Nicht unbedingt ein Must in Stockholm, aber wer Djurgarden besucht und eine Stockholm-Card inne hält, der sollte sich dies liebevoll geschaffene Kleinod ansehen

What a surreal place :-) I’m glad I went to see it even though I was the only visitor there. I was expecting a kind of natural history museum, but it is more like a kind of art installation.(even though they hand you a list of all the stuffed species in there) One big diorama inside a wooden Viking house. You can view it from two different levels, and it goes all around the building. Apparently there was this guy from the nineteen hundreds, who shot all the animals(bird and mammals), and a famous painter did the trompe l’oeil background landscape. They kept it without electric light for some reason, so you can only see it when natural light comes in. Anyway, you don’t really need more than a half-hour to see everything, which is just as well, as there is so much to do on Djurgarden anyway. Cute though-in a weird way.
