First sushi place I tried in Stockholm. In some ways it’s remind me of sticks and sushi in Copenhagen. We where 4 people dinning the restaurant have a relaxing atmosphere. And very modem in style. The welcome miso soup was okey. Was missing some deep Flavour like I remember you get in Japan. I ordered duck breast. And sashimi menu. The duck was little over cook I like to have a medium duck. Was neutral in tasting. The soya comes in a shoot glass and a pensel. The wasabi ball was very small compare to the size of sashimi. And unlucky very neutral in taste not strong. The fish was okey, missing some Flavour combination compare to Japan. But for Nordic place I think it was a okey standard.

Creative, exciting, and absolutely delicious. Albeit on the more expensive side, Råkultur is high value for the money. Added annotation, I always bring their food home to eat and have actually never eaten in their serving hall. All in all, I find Råkultur to be worth the trip from anywhere inside central Stockholm if you are looking for good sushi.

I love sushi and this place had some of the best! The waiters were super friendly and helpful. The location is kind of hidden away but we’re so glad we found it! The sushi was fresh, delicious and beautiful! I especially loved the perfectly flavored soy sauce we got to brush on with our«paint brush» onto our sushi. The fish really just melted in our mouths and I couldn’t be happier! with a 10 piece dinner and some sashimi(including dessert), it only came to about $ 50!

Ok, this is one of my favorite places in town. The Tribute to Momofuku is amazing. The sushi is damned good too. A few things to know, I don’t usually care about setting if your not paying that much. This is not a really cheap meal though, and as others have said — they don’t have the best table arrangements and they don’t take reservations unless you’re talking about a big party. So, I’d say that the tribute to Momofuku makes it worth the trip, but you’ll have to let yourself suspend a sense of wanting perfection beyond the pork.

Fantastic meal, solid service, great value. Would definitely recommend a stop here. We dropped by as a group of 6 in the evening, and we were quoted a 40 minute and were seated after about that long of a wait. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, not all of which were my favorite but had a selection of things that were not commonly on sushi, like the arctic char fired up in straw, grilled heart of duck, and momofuku and chili plum, and I really appreciated the creativity. The presentation was also nice, starting from the soy sauce containers/brushes and including the large plates with sushi. We also ordered the whole broiled pork knuckle, which was very tender and went well with the accompanying condiments, and since they ran out of rice, they provided us with extra sushi, which was very appreciated. The meal overall was tasty, unique, and at a very reasonable cost. One of the best value meals for large groups I had in Scandinavia, especially considering the uniqueness.

Råkultur, located inside the food-temple at the corner of Karlavägen/Kungstensgatan, serves beautifully presented and interesting sushi such as blackened salmon belly, grilled duck hearts and tempura fried soft-shell crab — and many other interesting combinations that should suit most people’s palates. Their seasonal and quite extensive menu encourages you to pick and choose several combinations — which is a recommendable move in my opinion. Råkultur is a favourable place to go to if you want sushi out of the ordinary. The prices are a bit above average, but so is the quality.

One of my absolute favourites in Stockholm, food always looks so fresh and is plated beautifully and it is one of those places you know you will eat good and be satisfied

Was thrilled with the nine piece chef’s plate. Granted, I have no idea what was on it. However, that didn’t bother me because it was all incredibly fresh and fantastically assembled. I plan on returning and being able to write a more comprehensive review. As for now, the only thing I’m qualified to discuss is the paintbrush they give you to apply soy sauce to the pieces of sushi. My comments on said brush are the following: super cool and effective.

I’m from Los Angeles. We grow up eating sushi. This place is the same quality but with the Swedish flare you hope to find when you travel. The straw-smoked Arctic char tastes particularly Swedish to me but everything we ordered was top notch.

Superb service, diverse menu and a large suggestions of drinks. The sushi was amazing with small surprising details and lovely flavor combinations. One of the best rice i’ve had. The rating goes down cus of the setting of the place. Feels like sitting in a hotel reception(a luxury one though!). Nothing that really bothers you when you have good company and nice sushi to feast on.

Rakultur is a fine sushi place, though you could be forgiven for mistaking it for a French bistro(it looks like one). Its a warm and welcoming place, with attentive staff. The menu is VERY creative, but be warned: they ONLY do sushi(most Japanese sushi restaurants will also serve tempura as well, if nothing else). That said, the sushi was almost unanimously good(the short ribs sushi was a let down, though). Particularly recommended is the duck & foie gras sushi, the silver eel, and the Momofuku. What slightly ruined the experience for me, is that the tables are VERY close together. I mean REALLY close. As such, I felt it hard to relax, in case I accidentally elbowed the people on either side of me. And when our zaftig waitress tried to squeeze between the tables to serve, I ended up with a face-full of ass(not entirely unpleasant.). Still, the food is excellent, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Go for lunch after 1:00pm.

Råkultur is one of the few sushi restuarants in Stockholm which feels like a proper restuarant. The restuarant is larger than ordinary sushi places around town, offers quality indoor and outdoor seating(depending on the season) and generally serves dishes with eligant effort. The service is very friendly and efficient and the chefs display their care towards the food being prepared. The quality of the food lives up to its standards but may treat you with new tastes/styles. If you seek more simple sushi, it can easily be requested, however, råkultur inserts a more nordic hint to the famous japanese cuisine. Your pallet will be in for some new suprises in terms of fish selection! I recommend: the soft shell crab«strut» or cone selection. It is a small but mouthwatering dish!

I love råkultur! To me it’s definitely one of the best sushi places in Stockholm(besides little Akki Sushi in Hornstull). I love the atmosphere, the service and it’s definitely a great place for lunch. The menu is seasonal, so it’s always changing — often I will take two different types of rolls, or take the udon noodles for something super comforting. The presentation of the food is fantastic and very moorish. My tip is to take only people you truly like here, because once they have tasted the great sushi they’ll definitely be back and that will mean another person you’ll have to compete for a seat with ;-)

Have been here a few times now. It was really good at one time, but most times it does not impress. Unfortunately. It looks delicious, it smells(?) delicious, but doesn’t taste delicious. It’s not that it’s disgusting or so, but rather no wow or mmmm feeling about the food. Taste is three stars, look is five.

Best sushi place in the city with good prices!!! In this«bakficka» to Michelin-star owner Restaurant Esperanto, service begins with Muji-made like tablet hot towels while three Japanese chefts prepearing your sushi. Soja sauce is served in a miniature glass with a brush so you dont have to dip the whole sushi bite which was very clever imho. The taste of the sushi is just delicious which made this place one of my favourites the first time. It is also possible to find a few different kinds of Japanese beer and sake here. Mind the long waiting time(no reservations) on Fridays/Saturdays. Cant wait to visit here next time again!

— centrally located in Stockholm near Birger Jarlsgatan — no reservations possible(on Saturday evening it was fully booked and there was a long queue; best is to be there early/before 7pm) — service was partially very unfriendly — very little space to sit(on each table four persons are seated and there is no privacy at all; that is the way it probably may be in Japan) — sushi was just great; I never had such excellent sushi before(the fish was beautifully soft), goma wakame(seaweed salad; 30SEK) was tasty, too — price: temaki(2pcs) 55 – 65SEK; nigiri exclusive(2pcs) 60SEK; maki sushi(5 or 10 pcs) 65⁄160SEK Conclusion: Best sushi I ever tried; unfriendly staff; uncomfortable seating! BUT: The quality of the sushi is just great(5 stars for the food)!

I’m giving this establishment 4 stars more so for the presentation and atmosphere than for the actual quality and taste of sushi. I came here for lunch after reading about it in my Stockholm visitors guide, which recommended it as a «Good Value.» I was asked to share a table with a stranger since they were busy– no problem. I ordered the 15 piece sushi moriawase and miso soup, and read an ebook until the food arrived. As I waited, I couldn’t help but notice all of the well-presented plates of sushi that were being served to those seated around me. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the food. My sushi arrived nicely presented with the soy sauce in a little glass, to be applied with a brush(how fun!). I was served two types of rolls: one had salmon and avocado(fresh tasting but forgettable and nothing special) and the other some type of white fish(nothing great, I didn’t finish these). The sushi consisted of two pieces of salmon(very good, not surprising though), a type of salmon I couldn’t identify(and did not enjoy), a piece of white fish?(don’t remember if I liked it or not), squid(not great, but not bad. could have used some citrus), octopus(too chewy and plain tasting), some type of fish with skin on(too fishy and strong tasting, perhaps a makeral, which I typically do not enjoy), sweet shrimp/amaebi(very good) and a piece of some type of mixture of fish with a crisp on top that was just OK. In all, I was full at the end but not even close to impressed with regards to the flavor profile of the sushi, which tasted quite average despite the nice presentation. I expected more from this apparently award winning sushi chef, but I suppose given the relatively inexpensive price, you really do get what you pay for here. If I ever return, I’ll try the sashimi instead and some of the special nigiri offerings.

Don’t think of this place as sushi as that can nowdays seem so normal and boring and this place is anything but! Their sushi is a reinvention of the japanese tradition– exciting unusual combinations that make your tastebuds jump! Don’t forget to try the momofuku pork knuckle– a totally unique experience that you just can’t miss– you will not regret it– ask the waiters how it works(4 people can easily share). Best of all– it is sooooo inexpensive for the high high quality– some of the best value for money in town– with all the service, innovation and good food one could easily pay double. Service is always spectacular!

Yesterday I ate at Rå Kultur and really liked it. If you’ve lived in the United States then Rå Kultur is probably closer to what you are used to with a menu that encourages you to pick and choose several combinations of sushi rolls. Overall great food and service
