I visited Cloud Nine back when it opened some years ago and then it was perhaps not great but still pretty good and the idea of the dessert room was cool and at least for Sweden something new. The dessert room is no more and has been replaced by a dim sum room and that is where I went for dinner.
There are some nice things to say about the place, the service was attentive (a bit too much actually as we wanted some more privacy) and the drinks were fine. The food was however a joke — I was seriously thinking that they must have an intern in the kitchen. We had both the beef and chicken dumplings, the beef ones looked more like tiny Karelian pasties and they promised flavors were not there at all. The best with the chicken dumplings were that the lack of flavor at least did not make them taste bad.
In addition we also had the fives spice pork, BBQ ribs and the fresh tuna. The pork was not awful but the actually meat used was not tender enough and should have had more flavor. The ribs were of the kind that a place like Jensens Bofhus may have served and felt pleased with. The tuna was ok but they had not really done anything to improve it — I could not taste the promised chili and the papaya was not there at all.
All together a very disappointing display by the kitchen, if this is the quality of the dim sum I would expect a new focus soon again as this was an insult that what dim sum is all about.
