My colleagues and I visited the Nando’s in Slough given it was located close to the office. The food was well prepared — my colleagues who are non vegetarian mentioned that the skin on the chicken and char were excellent. The garlic bread was ok. The price is reasonable for the UK. Likely expensive if you are visiting from the US like we were. They have a vegetarian option but it was ok.

Heard so much about this place from friends. Finally checked it out. Definitely for the chicken lovers. That being said, food was okay, prices were all right, the quality of ingredients obviously high. Just don’t think it’s more than a chain restaurant. Nothing impressive. I assume the food is consistent across the different stores. I personally wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again… If you’re not adventurous food wise, this is a safe bet.

Nando’s Nando’s Nando’s… My mouth still drools whenever I think of Nando’s! A bunch of us came here for a late night dinner on a Saturday. We were told there was going to be a 30 minutes wait time, but got seated within 10 minutes! Here is what we ordered: — Chicken Wings — Chicken Livers and Portuguese Roll — Whole Chicken — Halloumi cheese There are three kinds of sauces in the tables, ranging from less spicy to very spicy. The chicken is already marinated in these sauces for 24 hours before being baked and served on your plates. On top of that, you add these sauces to the chicken. Words don’t do ANY justice to the food. I LOVED them; LOVED them so much that everytime I think of these dishes, I get hungry and my mouth starts drooling. And I am not even kidding! I was not even hungry for dinner, but after trying these dishes, I started eating, eating, eating and stopped only when I reached that point where my stomach just couldn’t take even a bit more. It’s good, that good!

My first week of this June trip to Europe started with a class in Slough, UK. That meant flying into London Heathrow Airport, and staying in either Slough or Windsor. I opted for Windsor(at the Sir Christopher Wren). After spending the afternoon walking around the castle and Royal Windsor, I wanted something quick and tasty. Nandos fits that bill nicely. The Nandos in Windsor is on Thames Road, directly across from Windsor Castle, and two blocks’ walk from my hotel. Easy access, and fortunately it wasn’t raining. The chain is sort of a step up from something like El Pollo Loco – you order at the counter, British-pub-style, give them the number of your table, then food runners and servers take care of you from there. I got the«½ Peri Peri Chicken with 1 ‘Fino’ side» for £9.85. I chose the mashed sweet potatoes for my «fino» side(you can get one ‘fino’ or two regular sides with the dinner mains.) I just had a Coke Zero for a drink. This was my third trip to a Nandos. The first was last year in Slough, then one by King’s Cross in London, now Windsor. Each trip was a good meal.

Good staff, conversion from an old BurgerKing so a little cramped. The food is the usual quality but could be so good.

Chicken! Sweet Potato!!! Rejoice! Nando’s is the British version of El Pollo Loco, except with more flavor and a bit more class. They have all kinds of chicken in all kinds of spice ranges. I’m not sure what a peri-peri is but it seems to be very popular in sauces here. I’m not a fan of hot foods(my ethnicities cancel each other out, it’s actually a tragic story) I can actually tolerate the ‘hot’ spice here. So that means their hot is actually American mild. I’ve only ever had the chicken and sweet potato mash combo but my co workers seem to like the other menu items. I like their loyalty card. You can get free chicken at every 6 stamps. At the end of the entire 10 stamp card you can get a whole chicken! Nom Nom Nom. Side note: For whatever reason their chicken does not keep well in the fridge over night, it just doesn’t taste the same the next day.

This was my first time in a Nando’s, and bizarrely, I’d been dragged along by vegans. Obviously known for its chicken, it evidently does a nice veggie burger and excellent cous-cous salad. But enough about my vegan cousins. What did I think? Nando’s do things a touch differently, whereby you are seated and given a menu but then have to go to the counter to order your food. Then you have to carry your own drinks(after filling them from machines) and cutlery back to your table. It makes you wonder how much to tip, if a lot of the effort is your own. Free refills are nice, though. That aside, it was an excellent experience. The guy who greeted us and seated us was very cheery and helpful and talked my cousins through a book he’d provided that detailed all the ingredients for vegans or those with allergies perhaps. I tried a chicken chilli wrap with coleslaw and those fries with the peri-peri salt. It arrived looking well presented and was quite delicious. We all enjoyed our food. There was sadly little point in trying desserts with my vegan cousins, but truth be told, the options seemed rather hum-drum. Same old, same old. Of course, they might have been superb. The table and seating was clean. The restaurant was warm and sheltered from the horrid winds outside by one of those blowers over the entrance. The décor was well-maintained and everyone seemed to be happy there. I did leave a tip, albeit a bit less than I normally would. The food was great, and I’d go back again, but personally, I’d prefer it if you ordered at your table, and had your drinks brought. After all, the food and drinks seemed no cheaper, so there’s no benefit to the customer. Ordering at the counter means you get there, trying to remember what four people want, then you’re calling one down the restaurant to help you fill up your drinks and carry them all. Five stars, then. JUST!

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff. Unfamiliar with the ordering process, she took us through it, and recommended the specials. There are a few novelties, such as when you order you can choose the spice level of the chicken. And when you order they guide you through some of the choices that you may have overlooked when perusing the menu. For starters we had a really good hummus with pita, and a little jar of peri peri on the side, which i must say really added to flavor of the hummus. For the main, I decided on the burger, it was really good, juicy with lots of flavor, the chips were well done, though I think I would refer to them as chunky fries, perfect! There are a few other dishes other than chicken on the menu, and they have a bottomless soft drink option, which is welcome. Two starters and two mains came in around 25GBP, not bad in my books. Finally, I would like to say this is a clean well maintained restaurant. It was starting to get very busy when we were leaving at 7:30. The Toilets clean and modern but downstairs, and the disabled toilet was locked whilst we were there. Recommended, and very good value. I am a Nando’s fan.

Yummy spicy chicken! How can anyone not like this place? We ordered the family meal with wings to share between two people. It came with 10 wings and 2 large sides. We were both starving so it was the perfect amount of food. We ordered the wings hot and the first few were pretty spicy, but it cooled off towards the end. Why is that? Maybe next time I’ll get them even spicier! The garlic bread was yummy and the cole slaw was perfect to balance out the spiciness. Definitely get a cup of soda or some sort of drink, you will need it!

First off, if you’re not a fan of chicken, you’re not a fan of Nandos. But, I guess that’s like going to a heavy metal gig and complaining that it’s too load. The menu only really had one vegetarian entrée, but it was very well done, and, considering that it’s a chicken restaurant, ANY vegetarian entrée was a pleasant surprise, especially one as well done as this. Service was fast and polite, and the prices were excellent considering the quality and the location.

Nandos is not the best experience in the world. The service was lazy, poor and the tables dirty. Not sure the manager is paying attention to detail or thinking about the customers A shame.
