Had a lovely meal for five people. Service was great. Very friendly and accommodating. We waked for our bill to be split 3 ways and it was fast and easy to do. Steak and ale pie was delish. And the Camembert starter superb. Portions are big so pace yourself!

Before I decided to eat here I had a look at their website and that sold it to me. We booked a table, turned up, had a drink and was then shown our table. From reading about the pub on the website and knowing that they had a chef I was really looking forward to dinner. I thought that there would be separate places to eat and drink(a bar and a restaurant) but it was altogether. The menu was printed on A4 sheets of paper and you have to order at the bar. My burger was in a dry bun, with no sauce and I payed an extra £1 for a tiny amount of cheese. Chips were nice. I just couldn’t believe that a chef cooked this food — I would have rather had Burger King. Maybe I just ordered the wrong meal.

Quirky interior(African tribal masks alongside English farming stuff and prints of local scenes etc.) with a massive amount of hop plants draped along the overhead of the bar(and smelling fairly fragrant). Only one real ale on that I could see which lets it down but it has a large and quite sheltered beer garden to the rear which I expect is very popular during the warmer months.

Excellent food at a good price! We ate at the Plough on a Saturday evening, it was really busy(nearly didn’t get a table) which I thought was a good sign! We were not disappointed, the food was spectacular, the Pâté starter(you got loads of pâté) was excellent, really tasty! Then the sticky onion bangers and mash were to die for, just superb! Drinks from the bar and the wine was also very good and modestly priced! 2 courses for 4 people came to £50, not including drinks!
