I had heard the Löfbergs’ coffee brand was considered a bit«cheap» to Swede’s, but I honestly didn’t feel it very much at their new café in Östermalm! The interior was decorated so lovely you would never guess it was by a regular olé’ cheap grocery store brand! I stopped in here one day as a new alternative on my way to work at the Starbucks across the street and was pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. I was wondering what another coffee shop was thinking putting itself right next-door to the most famous giant world-dominating coffee chain, but I now see that it has quite a different attitude to the space. Where Starbucks can be a bit commercial, this place feels somewhat luxurious. I found the couches pretty comfortable and the electric outlets plentiful. The wifi was working just fine too! I think I probably would recommend them to get some more ergonomic regular café table seating for us laptop lovers, though. You could only choose between sitting on a tall teetery barstool or a low sinking sofa. That is really the only big complaint I have about the place. It’s hard to get down to business if your not at a comfortable angle when using a laptop. The good news is that despite all of that it was still very cosy and quiet. I wasn’t really overly excited by the food options. I think Starbucks and Espresso house beat the place by a mile in that department. I would think if they were going for a luxurious feel, that the food would be even more impressive than those places, but it was a bit of a let down. However, I did find a gluten free Kladdkaka and a lactose-free latte that met my needs. They had quite a few different options of bean types for you to choose from when making your coffee selection. The beans I choose for my latte were just a tiny bit bitter. Which, I think is a tell-tale sign of cheap coffee. So, maybe there was a small hint that this wasn’t the highest quality coffee Sweden has to offer, but I thought it was somewhat comparable to what I’ve had at Starbucks(also, not the best coffee.) Overall, if your looking for somewhere to grab an ok latte and a little laptop time… swing on by! Starbucks is sometimes a madhouse filled with loud tourists so maybe this would be a nice alternative. =)
