The meny is secret — making it a bit more interesting and adventurous. You will need to book in advance to get a table but it’s worth the wait. There is one set menu for eating and one for drinking — combine both or order drinks separately. Many small dishes comes in with multiple creative settings and interesting taste combinations. You will definitely check off a new dish from your bucket list. Friendly staff and cosy environment — Will definitely come here again!

When we arrived at the small restaurant, we were seated at our table with a pile of legos and an egg. Yes, an egg, a raw one with its top cracked open. After ordering a bubbly apéritif(the options were a boring Laurent Perrier and a somewhat more interesting Cremant de Loire). I hit the pile and started building. We had the only option, the five course dinner with 10 small dishes and as we were in a festive mood(due to it being Saturday) we also signed up for the drinks flight. The first course was caviar, served on the top of my hand, followed by a schnaps of Finlandia Vodka. I looked at the vodka suspiciously as I am not the one for hard liqueur straight up(regardless if it is the national drink of Finland, my home country). However, after the fatty caviar, the vodka tasted fresh and sweet. When the second course arrived, we understood what the egg was for. The cook came with a small steaming hot frying pan and made an omelette at the table. I really don’t recall all the exact dishes we had that evening, and I will not mention them all, but here are some of my favorites: the smiley face foie grass toasts, blood pudding with bacon and the small cheese puffs that arrived in a mouse trap. During the dinner, the staff did all kinds of weird things. They hung a clothes pin from my dates ear, rubbed another guest with a fox fur, and there were some strange people sitting around for hours on a flight of stair. Weird, I say, but entertaining. Looking at the drinks we had: a really excellent Punk Royale IPA, Chardonnay, some very buttery Sauvignon Blanc and a light red(don’t remember the name). To finish off, we had a cup of punsch(very Swedish Arrack based alcoholic beverage). The staff were knowledgeable(they apologized for the house champagne being Laurent Perrier), and the ambience cozy. The dinner all in all was excellent. Very sea food heavy, which is not my dates forte, but still flavorful. I, for example, had the best oyster in my life(perhaps due to it being submerged in butter and garlic). The menu changes slightly every week, a few dishes at a time, so in around two months or so we can go again and sample all new dishes. And we will, if we can get a table. With just 26 seats and one seating, one must be quick to grab a table reservation. I am not surprised about the popularity as the menu is only 600SEK with the drinks flight making it double. 1200SEK for such a meal was a steal. For a fun night out in Stockholm, this is the place to be! But beware! The drinks flight is quite generous, so there is a high risk of getting drunk.

I was coming in here with both high expectations and after some amazing restaurant visits so was bit doubting if they would deliver. The guys from Ölbaren in Åre Jocke Almqvist and Kalle Nilsson have however created a really relaxed place here on the furthest stretch of Folkungagatan in a small and to be honest not the most stylish space I have seen. What they have however succeeded in is to make one feel welcome. We were seated and quickly asked if we wanted something to drink to start with. We opted for a Cremant de Jura(as the champagne option was a bit boring) and it was really nice. The dinner is a set menu of 5 main dishes and 10 smaller tasters fro 600SEK and as that is the only option that was already decided and we also opted for the beverage flight for an additional 600SEK with it. I am not going to go into the details of all of the dishes but food was excellent. While I would perhaps not go as far as to say that they are the best in town they do however easily win most creative and really compete for best value for money. There were a lot of exciting dishes, the favorites included the caviar with vodka, the blood waffle-thingy with bacon, the duck liver paté Quail eggs, cream, with smoked eel and the horse tartar In general they really delivered and the beverages were well matched with the food. The drawback of the beverage flight was that I ended up pretty tipsy so sort of regretted getting the first glass of sparkling to start with. They were really generously refilling the glasses and that combined with the vodka shot to start with and the punsch(an arrack based alcoholic beverage). Looking forward to come back and see if they keep this up.

Absolutely loved it. This is like Homaro Canto opened a dive bar. Or if Frank Zappa played something by the Sex Pistols. Layers of childishness and rowdy behavior try to mask modern technique, excellent understanding of flavor and modern sentiments for produce. I immediately booked my next sitting, and went home wishing i was drunker…
