Went to this restaurant with a spring in my step after Reading the reports from not only this website but a few others too. What a let down the whole experience was. Ok first of all we didn’t book and went in on the off chance that they would have a table, however i have done this a number of times in stockholm. After standing in the entrance waiting for someone to come and seat us for about 10 minutes, we were eventually seen by a waitress who took us to a seat and threw some menus at us. We order a number of dishes as was recommended, one of which was the crispy tofu. Now this was not crispy in any shape or form. Another was the lightly deep fried chicken. this was alittle crispy however the chicken was full of grisel and alot was spat out again. We had order sushi also this was ok but i Think if you want value for Money on sushi you are much better off going to Sea Sushi just down the road from this. Overall i shall not be going back EVER.

Went to this restaurant hoping for warm Reman for a cold winter evening, was told it’s Sunday only. This restaurant is decorated in a Japanese style with a cook station in the center, making sushi/sashimi upon orders. I guess the cook is from Japan, he always speaks out in Japanese once a dish is done. Hence I was expecting authentic Japanese food, I ordered miso soup, sashimi and one pork dish. The miso soup is too salty for me with little ingredients inside; the pork has a sweet flavor, and there are only there pieces. The sashimi is ok, still 3 small pieces for 3 different kind of fish. It is so overpriced in view of the small portion of food, also the taste is so so, nothing special. Overall I don’t recommend, it does not worth my money spent!

As always the food was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! This Japanese restaurant remains the only place worth eating at in Stockholm, and this place is what keeps me sane when the craving for Japan and it’s food gets to strong. Went with five friends this time and we managed to order most of the things of the menu. Out of 25 dishes only 3 were out of question for me needing the food to be GF. This is really a haven for us GF wanting to mix up the old routine of asian fast food and wooks. They do cook with soy though so is you need NGF this place is unfortunately out of question.(But me as a «normal» GF have no reaction to the soy sauce)

Blue Light Yokohama is a Japanese restaurant here in Stockholm serving Japanese food. I have only visited this restaurant on Sundays, when they have the ramen-only menu, so I can only comment on that. For the price(around 130SEK) it is value for money so a welcome option to making food at home on a lazy Sunday. The restaurant has a genuine Japanese vibe, friendly staff and tasty food. The selection on Sundays is not broad, usually two types of ramen with a choice of meat or vegg. You can top up your meal with starters, edamame or japanese pickled vegetables, and some chicken karaage with rice; and you can order desserts from the a la carte. For drinks they have some Japanese beers: Sapporo, Kirin and Hitachino Red Rice Ale and Ginger Ale. They do also have some wine, but even the adventurous wine-blogger has to say at this point that I don’t recommend it. A restaurant that categorizes Prosecco as a white wine should stick to serving other beverages. The Sencha tea(their basic green tea) is wonderful and a cold beer is the perfect pairing with the hot ramen. On Sundays, Blue Light Yokohama opens at five in the afternoon. We were the first ones to arrive, my friend and I, and it was no trouble getting a table. However, after 10 minutes the place was full. Especially if you are a bigger group, I would recommend booking a table. They have some nice Japanese tables where you take off your shoes and all. A genuine experience. We ordered the two types of ramen they had on the menu: The pork-blackpepper(clear) broth with spring onion, and the thick miso-vegetable broth with pork, corn and egg. Both wonderful and exactly what you need in the raw spring weather. We also ordered some edamame to share and my friend took the extra karaage with rice. The ramen its self is very filling so any side dishes are pure greed. We also warmed up with some green tea, and I tried out the Hitatchino Ginger Ale. Regardless of the high alcohol content(8%), the beer was light and fresh and a great pairing with the salty pork broth. Nope, we didn’t stop there, we also ordered some desserts. I took the white sesame brule and my friend the yuzu sorbet. The brule was a wonderful experience with tastes of sesame, nuts and burned butter(that is basically what it is made of right), and the yuzu sorbet had a light sour taste to it and was like a fresh breeze. All in all, a great place. They do some Bento-boxes and sushi for lunch, so if in the neighborhood, that will be next on my list to try.

Not a sushi restaurant that i can recommend. The food are average, the service quite bad and the environment little bit better than the rest. Instead of going here I recommend you to choose Ljunggrens or Akki at Medborgarplatsen.

Oh yes! I am a fan Has been here for both their al carte menu and sushi — but also for their ramen om sundays. Their al carte is top notch, best japanese I have ever had in Sweden and I really like it. It is pricy, but worth it. Perfect place for a casual date with lots of discussions over food and many oppurtunites to share and evaluate. I would recommend to go out from your comfort zone here, since you will be amazed by new tastes and experience of top quality food. Skip the salmon sushi and go for the more exotic options. And last, but not least. Ramen! Ramen sundays is awesome, I take every oppotunity to go here on sunday evenings(17 – 21) for ramen. And just now stopped with the chicken option, and are replacing it with a vegetarian option for ramen. Great decision imho. I prefer the pork ramen, but I would love to bring some of my vegetarian friends for social ramen at Blue light yokohama. And if their al carte is pricy, the ramen is not!

This is painful, but sometimes the truth hurts… Blue Light went from being a great Japanese restaurant(arguably the best in Stockholm) to being quite shit. My last visit was 2 weekends ago. The nigiri was nothing special. My partner says the fish tastes«old and a little rubbery.» The vegetarian pieces were half-way full(and not nearly as flavorful as before). The miso soup tasted like a bowl of salt water(what happened to all the lovely vegetables it used to have?) The onigiri is no longer available. The servers were so sweet, but they seemed terrified to speak to the chef, which makes me question the leadership of this place. Bye bye Blue Light. It was nice knowing you back when you were something special.

If you are looking for genuine Japanese food in Stockholm, look no further. Blue light Yokohama offers a wide variety of traditional Japanese dishes including but not limited to the compulsory sushi. The food is carefully prepared by Japanese chefs; the Sushi is prepared in the dining room and provides a nice distraction for the guests. This is a good place for a well prepared lunch but I prefer dinner over lunch at Blue light Yokohama. The interiors are somewhat cramped and you go here for the food and the service more than for the atmosphere and the«scene». If you are planning to bring your friends, book in advance and ask for the excellent«Red light Yokohama» package where your meal for the night is the chef’s selections both from the menu card and some specialties just for you.

I have heard a lot of good things about Blue Light Yokohama. The lunch, however, was nothing special at all. Very ordinary, in fact. Perhaps it is different in the evenings. Some day, I’ll try their chambre separé, Red Light Yokohama.

I am visiting from the states and my friends who live here told me about Blue Light Yokohama and how it is the best food in all of Stockholm — and they were right. The place is small but extremely tasty & you can tell that a lot of care and thought go into every plate served. The dumplings are unlike any kind that I have seen, resembling little fuzzy balls — but are a must try! Another must try here is the Ox Fillet Sushi. INCREDIBLE! On a side note, the restaurant is quite popular and small, so I recommend making reservations.

May be the best small casual sushi restaurant in all of Sthlm. It’s simple, incredibly fresh, beautifully presented and authentic. I’m a big sashimi fan and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Miso eggplant is another favorite. The small pickled ginger and veggie app dishes to start are fun and interesting. It’s my go to when I want sushi at a reasonable price.

The fairly newly opened Blue Light Yokohama is really a welcome addition to the Stockholm dining scene. As those familiar with Stockholm know there is not really an abundance of great Japanese restaurants so finding this place was really great. The restaurant is very much focused on the food and the small dishes are great. I have sampled most of the things on the menu and have not been disappointed with anything. If I would pick the favorites these are the chicken tatsuta(gently fried chicken with lemon soy sauce and radish) and the buta no kakuni(slow-cooked pork with orange marmalade and wasabi). While the food is great the selection of drinks is a bit disappointing. The selection of beer is limited to Sapporo and Kirin so it can really be improved as there are lots of Japanese micro breweries making beer that is so much better than Kirin and Sapporo. It would also be nice if they extended the opening hours as closing at 8.30 is very early.
