I have eaten here several times and it has always been a consistently enjoyable occasion… and it is a bit of an occasion eating here as the prices are quite expensive for fish and chips, so I wouldn’t personally use it as a take away for that reason. However, if you feel like something a bit more special, but at the same time don’t want to make too much effort then this is the place for you. They do have an extensive range of fish prepared in different ways on their menu, so it’s not all in batter either. The atmosphere is lively and informal, the staff especially Toby are friendly, helpful and attentive without being overly attentive so in my opinion have that aspect spot on. In closing, if you feel like fish and chips, but not in paper in front of the T.V. and maybe a bottle of wine to wash it down with then I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I went to the Fish Factory in Jan 2011(there’s always time to change!) with a group because it was meant to be good. I think the others found it OK, but I really like fish and expect a specialist restaurant to do it well and I was disappointed. The waiter didn’t really know what he was talking about and wasn’t sure if one of the dishes on the menu used fresh or frozen fish. When the meal came, it was very average and simply something I could have done at home. It’s a shame, but I’m in no hurry to go back.

I’ve always loved the Fish Factory, been going ther since it opened, however long ago, 8⁄9 years? I love the food, the price, the atmosphere and most of all the lovely staff who seem to love working there as they havent changed much since it opened either and they always offer the warmest welcome no matter how busy they may be.

We have been here twice. one to try it out and once with friends as guests. On both occasions I’m afraid to say that it didn’t come up to par. The fish was very dry.?overdone. The chips were tasteless, and I’m afraid the staff were very blaze’ and not in a listening mood! However, it seems that other Qpers have had good experiences here. good show. Personally, I don’t feel that I want to return.

I was a little cynical about going here but I was pleasantly surprised. I had skate wing with caper butter and chips, it was really yummy. The skate was juicy and not at all overcooked and the chips were crispy and generous. The prices are reasonable. I was also lucky to eat some of my friends veg and olives too as they didn’t like them. The veg were rather wintery and the parsnips were rather anaemic and tasteless. The service is brisk and snappy but they did check on you regularly to see if your food was ok and if you wanted anymore drinks. The restaurant is very noisy and bustling so it’s not a place you would go for a quiet or intimate meal. The tables are rather shoehorned in so getting to your table can be a bit difficult. Also some of the tables are not great near the back of the restaurant and the lighting looked rather dark. Our table was quite bright. I was too full so I didn’t have any dessert but my friends all had fruit salad with ice-cream. I didn’t taste it but the ice-cream was pre-frozen in balls which is a pet hate of mine and I suspect they were rock hard. They do fish really well and my fish was better here than when I last went to Bryces and definitely cheaper. However some of the other apsects slightly let them down.

Excellent fish and chips cooked to order — no spotty chips. Best to book on the weekends which says it all

I have eaten here on a few occasions and mostly the food has been okay. It is a great ‘bargain’ place to use for a small group, if no-one is particularly fussy. As, in the title, ‘factory’ denotes a certain utilitarian aspect this is realised in the quality of seafood. Proximity to the coastline should not be confused with proximity to ‘fresh-produce’. A good chip shop, that serves wine and salad… but does it well.

I visited this restaurant with no expectations whatsoever. Other than peering through the window before opening time for the Lunch rush. The place is immaculate and always seems to have a steady flow of local and passing by customers. The traditional fish and chips were a delight with some nice batter, albeit the deboner may have needed a slap on the wrist after finding quite a few bones left. The mushy peas were rather mediocre as I’ve tasted better up North. The reception from the staff was ever so friendly with nice advice on what was their particular specialities. Oh yes the plates were ever so warm, something that rarely happens for fishies noawadays. Plenty of fish to choose from, but maybe such a wide selection has caused the high prices. It is definitely something I’d return to for a treat, but I don’t think it could be justified for regular visits.

If you enjoy eating fish this really is the restaurant for you. Their is a fantastic selection of diffferent fish to choose from, then you can choose to have it cooked in batter, breadcrumbs or just grilled. Then it is served with either mash or chip’s and mushy pea’s, not to mention the fine tartare sauce.

top class fish restaurant, visit often. nice décor with simple wooden tables and chairs. great busy atmosphere. the fish dishes are amazing. they do a fish meze which gives you the chance to sample lots of fish in one go. meze starter and main course good value. mussels are delicious, so many could be just as main course and not starter. always plenty of fresh fish to chose from. expensive for traditional fish and chips but huge portion and very fresh. worth the treat. always best to book. desserts fab too. i had champagne sorbet-wow! visit again and again

Opened for a few years now i think and still going strong thankfully. Very simple décor wood floors and tables and chairs, high chairs for the kids too along with colouring books and pens. The menu is simple and clean(if you get what i mean) i loved the thai fish cakes and i had cod and chips with minted mushy peas… all of which was so fresh it swam to my plate. Hubbie had the same starter and placie… which i did try and was lovely. Good price too around £15.00 each for 3 courses… always busy and book for dinner.
