It seems Fabrique on Götgatan has gotten kind of a bad rap and quite a few negative reviews, but most of them are pretty old. So I thought I’d burst in with an update. Many old reviews mentioned problems with the credit card machine and having to pay with cash, but this has not been a problem for me in the last two years. Everything is fine and dandy! The shop on Götgatan is teeny tiny, but also remarkably cosy. There is nowhere to sit and eat, but it’s still my go-to spot for any type of Swedish pastry. Cinnamon Bun Day? Fabrique! Semla buns on Fat Tuesday? Fabrique! Delicious fresh-baked bread for brunch? Fabrique! Tasty sandwich with chevre and cranberries for lunch? Fa… you get the point. :) It’s more expensive than a Pressbyrån, naturally, but the quality is out of this world. The staff are all very friendly and the baked goods are flawless. So if you want really good baked buns — don’t think, just do it.

I love cake and baked goods. The bulle here are great, with the cardamom bulle being rather wonderful, and chock full of cardamom(no skimping on the spice here!). They do a ‘long’ version of the cardamom bulle, which was perfect for the 4 hour train journey from Stockholm to Gothenburg. Staff are polite and very helpful.
