This is a gastropub with a «US tapas» concept. The place is a great AW joint and the ‘Murica theme doesn’t stretch farther than the menu and the blues rock music which I thought was rather liberating. The bartender is super friendly and the although I couldn’t see the food being made in the back(that would have been nice) I liked the chefs as well — because of what they served. Apparently this place is famous for the ribs so everyone in our party of five had ribs. Now, you won’t get full on one serving of ribs alone(remember, it’s a tapas concept) so we filled our table with mini burgers, jambalaya, chicken fingers and French fries too. Everyone tried everything. The ribs were indeed great(so tender!) but they smeared too much sauce on top! I think they should have more confidence in the taste of the meat itself. The chicken fingers were even better, if that’s possible(much thanks to the dip). However, everyone agreed that the jambalaya was a total disappointment — saltless, tasteless, just plain boring. It’s hard for rice and peas to rival meat dishes but everything else was so well seasoned so you expected more from the jambalaya. There’s beer, there’s a Super Nintendo console in the corner, there’s BBQ food — what’s not to like?

I’ve visited Saints on two separate occasions: Once for a casual night with friends and once for a Thanksgiving buffet. You can guess which was my favorite(hint: gobble gobble) My first time here I was excited about the ‘American style tapas’, as any place that serves a bunch of different meals in small dishes is a place I want to be. We tried the chorizo & shrimp jambalaya, cheeseburger, mac & cheese, Texan no bean chili, and cornbread. All the dishes were super tasty, and the portions were big enough that I was comfortably full. There’s also a nice beer selection. Haven’t tried the cocktails but they’re on my list(despite those hefty prices. ouch!) The second time was for a Unilocaly Thanksgiving, along with a few other Unilocalers, American and Swedish alike. While the dishes served were reminiscent of a traditional American Thanksgiving spread(turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, apple pie etc), they had a special touch to them that made them exciting and new. Everything was so, so yummy and I was able to put down two plates before clocking out. One caveat was during Thanksgiving when there was a live band playing and boy, were they playing loudly. I appreciated the enthusiasm in the room from the people watching, and of course live music is usually lovely. However, there was a wave of relief that came over me when they were finally done, and a hoarse voice the next day to show for it!

I really like this place! Both times I have gone here there has been really great service and decent food. My swedish language classmates and I would come here to practice over a beer sometimes and always found it comfortable. They have big round booths that are perfect for a large group and a lot of room so you don’t feel squished in the space unlike a lot of city bars. Somehow this place feels like a tiny bit of“cool” with a tiny bit of «homeyness» mixed in. The bathrooms are always clean, which is really nice and sometimes important if your sitting drinking a lot of beer. Overall, I’ve always had a nice low-key evening here. I really recommend a visit if your looking to have a quiet evening with friends. =)

I was looking for a place to spend my friday night together with 4 friends. And when i came up with the idea 8pm, i realized that it would be a hard task to accomplish without any previous planning. But after a couple of tries I came across Saints very intresting menu and decided to give them a call. Luckily they could acommondate us in 40 minutes although he informed us that they only had one chief for the night, and that food could take awhile. We didnt mind, and when we arrived, we got seated right away. Menu can be combined in a number of different ways choosing from sides, small«tapas like» dishes and also bigger mains. And I of course decided to go the tapas way and had 4 american styled tapas dishes. As informed, the food took awhile, but we couldnt complain since we knew about it, so we enjoyed our drinks and company instead. Once the food was served, it was correct, nicely presented and tasted delicious. Their newly grinded burger and ribs should be mandatory and their chili and chicken tenders werent bad either. With a nice interior, great lounge music and chill vibe the atmosphere was perfect to start of the night. This together with great pricing and service cant set you off in the wrong direction. Go here to enjoy«unfanciness» at its best and you will definitely not be dissapointed.

Loved the vibe here, cozy and laid back. Awesome music too :) Definitely a good find. Doesn’t get overly crowded even on weekends, and it’s one of those places where you could actually talk to your friends without screaming.
