A small tacky locale with 20 seats(a chair for small children is available), friendly, smiling faces behind the counter and a few awkward hang-arounds(if you don’t work behind the counter, I think you should hide in the kitchen.) The left wall is covered with the menu, complete with images of the many dishes. The food is ~20SEK cheaper than most places which is nice. I ordered a massaman curry soup with chicken. It was very brown and looked really boring(not like the bright colors of the image on the wall) and the chicken was pretty spongy but it was very flavorful. The 4th star isn’t far away. I’m not going to go out of my way to come back but if I’m in the neighborhood and crave Thai, I’d gladly come back and give it another try.

Pappa Thai is a great southeast Asian restaurant in the ever trendy neighborhood of Södermalm. When you’re hanging out in this totally hipster section of south Stockholm, you have hundreds of options of places to eat and drink in. But when you want Thai food, there is one place you should def head to and that’s Pappa Thai. If it’s warm enough eat outside in the tiny sidewalk café; if too cold outside eat in the colorfully decorated inside. Either way a delicious Thai meal awaits you — prepared and served by friendly people. Don’t forget to ask for their chili sauce to provide a kick to their food as they do tone the heat down a bit for Swedes. And if prices in Stockholm seem to be in the stratosphere when you are visiting from Austria, this restaurant is at least only in the upper atmosphere pricewise. Pappa Thai is a little gem!
