Came here for just a dinner among others. No real expectations but as usual in Stockholm when you look at the price for(almost) any dish including meat you suddenly get some(read: you convince yourself that the around 300kr piece of meat lived a really great life and that the cook poured endless amounts of love in to cooking your particular dish). Well, the meat is good. Is it spectacular? No. Is it better than many places that I won’t mention by name? Yes. Would I go here again? Yes, if Rolf’s full. Do I like the«communal» seating arrangements? Not at all. Would the fries be better off dunked one more time in the oil? Yes. Do I want one of the hipster-ish aprons? YES.

Pretty cheap while having great quality. Love that you buy and bring home some high quality imported meat. The ribeye lightly fried, some salt and pepper served with a sallad and a nice sauce always impresses when i cook for friends.

The food was delicious, clearly they know how to cook meat. We visited during off peak hours and it was very empty but the atmosphere really was warm and pleasant. As for the service: it wasn’t bad as much as it was completely nonexistent. Therefore the reasonably priced great food and nice location are the only included factors in this review.

Great lunches for a good value. They are always prepared well, and if you can’t find seating(find it before you order), take out is always an option. Also, they have a fine selection of meats inside if you find yourself in a bind to order for dinner. Unfortunately they haven’t had pulled pork or chili for a while, which is very disappointing, as they were amazing! My husband and I came here for lunch during our vaca in Stockholm! A little outside of our neighborhood and didn’t seem to be much going on in the area other than some other well-reviews restaurants. The atmosphere inside was really cool! The food was awesome and very friendly waitstaff. It was good but I wouldn’t say you HAVE to go here while in town! There are so many great options in Stockholm!

Great meat! My wife had beef ribs which were absolutely awesome — smokey, charred and tender and covered in a beautiful BBQ sauce. I had a nice pulled beef burger. The sides were not so inspiring — coleslaw and crisps(potato chips)! We both had pulled pork fritters for starters which were really good. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke great English. Oh, and Brooklyn Lager on top :-)

Came here expecting great meat, would that be the case leaving? Venue which is located on the backside of restaurant Grill is a small cozy place designed to give the feeling of a classic butcher shop. Once you enter the place you get greeted by the waiters who easily can be recognized by their white coats. We came around 7pm and to my surprise it was no waiting to get seated. Seating is arranged on shared tables so we were seated next to two other couples. We started of sharing cold cuts and then on to the main dish. Menu is very simple and is written down on a black board on the wall. They have different specials every day like«Cut of the day» etc. Which probably is a good choice if you want a nice piece of meat. I was aiming for their«Chili» which i have heard recommendations about, and recommendations were apparently going to be right. It was neither to sloshy or hot and it was served with chips and guac. on the side. Also asked to go big on the meat and some extra bread on the side, which both was accommodated without any question. Further on i was going for their rhubarb-strawberry crumble, but it was finished, so i went with the chocolate cake, which was smudgy and hefty as it should. To sum it up, my expectations were fulfilled and all dishes i had were well made. Although i dont mind shared tables, it was a bit tight in btw the different companies. If it was due to my full-bodied figure or not i leave unsaid. Lastly, waiters was friendly and accurate which all added up to a very nice evening. Go here, eat meat, sleep!

We stumbled on kottbaren and my entire crew didn’t want to leave. The wait staff turned into good friends making amazing cocktails that cannot be duplicated. The food, people and drinks make this a place to hang for the weekend. Try everything on the menu and repeat as needed. Its worth even flying from NYC to spend a few days in Stockholm and this great restaurant.

For meat lovers only like me =)… I love the cuts and different meats. It’s a butcher shop and they have the meats in the glass displayed. We came pretty late around 9 and we had to sit at the communal table, which was fine. We got a nice bottle of red wine to go with our meats. I got the cut of the day-turned out to be the flank steak(the cheapest cut) but it actually tasted very nice. It had good seasoning and it cooked right. Came with a side of salad and some fries. My BF got the burger and he liked it. The meat was nice and juicy. My other friend got the ox chili because they ran out of the ribs. I tried some of the ox chili and it was delicious! Great prices for Stockholm for the food! Love it.

Love the butchers meat on display. The ribs were gorgeous and fries crispy, what more do you need? Buzzing atmosphere with a DJ playing hip hop beats. And prices pretty reasonable.

Great, if you really like to eat animal meat and animal fat. The whole concept of a meat bar makes it difficult to repress thoughts of butchery and slaughter. I experienced a fleeting moral conflict, which then dissipated.

Absolu der Wahnsinn !!! Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen! Von aussen sah es recht voll aus, als wir hinein gingen empfing uns eine hüpsche schwedische dame, sie verstand gut englisch, diese liess uns dann jedoch hilflos stehen, nach knapp 2 minuten kam ein junger koch und begrüsste uns auf hochdeutsch, dies erfreute uns sehr. Ich bestellte den burger mit pommes und mein freund ein steak, seines kam ein wenig früher(ca5min) als meines, was aber nicht schlimm war. Mein Burger erbrachte mir einen vollkommenen geschmacksorgasmus! Es war schön, lecker und sättigte uns. Einfach geil! Werde es diese woche sicher nochmals aufsuchen :)

First, to the bartender who snottily quipped that they don’t serve«TGI Friday’s drinks» when my boyfriend asked if he could make a De Rigeur: It’s whiskey, honey, and grapefruit juice and it’s a classic Savoy cocktail. Just so you know. Who’s TGI Friday’s NOW, pal? Besides that, I have been here too many times to count in the past nearly 2 years and Köttbaren’s starting to lose its appeal. The portions seem to have gotten smaller – and have more sauce/filler than meat in some cases. That’s a bummer because most things are quite delicious. The day’s long-cook is usually a win, but stay away from the«chili» as it is over-seasoned and tangy. And last time it came with a side of 5 corn chips. Stingy.

Really nice chili ox and pulled beef burger. Nice marinated meat. The service from the waitress was excellent with recommendations. But the bartender was rather impolite and arrogant. All in all a nice evening with good value for money. Fried cheese dessert was good, with an espresso.

Pros: great atmosphere Cons: food was okey, nothing more. I had the deer meatballs which were way too salty. I also had the pulled porked frites. The first batch I had were cold. They gave me a new batch which weren’t as cold, but still a bit cold in the core. Overall: I won’t be returning to this place. It’s okey but not a worth the visit considering the prices. You could get the same food at a much less hyped place.

Wow! Absolutely delicious food! As far as European service standards go, this place was top notch! Our waiter sat down and chatted with us, in addition to making some excellent wine recommendations. I had the beef brisket hash and my fiancé had the chili. Portions were not huge, but, to me, seemed just right. The hash consisted of diced chunks of tender brisket mixed with an abundance of properly seasoned potatoes. The chili was dark, flavorful and was ALL meat and sauce(no beans or veggies, just like Texas!) We felt like we were getting dinner AND a show, as our seats were positioned perfectly to allow for a view of the bartender mixing his cocktails. The artfully crafted drinks came in chilled glasses with all sorts of fun ingredients. Only complaint– this was probably the first time in my life that I’ve wished for New York prices… Being from the US, this really hurt my wallet. But I’m not deducting stars for that because every place we went in Sweden was expensive for us.

So obviously this place is all about meat. If you do not like it you should keep away. I think they had a vegetarian salad option, but seriously don’t be that guy who orders that. Unless of course your meat-loving friend forces you to come. I love how this place looks and feels. I wish we had more places like this in Helsinki too. Never knew a butcher’s could be so cozy. Came here for lunch and had a really nice burger. I think my friend hyped about the burger so much that I anticipated something a bit more… mind blowing. Anywho, what I did not like was the coleslaw, it tasted kinda weird and not so fresh. Service was good too. I think this restaurant deserves 3,5 stars and since I’m in a good mood I’ll give it 4.

Came here for drinks on a Tuesday night. We had no idea it was a bar, restaurant, AND butcher(always thought it was just a restaurant) and were pleasantly surprised that it’s also open until 1am. It’s connected to and a sister restaurant of Grill around the corner. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive(though, we were pretty much the only ones in there). Drinks were good too. Loved the ambiance – dim but not too dim, very urban and casual. Will definitely be coming back here to buy meat as well as try the food(will probably make reservations… every time we pass by this place for dinner, it’s packed!). Prices looked very reasonable!

Sehr originelle und trendige Kneipe mit leckerem Essen!!! In der Fleischbar gehts hauptsächlich um selbiges, in allen Formen vom rohen Tartar mit Ei im Weckglas über gegrillte Rippchen und Steaks. Es sind aber auch genügend Afterworker an der Bar. Insgesamt gehobenes Preisniveau, was aber der hervorragende Service(in weißen Metzgermänteln) versüßt. Absolute Empfehlung!!!
