Loved this museum. Each individual exhibit was unique and thought provoking. Some exhibits will make you smile and laugh, others will tear at your heart(Syrian refugees). The fact that the exhibits regularly change means you can keep coming back and get a different experience every time.

I think a big thing that I must go and see are museums in other countries because for one some offer a different view point than what you might see in USA. This museum is pretty large with a lot of floors with many different styles of photography. When you walk in there are already pictures of famous people that you might know from the movie business. In other floors there might be pictures where it catches your heart with sadness but in a way they are having a voice. A voice that might not have been known until the pictures were taken by all these talented photographers. Spent quite a long time in this museum but it was worth it and it was pretty busy and a little tad loud but hey it still was really good. If you do get tired on a floor there is a place where you can eat and sit maybe to drink some coffee to stay warm if you’d like.

It’s a bit of a trek to get here from most places you’d be visiting in Stockholm but it’s well worth it. There’s often a long line to get in but the photography exhibitions inside Fotografiska are some of the best I’ve ever seen. So incredibly powerful, moving, weird and wonderful. I also wanted to buy everything in the gift shop. Definitely worth a visit.

A great way to spend a rainy(or not) afternoon in Stockholm. Fotografiska typically features 4 phot exhibitions that change over time. While I was here(Nov 2015), they featured the iconic photos of Martin Schoeller(epic!!!), a photographer covering Syrian refugees(eye opening), 32 Swedish photographers photos, and a more avant-garde photographer on the top floor. Also on the third floor is their café with decent food selection and a spectacular view. Not sure I would recommend eating a meal there but a great place to grab a coffee and pastry after walking through the exhibit. As a student, my ticket was 90 sek which I found to be well worth the price. There’s also a kick-ass gift shop on the bottom level where you can scroll through photo books for days. Later in the afternoon the line gets pretty long so you may have to wait to purchase your ticket. Be sure to check online for the current exhibitions, although they always feature great photographers.

Somewhat disappointing. The museum itself is right by the water, and it’s a museum showing photography exhibits. It’s honestly not that interesting, and I found it mildly interesting probably because I’m an amateur photographer myself. When we came, the first floor exhibit was closed off, so there really wasn’t a lot to see. I was somewhat disappointed. The view isn’t too great either. It’s also pretty expensive for the content we saw; at 90 kr, we spent around half an hour at the museum before we run out of pictures to look at. I’m almost tempted to give this place two stars, but it really deserves around 2.5 stars. Two seems too low. Anyway, I really wouldn’t suggest coming here unless you’re interested in looking at photographs or if you have a lot of time.

Fotografiska is definitely one of my favourite spots in Stockholm. The building is simply nifty, and the view overlooking the water is superb. The exhibits change regularly and there’s usually quite a variety, something for every taste — or no taste at all. After all, art shouldn’t be simple — it should be challenging, forcing you to think and expand your horizons. I think the entrance prices are a bit high, but considering that they always have three exhibits and that you can easily spend an hour in each one, it’s worth it once or twice a year, and definitely if you have an art-interested visitor in town. The café and restaurant upstairs are perfect for a casual fika on your own or with friends — or an upscale lunch with colleagues or dinner with someone you want to impress. Sometimes they have live music upstairs, and Fotografiska is famous for its occasional crazy parties as well. The staff aren’t always the nicest, but then again, you don’t have to interact with them much at all — you just pay and go in, so that’s not so bad. It doesn’t detract from the visit. In short, Fotografiska tries hard to be one of the hippest places in Stockholm — and it actually succeeds. There’s a reason the stickers with the logo have been subtly spread throughout town. There’s almost nothing that says ‘Södermalm’ more than a moody stroll through the dark walls, gazing deeply into the eyes of whatever stares back at you in this famed hall of stunning photography.

Grilled leek with goat cheese and greens… please. It’s a total mistake. Any other place in Stockholm serves better food. An absolute disaster. Plus, their wine list is also very poor. Not recommended.

What an amazing place! I went there without knowing which kind of artist I would have seen but I found a great exposition of pictures that really impress me. 2 floor of photos very well organized. I decided to go there in the evening at 7 pm because the museum close really in late night in my opinion: it’s open until 11pm and I think is really a great service. I had the time to see al the pictures and also a video showreel without any hurry. At the third floor there is a restaurant bar with a good selection of wines, some sandwiches and pastry. Look for a sit facing the windows because he view of the center of Stockholm is amazing!

Nick Brandt’s exhibition is a must see! Otherwise, it’s a very nice building with great room for exhibition. Café at the top has long queues, but they view is worth it. The shop at the entrance has some interesting books and great choice of posters. Overall, best Stockholm museum I have visited thus far.

Current exhibit may not suits everyone’s taste, best checking out what is on before checking in — unless you have the Stockholm card, in that case all is not lost. Top floor café has nice view over Djurgarden and posters of previous exhibits so worth checking out.

A great place for a business conference or spending a couple of hours at for the sake of art. Its not located on the most strategic place in Stockholm. Although the view is magnificent, its squeezed right in between the ocean and a highly trafficked road close to Slussen. They have a great area for in-housing a smaller conference, and can offer food and drinks on the side. One concept is to combine a conference with an entrance to the photo exhibition afterwards. The exhibitions are changing on a regular basis and can over time offer everything from famous, to infamous and more regular artists. You can easily drop couple of hours here and wrap it up with some food or coffee in the restaurant. Due to its ever changing concept, you can visit it again, and again. and again! But the question you have to ask yourself is, do you really want to see them all?

I heard from some many friends that I should come to Fotografiska, and it was already in my list for a long time. Reading all the reviews about the café I feel bad that I didn’t visit it, but my time watching the exhibits and walking around the museum was well worth it. Just like any other museum they always have temporary pieces and others that are always there. The staff members are really nice and welcoming and the store on the first floor is really good, lots of interesting books, posters and many other things to décor your house or buy as a souvenir for a friend. If I lived in the city I would come here quite often and enjoy a nice time.

Fotografiska is most famous for their excellent photo exhibits but they also house a top restaurant with what might be the most scenic view in Stockholm! The meny focus on green and locally grown products with the menu changing from day to day! Before you get seated you order and pay for your food, we arrived at 12 and had reserved a table but it would have been no problem finding a spot! After paying you cna either sit down or go for the salad table and when you’re ready to eat you just walk up to the kitchen, show your receipt and you’re good to go! The food took about 2 minutes and was fresh and wellcooked! The interior is low lit and dark furnished to set focus and use the natural light from the massive panorama windows with a stunning view of downtown Stockholm! After the lunch we went on the exhibit which never sees to impress me! Been here a couple of times during my highschool years and they always manage to have new and interesting photographers! And if you are a bigger group a tour is recommended!

I missed Salgado :(and they were preparing for Joyce Tenneson in the transition. Admission was ½ priced due to that. I know both Salgado’s and Tenneson’s work, but would have loved to see it again in person. Everyone in Stockholm said this museum is a must see and I agree. They do exhibit very notable and high profile artists. I really enjoyed the Nick Brandt in the café. Seeing that work in person is astonishing. I would just go to see that and for the best bookstore I have ever seen. If it was not for for the bookstore this place would be a 3 star review since it is very small.

Probably my favorite place in Stockholm(i just spent 2 days So …) but yes I like first the exhibitions, by amazing photographers. The place is design with a good atmosphere inside. You can take free picture and print it. On the last level you discover this beautiful area where you can brunch and drink coffee for free !!!(Just the coffee and tea) And«cerise sue Le gâteau» there is this amazing view from Stockholm. Eating and drinking here is just an essential peaceful time.

Was bleibt zu sagen? Einfach fabelhaft.

When in Stockholm, be like the Swedes and have a fika. What’s that? It’s coffee and pastry hour. A necessary afternoon break that’s more popular than happy hour in the U.S. But being the American that I am, I couldn’t pass up having a glass of white with my apricot-cardamom cake. The pastries in Sweden are unbelievable! Go to the café at the top floor of Fotografiska for world class views of Stockholm and the neighboring islands. While you’re here, you should get some culture and explore the treasures that Fotografiska has to offer. They have workshops for perfecting your photography skills, an exhibition space for talented photographers such as Hakan Elofsson, Motohiko Odani, etc. The open air café next to the entrance was offering salsa classes on the Sunday afternoon when we came. I immensely enjoyed Helmut Newton’s work on display here. Everything about this man is big: his stories, life and work. His photos are meant to evoke shock and awe: it’s all about nakedness, glamour and provocation. I am now a fan. Put Fotografiska on your Stockholm must do. You won’t regret it.
