bread on the brunch plate which was stale, the bread arriving before the brunch was so much better and still warm. Prices are decent and it’s pretty nice view.

The menu looks impressive, but I have yet to try the food. I’m writing a review because this little eclectic place in Liljeholmskajen just recently opened a cute little outdoor seating area. A friend of mine really likes this part of Stockholm and wanted to walk over and check it out. We ordered a pitcher of tropical fruit rum punch that was filled with chunks of pineapple and citrus fruits(250:-) to share. It was enough for 2 – 3 full glasses each. The little«chill area» to one side has shorter seats to lounge in and the other side has full sized café tables so you can eat. The whole outdoor area is really not very big, but It’s surrounded by a little fence that is totally covered in flowers. Adorbs! It’s also right on the water and feels very resort like when the sun is shining. If your up to it, after a little snack and drink, you can also go for a swim off the pier right in front of the restaurant! There were plenty of people out there doing just that! Surprisingly, it was not busy at all yesterday. I would think the afterwork crowd would be interested in a place like this since it’s so close to all the businesses right there on the harbor. There were only a few couples there, me and a friend at 8pm! Oh well, more space for me! I will definitely be back to try some grub next time. Cool place!

The Black Swan is a fairly recently opened gastro pub along Liljeholmskajen. The owners are the same as used to run an old favorite of mine Smakfullt(a few blocks away — now closed and replaced by Sapori). The Black Swan is in the new black tower along the water — still some construction going on along the docks but when it is done this place will be even nicer. It already has a quite nice atmosphere with a bar area with some seats and then a large dining room. We were there a Tuesday evening and it was fairly empty(4 tables and a a few people at the bar) but I do think it is more popular during weekends. The service was nice but perhaps a bit inexperienced(forgetting somethings, not knowing details on wine and beer list) but very friendly. I was impressed by the beer list, a lot to select from by the bottle. The wine list is decent but I would have wanted a bit more initiated recommendations, now I felt more secure to go by my own ideas and views. The menu is fairly extensive and I can see that they are trying to up the prices a bit compared to the days at Smakfullt. The food is is still very good(as at Smakfullt) but the quality has not really increased to warrant a higher price. We sampled some of the charcuteries and they were good, the smoked almonds were also good but too salty so just overpowered everything after a while. For the mains we went for the wild boar sausage with potatoes and bacon croutons. It was a nice sausage but it did not reach the heights I would have hoped for. The veal shoulder with truffled mash was however a real hit — the only thing I could fault it for was that I could have had more(actually the dish was normal sized but could have eaten more). We were actually pretty full after the mains but still went for dessert. I tried the crème brûlée, always a good test of a kitchen. They did a fine job of it, but if I would be picky and who am I kidding I am way too picky… it could have had more vanilla in it. The chocolate bavaroise was however lovely. Altogether a very nice dinner, it is sort of between 3 and 4 but considering that it was pleasant service, the food was still rather good(with some apparent highlights) I think it deserves a 4. I will of course try again to see how they develop.

Went here for lunch and didnt have any particular expectations about it. Its a fairly new place located in one of the newest buildings in Marievik. I dont think a lot of ppl know about it, since it was fairly empty when we entered the place. You order and pay by the counter by the entrance and then get seated wherever you want. They have a salad bar with bread where you can help yourself while waiting for your food. Pricing and quality was fair compared to others in the area and it was definitely worth a try. It is for sure gonna get more crowded when more ppl get to know about it. And i guess that they might end up having some minor logistic problems with the ordering line by the door at that time. Time will tell, but its nice with a new restaurant with a great view and quality in the neighborhood, and if they keep it up, they will be winners.
