Best budget Indian in the area. I live at Östermalm and the Indian restaurants in the immediate surroundings are either overpriced or absolute rubbish… one has even defined a new standard for replacing spices with sugar.
As hinted by other reviewers, the ambience and interior at Mandira is a bit DIY, but for anyone who has had the pleasure of eating Indian food in London – where this style of restaurant is extremely common – you know not to judge a book by its cover. I have only had take-out so far, but I wouldn’t mind sitting down for an informal dinner at Manidra – It has its charm.
The food is flavourful and fresh. It is easy to distingish the flavours of different dishes from eachother and the portions are generous. I have had better Paneer, but the vegetables that came with it in the veggie Sizlar were cooked to such perfection that this is only a minor flaw.

The dowdy interior belies consistently good food and service, The methigost and bombay lamb are quite hot and well spiced The nan bread is not to be missed.. It has a standard menu for Indian in Sweden. I would like to see them venture into more variety, and have a few suprises on the menu.

Sehr gutes und preiswertes indisches Restaurant. Bei unserem ersten Besuch waren wir ein wenig geschockt ueber die Einrichtung, echt indischer Kitsch, das muss man gesehen haben. Aber nicht nur die Einrichtung scheint echt indisch zu sein sondern auch der Koch, und das schmeckt man, sehr lecker alles. Das Personal ist auch sehr lustig und immer zu einem Spass aufgelegt. Cobra ein indisches Bier was es dort gibt, sollte man umbedingt mal probiert haben. Nach mehrmaligem essen dort hat das Restaurant uns auf alle Fälle als neue Kunden gewonnen.
