Skrapan is some sort of attempt to create a trendier shopping mall at Södermalm an area that has never really had any decent shopping malls or department stores. Many stores here seem to struggle to survive so while there is base of stores that have been there for a longer time a significant portion of them seem to constantly change. There are some nice stores(Habitat for furniture and Etc for clothes) and then a variety of more or less useful places such as Akademibokhandlen(book store), Kjell & Co(miscellaneous gadgets) and InterSport(sporting goods). There are also numerous cafes and restaurants. It used to be some interesting places such as Imperiet and also Götgatan stories used to be decent. Nowadays it is however pretty dire, Imperiet who used to serve well prepared food has now been acquired by Asian resaurant Pong and is not at all worth a visit. Otherwise there is also a Vapiano which feels not so exciting and some sort of Noodle place(Noodle Mama) that is like a worse version of Ichaicha. Among the cafes it is Götgatan Stories that was decent when it opened but these days it is clear they do not even put in the effort(service is usually disinteretsted, the place is usually dirty and food is at best edible) as they have a loyal crowd of mostly middle-aged women and families with children hanging out there. My top choice would have to be espresso house outside the book store. It is one of the worst Espresso house’s(poor layout, uncomfortable seating and usually very messy) but it is still the best option here. To summarize I am not a fan and the few times I come here these days I do no spend long and tend to regret even going here.

What’s the concept? what do you have to offer? Are you even allowed to be called a shopping center? I am not very found of Skrapan. In fact, I am pretty sure the mall would not have survived very well if it was not in the heart of Söder. There is no real logic of what stores exist here and the architecture is poor. I rarely want to go here but it happens since it is indeed convenient at times. Tl;dr: This is not a good shopping center if you are in the mood to spend a big chunk of your salary. I would recommend going to the heart of Stockholm instead.
